There is provided a method for manufacturing an electric junction box that includes: a first bus bar and a second bus bar having one shape selected from a plurality of types of shapes; a housing that accommodates the first bus bar and the second bus bar; and a plurality of input and output portions to which a terminal connected to an external power supply is connectable. The manufacturing method includes: a first operation of providing the first bus bar and the second bus bar that have one of predetermined shapes selected based on a specification of the electric junction box; and a second operation of accommodating the first bus bar and the second bus bar provided by the first operation in the housing.

Method for manufacturing electric junction box

An axial-gap-dynamoelectric machine includes resin bobbins having positioning protrusions, and a stator core including a base yoke having a plurality of tooth holes and positioning holes. In each tooth hole, a circumferential length of a tooth-hole-radial-direction-outer-end surface is larger than a circumferential length of a tooth-hole-radial-direction-inner-end surface. Each of the plurality of teeth has a columnar shape in which a circumferential length of a tooth-upper surface is larger than a circumferential length of a tooth-bottom surface. The positioning protrusions are inserted in the positioning holes, and press the teeth against the base yoke inward in the radial direction such that the tooth-bottom surface is brought into contact with the tooth-hole-radial-direction-inner-end surface and the tooth-oblique surface is brought into contact with the tooth-hole-circumferential-direction-end surface.

Axial-gap-dynamoelectric machine

An axial gap motor having a rotor and a stator core. A plurality of pressed powder teeth extends in a radial direction of the stator core and each has a trapezoidal shape in which a circumferential length of a pressed-powder-tooth-radial-direction-outer-end portion is larger than a circumferential length of a pressed-powder-tooth-radial-direction-inner-end portion. The rotor includes a plurality of field magnets, each configured such that a circumferential length of a magnet-radial-direction-inner-end portion is greater than or equal to a circumferential length of a magnet-radial-direction-outer-end portion. When the rotor and the stator core rotate relative to each other about a rotation axis, a part of the field magnets first overlaps with pressed-powder-tooth-radial-direction-inner portions of pressed powder teeth, and while the field magnets are located at a q-axis position with respect to the pressed powder teeth, adjacent ones of the field magnets individually overlap with one pressed powder tooth.

Axial gap motor

An electronic component unit includes a housing. The housing includes a housing space that houses an electronic component. The housing space is divided into a plurality of divided spaces by a central wall-shaped part protruding from a bottom of the housing space. The bottom defines a lower side of the housing space in the vertical direction. The central wall-shaped part has a connecting portion-fitting part to which a connecting part of an electric wire is fitted. For each of the divided spaces, the bottom has a short side direction tilted surface that is tilted from the central wall-shaped part toward the lower side in the vertical direction in a state where the housing is installed at an installation position, and a drain hole formed at a lower end of the short side direction tilted surface in the vertical direction.

A method of making a forged piston includes the steps of providing a workpiece made of an aluminum alloy, a magnesium alloy or a titanium alloy; and forging the workpiece with stress applied thereto in a predetermined direction (forging direction). The method further includes, before the step of forging, the step of working the workpiece such that fiber flows of the workpiece are nonparallel to the predetermined direction.

Forged piston, internal combustion engine, transportation apparatus and method of making the forged piston

An internal combustion engine component is composed of an aluminum alloy containing silicon, and includes a plurality of silicon crystal grains located on a slide surface. The slide surface has a ten point-average roughness Rzof about 0.54 &#x3bc;m or more, and a load length ratio Rmr(30) at a cut level of about 30% of the slide surface is about 20% or more.

Internal combustion engine component and method for producing the same

A connecting rod includes a rod main body, a small end located at one end of the rod main body and a big end located at another end of the rod main body, the big end including a curved section which is curved so as to become narrower toward the rod main body. The big end is formed of a metal material whose composition is different from that of the rod main body, and is bonded to the rod main body. A joint between the big end and the rod main body is located closer to the small end than is an end of the curved section facing the rod main body.

An engine component is composed of an aluminum alloy containing silicon, and includes a plurality of primary-crystal silicon grains located on a slide surface. The plurality of primary-crystal silicon grains have an average crystal grain size of no less than about 12 &#x3bc;m and no more than about 50 &#x3bc;m.

Engine component part and method for producing the same

An aluminum alloy brake disc body for a disc brake device is provided with a metal layer of a high wear-resistance. The high wear-resistance metal layer is configured to reduce thermal stresses within the aluminum alloy brake disc body so as to inhibit warping, bending or flexing of the brake disc when heated during braking. The high wear-resistant metal layer also is applied to the aluminum alloy brake disc body in a manner reducing manufacturing costs. In one mode, a plating layer made of a metal having a high wear-resistance is formed on a frictional surface of an aluminum alloy brake disc body. Cracks in the form of a fine network are formed in the whole area of the plating layer. The cracks can be formed by a plating process, by nitrosulphurization, by heating, by burnishing or by use of the plated component. The cracks advantageously provide for expansion between the individual metal fragments and, thus, create an expandable plated wear surface. Other aluminum components with wear surfaces can also be formed with a wear-resistant layer in a similar manner.

Plated wear surface for alloy components and methods of manufacturing the same

The present invention is a piston for use in an internal combustion engine and a method of manufacturing the piston. In the method of the present invention, a first block comprising a first alloy and a second block comprising a second alloy are press-forged to form a piston. The piston has a head and a skirt, with the head comprising at least a portion of the first alloy and the skirt comprising at least a portion of the second alloy. The first alloy preferably comprises an aluminum-iron based alloy, and the second alloy preferably comprises an aluminum-silicon based alloy. Preferably, during the forging process an interface between the blocks is increased in length or area, whereby oxide layers on the blocks are destroyed and the material comprising the two alloys is bonded directly.

Piston for internal combustion engine and process of making same

A method of forming a piston for a reciprocating machine such as an engine. The piston is formed from a powdered material that is comprised of aluminum alloyed with a material selected from the group of silicon (Si) and iron (Fe) having a particle diameter not greater than 10 .mu.m. The resulting alloy is then forged into a piston having a piston head and a piston skirt. The powder which is solidified and forged is formed by a process comprising the steps of forming an ingot from an alloy comprised of aluminum and an alloying material. This ingot is then melted and dispersed as a liquid in a chilling stream to form powdered metal particles. These powdered metal particles are then compressed into a blank having a cylindrical configuration for subsequent forging.

Piston for internal combustion engine and material therefore

A composite piston and method for forming such a piston for a reciprocating machine such as an internal combustion engine. A blank is formed from a pair of dissimilar alloys, one of which has substantially greater properties such as strength or abrasion resistance. The blank is forged into a piston in such a way that the two materials are bonded together in the forging process. The higher strength and/or abrasion resistance material forms at least a part of the outer surface of the piston in areas where the better properties are required. The other material backs up the higher strength or hardness material in necessary areas so as to provide an integral structure that has lightweight, low costs and nevertheless the desired properties. Various physical constructions and forming operations are disclosed.

Composite piston for machine

In a method of manufacturing the piston, a first block including first alloy and a second block including a second alloy are press-forged to form a piston. The piston has a head and a skirt, with the head including at least a portion of the first alloy and the skirt including at least a portion of the second alloy.
