High-temperature processing furnace and reinforcement fiber joining method

Arranged in the middle of an upper communication sleeve is a first shutter that is moved back and forth in a horizontal open-close direction to open and close a first communication path that makes the inside of a first bobbin chamber and the inside of a furnace body communicate with each other. Arranged in a middle of a lower communication sleeve is a second shutter that is moved back and forth in a horizontal open-close direction to open and close a second communication path that makes a second bobbin chamber and the inside of the furnace body communicate with each other.

When a molded fabric body (X) is impregnated with a powder (K) of a predetermined material, there are performed a first step of dispersing the powder (K) in a liquid to prepare a slurry, and a second step of burying the molded fabric body (X) made of fiber bundles in the slurry and vibrating the slurry by use of a predetermined vibrator (M). Furthermore, in the second step, the vibrator (M) is moved along a surface of the molded fabric body (X). As a result, it is possible to improve the rate of impregnation of the powder (K) more than that in the conventional cases, irrespective of the shape of the molded fabric body (X).

Powder material impregnation method and method for producing fiber-reinforced composite material

A ceramic composite material is comprised of a fabric of fibers of an inorganic substance; and a matrix for combining the fibers. The matrix consists essentially of a ceramic. The matrix is formed by burying the fabric in a mixture of a powder of carbon, a powder of silicon and a medium including an organic solvent, producing an oscillation in the mixture to impregnate the fabric with the mixture, and calcining the fabric impregnated with the mixture.

A living body state monitor apparatus includes: a living body information acquisition device to acquire living body information containing an electrocardiography waveform and a pulse waveform from a user; an irregular heartbeat detection section to detect an irregular heartbeat from the electrocardiography waveform; and a pulse wave feature quantity extraction section to extract a pulse wave feature quantity from a pulse wave corresponding to the irregular heartbeat. Living body state monitor apparatus

An organic silicon polymer is infiltrated and charged into gaps in a matrix phase of a formed fiber fabric, and its airtightness is increased by (a) CVI infiltration process for forming the SIC matrix phase on the surface of the fiber fabric formed, (b) pressurized infiltrations process for pressurizing the organic silicon polymer in the direction operating pressure is applied to the fiber fabric during use and infiltrating the organic silicon polymer into gaps in the aforementioned matrix phase, and (c) heating process for heating the infiltrated fiber fabric at a high temperature. Thus, airtightness can be increased quickly, and fired work can be applied practically even to thrust chambers etc.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing ceramic-based composite member

A method for fabricating a CMC (Ceramic Matrix Composite) article, comprising: performing a CVI (Chemical Vapor Infiltration) treatment for forming a SiC matrix layer on the surface of a woven fabric; performing a machining process, after the CVI treatment, for machining the woven fabric; and performing a PIP (Polymer Impregnation and Pyrolysis) treatment, after the machining process, for impregnating an organic silicon polymer as a base material into voids in the matrix layer and pyrolyzing the organic silicon polymer. By this method, the throughput of CMC articles can be preferably increased. The throughput may be further increased by performing a slurry impregnation treatment before or after the PIP treatment, in which slurried SiC is impregnated into the voids in the matrix layer.

Method for fabricating ceramic matrix composite

There is disclosed a method of mixing/dispersing solid phases of a carbon powder and silicon powder , impregnating a woven fiber with the powders, and subsequently exposing the woven fiber to a high temperature sufficient for reaction calcining to react/calcine the woven fiber, so that only small amounts of C and Si particles remain, a matrix forming speed is high, and CMC having high airtightness can be manufactured in a short time.

Manufacturing method of ceramic matrix composite

There is disclosed a hybrid treatment into which CVI treatment and PIP treatment are combined. A dense matrix is formed around a ceramic fiber by the CVI treatment, and a gap in the matrix is infiltrated/filled well with the matrix by the PIP treatment, so that hermetic properties are enhanced. Moreover, when a volume ratio of the matrix by the CVI treatment in the total matrix is set to about 5% or more, about 80% or less, fine cracks are present in the matrix by the PIP treatment, so that a binding force of the ceramic fiber is weakened, and Young's modulus can be reduced. As a result, a thermal stress is alleviated and a resistance to thermal shock is enhanced.

Ceramic-based composite member and its manufacturing method

There is provided Ceramic matrix composites comprising fibers, BN coating applied to the fibers, the BN coating being composed of BN and one of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, Sc.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.2 and lanthanoid family oxide or combinations thereof, and matrices interposed between the fibers. There is also provided Ceramic matrix composites comprising, fibers, BN coating applied to the fibers, the BN coating is composed of BN and coated with one of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, Sc.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.2 and lanthanoid family oxide or combinations thereof, and matrices interposed between the fibers. The ceramic matrix composites in accordance with the present invention is capable of being used at 1000 degrees centigrade or greater in air.
