A control device includes: an input portion for inputting a process signal transmitted from a plant; a numerical processing part for outputting a Boolean value evaluating normal/abnormal of the process signal by a numerical processing based on a program; and a logical processing part for a logical processing of the Boolean value based on a logic circuit and then outputting a control signal related a safety protection operation of the plant.

Safety interlock device for a plant

The power monitoring system has: a local power range monitor (LPRM) unit that has a plurality of local power channels to obtain local neutron distribution in a nuclear reactor core; an averaged power range monitor (APRM) unit that receives power output signals from the LPRM unit and obtains average output power signal of the reactor core as a whole; and an oscillation power range monitor (OPRM) unit that receives the power output signals from the LPRM unit and monitors power oscillations of the reactor core. The output signals from the LPRM unit to the APRM unit and the output signals from the LPRM unit to the OPRM unit are independent.

Power monitoring system

A sensor section is provided with a detection element sensitive to light and radiation so that normal operation of the sensor section can be confirmed. The function for confirming operation of the sensor section using an optical pulse signal from a light emitting element is controlled from a monitor module section for connection with the sensor section. When the optical pulse for confirming operation of the detection element is generated, output from the sensor section is excluded from operation at the monitor module section so that confirmation of operation by an optical pulse is not affected. Furthermore, a configuration for stopping the sensor operation confirmation function when the output from the sensor section is high counting rate is provided over both the sensor section and the monitor module section.

Radiation monitor and method for checking operation of the same

A liquid fuel cell unit which outputs a first voltage, a boosting circuit which boosts the first voltage output from the liquid fuel cell unit, and outputs a boosted second voltage to an electronic apparatus, and a first control circuit are included. The first control circuit compares the first voltage output from the liquid fuel cell unit with a preset first threshold voltage, and controls the boosting circuit in accordance with the comparison result such that the first voltage does not fall below the first threshold voltage, or the first voltage holds the first threshold voltage or more.

A radiation detector includes: a radiation detecting unit including a radiation sensor detecting a radiation sensitive to light, a signal amplifier, a pulse-height discriminator, and a counter; an optical pulse emitting unit configured to emit an optical pulse for confirming operational integrity of the radiation detecting unit; an emission controlling unit configured to control an operation of the optical pulse emitting unit; and a light path through which light is led from the optical pulse emitting unit to a vicinity of the radiation sensor. Flat non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell

A verification method is provided for verifying a safety apparatus including a programmable logic device having a plurality of functional elements. The verification method includes the steps of exhaustively verifying the plurality of functional elements on actual hardware, generating a functional element that is the same as one of the functional elements verified on the actual apparatus using a predetermined hardware description language, independently logic-synthesizing each generated functional element into a plurality of first net lists, generating a connection function between the functional elements using the predetermined hardware description language, logic-synthesizing the generated connection function into a second net list corresponding to the connection function, synthesizing the first net lists with the second net list to generate a third net list, writing a logic circuit into the programmable logic device on the basis of the third net list, and verifying the actual programmable logic device.

Method for verifying safety apparatus and safety apparatus verified by the same

In a flat non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell comprising an electricity-generating element including at least a cathode, a separator and an anode and a non-aqueous electrolyte in the inside of a cathode case, a plurality of electrode units each consisting of the cathode and the anode opposite to each another via the separator are laminated to form an electrode group, or an electrode unit in a sheet form consisting of the cathode and the anode opposite to each another via the separator is wound to form an electrode group, or a sheet-shape cathode is wrapped with the separator except for a part contacting at inner face of cathode case and a sheet-shaped anode is set on the sheet-shaped cathode in a right angled position each other and then these cathode and anode are bent alternately to form an electrode group, and the total sum of the areas of the opposing cathode and anode in this electrode group is larger than the area of the opening of an insulating gasket in a sealed portion in the cathode case or than the area of an opening in a sealed plate in a sealed portion in the cathode case, whereby the discharge capacity upon heavy-loading discharge is significantly increased as compared with the conventional cells. Accordingly, while the size of the cell is small, the discharge capacity is increased as described above, and thus it is possible to provide a highly utilizable flat non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell. Further, in said flat non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell, problems which may be caused by the increased discharge capacity in the cell can be solved by improving the solvent and supporting electrolyte for the electrolyte or by various improvements in the cathode and anode cases.

An uninterruptible power supply comprises a power supply unit for generating DC power at a predetermined voltage from AC power supplied from the outside to supply the DC power to an electronic device, and a rechargeable battery unit including rechargeable battery cells for storing the power supplied thereto from the power supply unit for supplying the electronic device with the power stored in the rechargeable battery upon service interruption of the AC power. Particularly, the rechargeable battery unit comprises a battery state monitoring unit for monitoring a state of the rechargeable battery cells, and communicating means for notifying the electronic device of information indicative of the state of the rechargeable battery detected by the battery state monitoring unit, thereby securely guaranteeing the operation of the electronic device upon power failure, and sufficiently improve the operational reliability of the entire system.

Uninterruptible power supply

An uninterruptible power supply includes a power supply unit for generating DC power at a predetermined voltage from AC power supplied from the outside to supply the DC power to an electronic device, and a rechargeable battery unit including rechargeable battery cells for storing the power supplied thereto from the power supply unit for supplying the electronic device with the power stored in the rechargeable battery upon service interruption of the AC power. The rechargeable battery unit includes a battery state monitoring unit for monitoring a state of the rechargeable battery cells and a communicating unit for notifying the electronic device of information indicative of the state of the rechargeable battery detected by the battery state monitoring unit. The rechargeable battery cells include nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries.

A remaining battery capacity measuring device having a microprocessor and an integrated circuit is packaged together with a secondary battery to form a battery pack. The integrated circuit includes a current measuring circuit for charging and discharging currents of a secondary battery, an overcurrent detection circuit for detecting overcurrent in the secondary battery, a driver circuit for driving a semiconductor switch for change and discharge control of the secondary battery, and a power switch circuit for power-saving operation. The current measuring circuit includes an operational amplifier for detecting a voltage across a resistor for current detection, and has a function to apply a variable offset voltage to the amplifier and a function to vary the gain of another operational amplifier for amplifying the output of the former operational amplifier. The current measuring circuit detects the voltage across the resistor independently of the overcurrent detection circuit, and enjoys high measurement accuracy. The overcurrent detection level and overcurrent detection response time of the overcurrent detection circuit can be externally set by an external divider circuit and an external variable capacitor. The power switch circuit selectively connects various circuit sections of the battery capacity measuring device to a power source, depending on the operating state, charging or discharging, of the secondary battery.
