An adaptive antenna apparatus is provided with a total of four or more, even number N of antennas including a plurality of pairs of antennas each having a bidirectional characteristic. The N antennas are provided respectively at vertexes of a polygon of the same number as the number N of the antennas, so that each pair of antennas of the plurality of pairs of antennas opposes to each other. An adaptive control circuit takes an adaptive control over radio signals using one pair of antennas opposing to each other among the N antennas. In the adaptive antenna apparatus, the each pair of antennas is provided to oppose to each other so that axes of directions of main beams of the directional characteristics of the each pair of antennas substantially coincide with each other.

Adaptive antenna apparatus provided with a plurality of pairs of bidirectional antennas

The antenna of the present invention comprises flat-plate conductive ground plane, first antenna elementwith one endconnected to feeding pointand intermediate portionfolded by a plurality of times, which is extended upward from the ground plane, and second antenna elementwith one endconnected to the other endof the first antenna element, with intermediate portionformed in symmetrical relation to the first antenna element, and also, with the other endconnected to the ground plane. Thus, it is possible to obtain a small size antenna with the antenna element lowered in height.

Antenna

A top-loading monopole antenna apparatus having a feeding point is provided for use in a communication system such as a mobile communication system or the like. The top-loading monopole antenna apparatus includes a grounding conductor, a top-loading electrode, a linear conductor element, and a short-circuit conductor. The grounding conductor is provided so as to oppose the grounding conductor. The linear conductor element electrically connects the feeding point with the top-loading electrode, and the short-circuit conductor electrically connects the top-loading electrode through a reactive element. This antenna structure leads to a height which is lower than that of prior art, and easy impedance matching.

Conventional antennas devices provide in sufficient performance in terms of directivity, efficiency, or the like. An antenna device includes a radiating elementwhich is provided with a feed terminalto draw power and has a spiral shape; a passive elementwhich is installed side by side with the radiating elementand has a spiral shape; an earth grounddisposed in opposing relation to the radiating elementand the passive element; a first connecting electrodefor connecting one end of the radiating elementto the earth ground; and a second connecting electrodefor connecting one end of the passive elementto the earth ground, and the first and second connecting electrodesandare displaced with respect to each other in a plane which includes the spiral shape.

Antenna device and communications system

An antenna apparatus having at least one radiating element. A second radiating element is located opposite a first radiating element. Earth is on the side opposite to the first radiating element with respect to the second radiating element thus opposite to the second radiating element. The second radiating element intervenes between the first radiating element and earth. Either the first or the second radiating element employs a feed terminal.

Antenna apparatus and communication system

A battery pack controlling apparatus for controlling input to or output from a battery pack is provided. The battery pack includes a plurality of blocks in series connection. Each of the plurality of blocks includes a plurality of batteries in series connection. The battery pack controlling apparatus includes: a battery power input/output section for controlling input and output of battery power to and from the battery pack; a block voltage detection section for detecting a block voltage of each of the plurality of blocks; a battery current detection section for detecting a battery current of the battery pack; an unusual heating detection section for detecting unusual heating of at least one of the plurality of batteries based on the block voltage and the battery current; and a vehicle controlling section for controlling the battery power input/output section based on results of unusual heating detection by the unusual heating detection section. The unusual heating detection section includes an internal resistance calculation section for calculating an internal resistance of each of the plurality of blocks based on the block voltage and the battery current. The unusual heating detection section detects unusual heating of the at least one of the plurality of batteries based on the internal resistance of each of the plurality of blocks and a predetermined threshold value.

Battery pack controlling apparatus

A method for detecting an abnormal cell in a battery system, wherein: the battery system includes a plurality of blocks serially connected together; each of the plurality of blocks includes a plurality of cells serially connected together and the method includes: a first step of detecting a block voltage for each of the plurality of blocks and detecting a current of the battery system; a second step of calculating a charge/discharge electric power for each of the plurality of blocks based on the block voltage and the current; a third step of determining whether or not a value of the current is equal to or greater than a first predetermined value; a fourth step of determining whether or not a difference of the charge/discharge electric power between at least any two of the plurality of blocks is equal to or greater than a second predetermined value; and a fifth step of detecting a block including an abnormal cell based on determination results from the third step and the fourth step.

Method for detecting abnormal cell

A method for detecting a minor short in at least one of a plurality of cells of a battery pack includes: a first step of measuring a voltage of at least one of the plurality of cells in a process of charging the battery pack; a second step of measuring a voltage of the at least one of the plurality of cells in a process of discharging the battery pack; and a third step of detecting the minor short in the at least one of the plurality of cells based on measurement results from the first step and the second step.
