To provide a curable resin composition for forming a seal part, which is capable of easily forming a continuous seal part and which is capable of maintaining the shape of the seal part during a period of from immediately after the formation of an uncured seal part until a liquid material is supplied to a region enclosed by the seal part and the seal part is cured, and a laminate which has minimal defects and whereby a resin layer interposed between first and second plates can be made thick. One having a viscosity of from 500 to 3,000 Pa&#xb7;s at 25&#xb0; C. is used as the curable resin composition for forming a seal part to form an uncured seal partenclosing the periphery of a liquid material (curable resin compositionfor forming a resin layer) interposed between a first plate (display device) and a second plate (transparent plate).

Curable resin composition for forming seal part, laminate and process for its production

A transparent laminate is produced by preparing a pair of transparent substrates, forming a sealing portion along the periphery on one of the transparent substrates for sealing a curable resin composition, supplying the curable resin composition in a region on the transparent substrate surrounded by the sealing portion, overlaying the other transparent substrate on the supplied curable resin composition in a reduced pressure atmosphere so that the curable resin composition is sealed as it is sandwiched between the pair of transparent substrates, and subsequently curing the curable resin composition in an atmosphere having a higher pressure than the pressure of the atmosphere in which the composition is sandwiched, to produce the transparent laminate.

A process for producing a liquid crystal display device enabling to produce with simple process, and such a liquid crystal display device, are provided. A process for producing a liquid crystal display device comprising: a step of forming transparent electrodes () on first and second substrates (); a step of applying an uncured raw seal material; a step of dropping a first functional material; a step of dropping a second functional material; a step of sandwiching the raw seal material (), the first functional material () and the second functional material () between the first and second substrates under a predetermined reduced pressure atmosphere, and thereby forming a sealed product wherein the first functional material is isolated from the second functional material by the raw seal material and sealed between the first and the second substrates; a step of exposing the sealed product to a normal atmospheric pressure; and a step of curing at least the raw seal material.

Process for producing liquid crystal display device and liquid crystal display device

A process for producing a liquid crystal display device enabling to produce with simple process, and such a liquid crystal display device, are provided, the process comprising: a step of forming transparent electrodes () on first and second substrates (); a step of applying an uncured raw seal material; a step of dropping a first functional material; a step of dropping a second functional material; a step of sandwiching the raw seal material (), the first functional material () and the second functional material () between the first and second substrates under a predetermined reduced pressure atmosphere, and thereby forming a sealed product wherein the first functional material is isolated from the second functional material by the raw seal material and sealed between the first and the second substrates; a step of exposing the sealed product to a normal atmospheric pressure; and a step of curing at least the raw seal material.

Provided is a process for producing a display apparatus, which comprises (a) a step of forming a seal part made of e.g. a double-sided adhesive tapeon the edge of a surface of a display device(a first plate), (b) a step of supplying a liquid photocurable resin compositionto a region enclosed by the seal part, (c) a step of laminating, in a reduced-pressure atmosphere of not more than 100 Pa, a transparent plate(a second plate) on the photocurable resin compositionthereby to obtain a laminated precursor having the photocurable resin compositionhermetically sealed, and (d) a step of curing the photocurable resin compositionin such a state that the laminated precursor is placed in a pressure atmosphere of not less than 50 kPa to form a resin layer.

Display apparatus and process for producing the same

A light control device according to the present invention comprises a plurality of optical elements between two transparent plates in each of which a pair of transparent substrates having taper-shaped side faces with transparent electrodes are located so as to face each other, and a light control layer capable of changing the light transmitting state by electrically controlling the pair of transparent electrodes is disposed between the pair of transparent electrodes, and further, a transparent solid layer is filled in a space formed in the gap between the two transparent plates.
