An optical connector that provides a housing body and a fixed part that are installed so as to hold a backplane , and connects an optical connector plug inserted into said housing body via an installation hole in said backplane and another optical connector plug inserted into said housing body from the direction opposite to that of said optical connector plug , wherein flexible claws projecting from both sides of said fixed part engage said housing body via said installation hole in said backplane , and thereby said backplane is held between said housing body and said fixed part . Simply by adjusting the floating range (amount of floating) of the flexible claws within said installation hole the floating range (amount of floating) of the housing body can be reliably set. Thereby, when the housing body engages the printed board housing, the dimensional error is offset reliably by the floating of the housing body , and the engagement is carried out smoothly. A special order part for setting the floating range of the housing body is not necessary, and thus a lower cost is possible and assembly can be carried out easily. In addition, a structure can also be used wherein the flexible claws projecting from the housing body side engage the backplane by passing through the installation hole, and the backplane is held between the bearing walls on the side of the housing body.

Optical connector

An optical connector that provides a housing body and a fixed part that are installed so as to hold a backplane , and connects an optical connector plug inserted into said housing body via an installation hole in backplane and another optical connector plug inserted into said housing body from the direction opposite to that of fixed part engage said housing body via said installation hole in said backplane , and thereby said backplane is held between said housing body and said fixed part . Simply by adjusting the floating range (amount of floating) of the flexible claws within said installation hole the floating range (amount of floating) of the housing body can be reliably set. Connecting structure for optical connector

A closure for cable connection which is capable of preventing deformation thereof, facilitating incorporation and setting of a cable therein, exhibiting increased safety and airtightness, and attaining sleeve assembling and cable connection with improved workability. A sleeve is provided therein with a cable connection mechanism including a cable clamp, a tension member holder, and a fiber cable storage casing in which a fiber connection section of cable fibers and an excessive fiber are received. The sleeve is provided on upper and lower portions of an inner surface thereof with connection fitment mounting sections, on which a frame-like connection fitment for mounting the cable connection mechanism thereon is detachably fittedly fixed.

An optical fiber device,characterized in comprising a support mechanism,that supports an optical fiber connector,having components,with a two piece structure disposed one over the other and held against each other by a tension means, and at one end or the other end of which one or the other optical fibers,is inserted between said components, determining the alignment position so as to be able to connect optical fibers end to end, a separation member,releasing said optical fibers by spreading in the direction of separation of said components by opposing the tension of said tension means when inserted into said components from a direction straight along the longitudinal direction of said optical connector, and a push pressure device,which inserts said separation member between said components by applying pushing pressure in the direction of the optical connector to said seperator, and while applying end to end force to both optical fibers end to end in the component, closes the component, and clamps the optical fibers.

Optical fiber connection device and optical fiber connection method

Development of a multiple-core optical connector which can make multiple-core or a plurality of optical fibers connected in a simple manner has been sought. There are provided an optical connector ferrule for internally fixing beforehand the optical fibers arranged in parallel on an identical plane and having joining end surface of a tip which is polished, and an optical connector which is furnished with a connecting mechanism for maintaining a connected state by holding aforementioned optical connector which protrudes from the rear end, facing the aforementioned joining end surface of the aforementioned connector ferrule and a separate optical fiber connected by abutting against the optical fiber of the optical connector ferrule side.

An optical connector is provided where an biasing device,which biases a ferrule,having an optical fiber,secured thereinside and a tip end face,which has been polished, in a tip end face,direction, is located to the rear of a connection mechanism,for connecting the optical fiber,on the ferrule,side and a separately inserted optical fiber,at a rear end side of the ferrule,opposite to the front end face,The connection mechanism,has a construction which uses a mechanical splice, and is opened and closed by a release member inserted into an insertion opening,which is opened along an alignment axis direction. Hence the opening and closing operation does not interfere with the biasing device,so that operability is improved. Moreover, for this type optical connector there is provided an optical connector housing,which accommodates the ferrule. With this optical connector housing,by merely inserting the ferrule, the connection mechanism,for connecting the pair for optical fibers at the rear end side of the ferrule, and the stop ring,accommodating the connection mechanism,then assembly can be simply performed so that workability in assembling the optical connector is improved.

Optical fiber connector

Productivity of switching optical connections is improved significantly with the mechanical splice presented. A single fiber cable or a fiber tape, with the bare fiber exposed at the tip, is inserted from the terminal ends of an aligner element, and are clamped between a lid and a base member of the aligner element, A U-shaped spring clamp is coupled to the aligner element to secure the cables clamped in the aligner element. After the aligner element is closed and coupled into the spring clamp, wedge insertion openings provided in the front face of the aligner element enable to lift the lid member from the base member sufficiently to enable removal of one or both of the cables. The mechanical splice is constructed simply and ruggedly so that cables can be connected or disconnected manually by coupling the aligner element into or decoupling from the spring clamp. The external shape of the aligner is angular, and permits stable handling on workbench or with tools, thus leading to improved productivity in field installation as well as in assembly operations.

Optical fiber mechanical splice

To seal a cable junction, an insert is placed between two branch cables of the junction, which is then enclosed by a heat shrinkable envelope. The insert has at least one insert part having a block of heat fusible material attached by one or more flanges of heat conductive material to the branch cables. The block lies between the branch cables at least partially inside the envelope. Then, when the envelope is heated to cause it to shrink, the block fuses, thus forming a seal. For most sizes of branch cables, two insert parts may be used, but three or more may be used for large branch cables. The flange preferably has a tongue extending into the block to assist heat conduction.

Sealing cable junctions

An optical fiber cable includes an elongated flexible body having at least two spiral grooves formed in a circumferential surface thereof and extending longitudinally of the body. An optical fiber is received in one of the spiral grooves while an elongated flexible tension member is received in the other spiral groove, the tension member being composed of at least one elongated element made of aramid fibers.
