The present invention provides a syringe including a tubular barrel. The tubular barrel has an open proximal end, a distal end with a fluid expelling passage defined therein, and a barrel chamber. A seal is disposed within the barrel chamber a predetermined distance away from the open proximal end in fluid-tight and axially-sliding engagement with the barrel chamber, so that fluid held in the barrel chamber between the fluid expelling passage and the seal can be expelled from the barrel chamber to the outside via the fluid expelling passage by sliding the seal towards the fluid expelling passage. The seal defines at least two diametrically enlarged portions at axially spaced apart portions of the seal so as to be respectively in abutment with the inner wall of the barrel chamber and a concave portion between adjacent diametrically enlarged portions of the at least two diametrically enlarged portions for defining a clearance relative to the inner wall of the barrel chamber, in which lubricant film exists at interfaces between the at least two diametrically enlarged portions of the seal and the inner wall of the barrel chamber, and lubricant is filled in the clearance. The present invention also provides a syringe assembly and an apparatus for manufacturing the syringe having the above arrangement.

The present invention is directed to a pressure roll including a cylindrical core member having a center shaft, an intermediate layer surrounding the core member and formed from a flexible material, and an outermost layer surrounding the intermediate layer and formed from a high-thermal conductivity material having a thermal conductivity of not less than 0.03 cal/cm.multidot.sec.multidot..degree.C. Also disclosed is a molding apparatus for a plastic sheet using the pressure roll. According to the pressure roll and the molding apparatus using the pressure roll, when a resin extruded sheet interposed between the pressure roll and a main cooling roll is pressed onto the main cooling roll, the outermost layer of the pressure roll is elastically deformed slightly to apply a surface pressure onto the resin extruded sheet, while cooling the plastic sheet. Accordingly, even if the pressure applied to the plastic sheet is increased, the plastic sheet is not broken and the plastic sheet can be efficiently cooled due to the wide cooling area. Moreover, an extremely thin extruded sheet having an excellent surface condition can be prepared.

Packaging structure

An aluminum tube manufacturing device is provided that includes a female die having an internal shape identical with an external shape of an upper part of an aluminum tube to be formed thereby, including a mouth portion, a shoulder portion and a portion of a drum part of the tube. A punch having an external shape identical with the internal shape of the upper part of the tube that is to be formed forcibly extrudes the aluminum tube by applying pressure to a ring-shaped element of aluminum material loaded in the female die. A corner portion of the female die which joins the shoulder portion with the drum portion in the internal shape of the female die is formed as a smooth arc, and the punch is formed to have a maximum diameter portion thereof approaching a vertical internal surface of the drum portion below the arc-shaped corner portion of the female die when the punch is being pressed into the female die. The shoulder portion of the female die and the shoulder portion of the punch are formed to coact such that a space there between is maximized adjacent the maximum diameter portion of the punch.

Process for producing a composite sheet

A collapsible squeeze tube for containing creamlike substances including a cylindrical body formed of a laminated sheet, a head formed of synthetic resin fixed on the cylindrical body, and a membrane cap closing and opening at a top end of the head. The head includes a shoulder member on the cylindrical body and a mouth member integrally formed on the shoulder member. The head includes bonded inside and outside layer members, one being formed of a waterproof synthetic resin material and the other being formed of a gas impermeable synthetic resin material. A membrane cap closing the opening is formed of a thin laminated sheet having a synthetic resin film on an outward surface thereof fitted between an upper end surface of the inside layer member and a receiving seat surface of the outside layer member, and welded to the outside layer member. In the preferred embodiment, the laminated sheet of the cylindrical body has an inside synthetic resin layer overlapping and welded to the outside surface of the outside layer member of the head over the shoulder member thereof.
