An electrically conductive support for use in an electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a cylindrical main body having a first end and a second end opposite to the first end in an axial direction of the main body. The main body contains an aluminum alloy and has an internal stress in a range of &#x2212;30 MPa to 5 MPa. A method of producing the electrically conductive support includes preparing a substrate containing an aluminum alloy obtained at least through an extrusion step, and heat treating the substrate to obtain the electrically conductive support. The heat treating is carried out such that, when a temperature of the heat treating is defined as T (&#xb0; C.) and a time of the heat treating is defined as H (hours), an amount of the heat treating Q defined by Q=T&#xd7;H is 800 or less.

The invention provides an electrophotographic photoreceptor, which undergoes little abrasion over long term use and is able to develop a stable image, as well as a method of producing the same and an electrophotographic device including the same. The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a conductive substrate; and a photosensitive layer that contains an inorganic oxide and that is formed on the conductive substrate from a coating liquid. A test slurry containing 20% by mass of the inorganic oxide dispersed in a solvent for forming the coating liquid has a light transmittance of 40% or more in a test case where light having a wavelength of 780 nm irradiates the test slurry.

A method of producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor composed of a photosensitive layer provided on a conductive substrate, includes, in the formation of an outermost layer, controlling slope k of a straight line obtained by plotting the average film density of outermost layer and boiling point of solvent used for the formation of the outermost layer along the ordinate and the abscissa, respectively, to be 1.50E-4 (g/cm&#xb7;&#xb0; C.) or greater, and adjusting the difference in film density of the outermost layer between the surface side and the side close to the conductive substrate to be 0.030 g/cmor less. The electrophotographic photoreceptor has reduced image defects even after long-term use and has excellent wear performance.

Method of producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor

In a negatively-chargeable laminate-type electrophotographic photoreceptor, a charge generation layer and another charge transport layer are arranged on a conductive substrate directly or via an intermediate layer. The charge transport layer contains at least a hole-transporting substance, an electron-transporting substance and a binder resin; the mass ratio (R) [% by mass] between mass (P) of the hole-transporting substance and mass (N) of the electron-transporting substance is represented by the following equation (1), and satisfies the following equation (2):=(/())&#xd7;100&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)1&#x2266;&#x2266;40&#x2003;&#x2003;(2); andwhen a voltage of +6 kV is applied to the photoreceptor for 5 seconds via a resin sheet having a thickness of 50 &#x3bc;m and a surface resistivity of 2&#xd7;10&#x3a9;/cm, the surface potential difference (&#x394;Vo) and half-tone potential difference (&#x394;Vh) between before and after the voltage application are both 15 V or less.
