An illumination lamp includes: an input portion connectable to any one of power supply portions for two or more starting methods including a rapid-start method; a voltage detection circuit configured to detect a voltage applied from a power supply portion; and a control portion including at least one first voltage supply portion configured to supply a voltage suitably for the rapid-start method to a semiconductor light-emitting device, and at least one second voltage supply portion configured to supply a voltage suitably for the other fluorescent-lamp starting method to the semiconductor light-emitting device. The control portion causes, if the voltage is detected by the voltage detection circuit, the first voltage supply portion to supply a voltage to the semiconductor light-emitting device, but causing, if the voltage is not detected by the voltage detection circuit, the second voltage supply portion to supply a voltage to the semiconductor light-emitting device.

Illumination lamp and illumination device configured for rapid-start method

An automotive headlamp includes: a light source; a movable shade configured to be movable between a first position shielding a part of light emitted from the light source and a second position having a different light shielding volume; a motor configured to generate a driving force to move the shade from the first position to the second position; and a stopper for high beam to fix the movable shade, which has been moved from the first position to the second position, at the second position. The motor is configured such that a motor phase is lag when the motor moves the movable shade to the second position by the driving force generated by supplied power and fixes the same, and an electric current is applied to the motor when the movable shade is fixed at the second position.

Automotive headlamp

A motor includes a tubular housing having flat side walls along each side of rectangular joined with each other by joining sections, a magnet, having magnet poles in the jointing section, disposed along the inner peripheral surfaces of the housing, a shaft inserted along the axis of the housing, an armature fixed to the shaft in such a position as to be opposite to the magnet, a commutator mounted on the shaft, a carbon brush in sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the commutator, and electrical components provided within the housing. The electrical components in the longer direction are arranged such that they are not parallel with all the sides of the housing.

Motor

A side wall of a motor casing is formed into a polygonal shape such that flat side portions and corner portions located at respective corners between the side portions are continuously joined together. A field magnet, which has an outer circumferential shape approximately coinciding with the inner circumferential shape of the motor casing, has magnet side portions and magnet corner portions, and has a rib provided on outer circumferential surfaces of the magnet side portions. The magnet is disposed, through press-fitting, within the motor casing such that at least the rib comes into contact with the inner circumferential surface of the motor casing, wherein the magnet side portions, excluding the rib, are formed such that small clearances are formed between the magnet side portions and the side portions of the motor casing.

Small motor of polygonal external shape

The present invention is used with a stopper mechanism for mechanically stopping the rotation of a motor. A pair of brushes is disposed such that a line which passes through the center of a rotor and connects the centers of the paired brushes is offset by a predetermined angle from a line which connects the centers of paired magnets. A commutator is disposed in such a manner as to be offset from a reference position by the same angle as the predetermined angle by which the paired brushes are offset. The predetermined angle falls within a range between an angle obtained by dividing 70&#xb0; by the number of pairs of stator poles and an angle obtained by dividing 290&#xb0; by the number of pairs of stator poles. Specifically, in the case of two stator poles, the predetermined angle falls within a range of 70&#xb0; to 290&#xb0; inclusive. In the case of four stator poles, the predetermined angle falls within a range of 35&#xb0; to 145&#xb0; inclusive.

A cosmetic container ( ) comprises a housing assembly ( ) with an annular projection ( ) and a cap assembly ( ) with an inner cap member ( ) engageable with the annular projection. The inner cap member has a wall portion ( ) between upper and lower annular external swells ( ), which is deformed to provide air-tight engagement with the annular projection in a capped condition. The lower swell ( ) comprises a plurality of spaced segmental annular projections ( ) formed substantially around the outer surface of the inner cap member and one or more of dotty projections ( ) positioned substantially within each space between adjacent two of the segmental annular projections. The lower swell acts as a first stopper for preventing removal of the cap assembly from the housing assembly, whereas the upper swell acts as a second stopper for preventing excessive insertion of the housing assembly into the cap assembly.

Cosmetic container

A small-size motor has a case cover formed with three voids, and electric elements such as chip capacitors are contained in the three voids. A first electric element is mechanically fixed between a pair of brush units in a first void and is electrically connected. The remaining two second and third electric elements are located on both sides of the first electric element and are pressed on a brush base in a motor shaft direction by a body earth terminal in second and third voids, so that the body earth terminal is fixed to the case cover and the two electric elements are mechanically fixed and electrically connected. A sufficient space is secured in the motor case cover made of synthetic resin, so that three electric elements such as chip capacitors can be incorporated together with their wiring and support arrangement.

Small-size motor brush assembly with electrical noise suppression

A thrust-out type container for a rod-like article such as a lipstick basically comprising a body and a cap. The body has an axis C extending in a vertical direction and comprises, around the axis C and radially outward from the axis C, a movable member, an inner cylindrical tube, an outer cylindrical tube and a control tube in this order. An intermediate cylindrical tube is interposed between the outer cylindrical tube and the control tube. The intermediate cylindrical tube is fixed to the control tube and rotatable around the outer cylindrical tube. An outer peripheral surface of the intermediate cylindrical tube and an inner peripheral surface of the cap come in air-tight contact with each other. The intermediate cylindrical tube extends downward beyond respective lower ends of the inner and outer cylindrical tubes and has a bottom covering the respective lower ends of these tubes.

Thrust-out type container for a rod-like article

A camera has a shutter which may also constitute a diaphragm. In a multi-flash mode the shutter selectively has a maximum aperture at an onset or at the end of the time base. The flash occurs in synchronism with a shutter waveform shaped by this aperture area and a time base element. In a second embodiment, a second diaphragm setting circuit is provided, in diaphragm priority photography, for computing a measurement value of a distance to a subject and a second diaphragm value from the guide number during an emission of flashed light. The diaphragm is set to the computed second diaphragm value, ad an electronic flash is energized with a desired aperture area. The diaphragm is set to an initial value to effect the photography at a time other than during the emission of flashed light. A timing circuit may be provided for setting the diaphragm to the second diaphragm value. The aperture area may be increased or decreased for diaphragm matching with the quantity of flashed light and the distance to the subject during diaphragm priority flash photography.

Flash synchronizing device

A choke-coil fixture for miniature motors of a type having choke coils housed in recesses formed in an end bell closing an end of a motor housing, characterized in that choke-coil housing recesses are formed in such a manner as to lock ends of the choke coils when the choke coils are inserted into the recesses in the longitudinal direction, terminals having flat portions for pushing the other ends of the choke coils at portions electrically connecting the lead ends of the choke coils, and engaging portions for locking to the end bell is disclosed. The terminals for miniature motors can have positioning portions for positioning the terminals with respect to the lead ends of the choke coils, and cylindrical portions for engaging with the connecting power-feeding connecting pins; the cylindrical portion adapted to be flexible in size by being plastically deformed. A choke-coil fixture for miniature motors having insulating washers for insulating the other lead ends from the terminals by engaging with the choke coils inserted into recesses for housing the choke coils is disclosed.

A camera photometric device includes a light receiving element operated by incident light for outputting photometric data. A storage arrangement stores a plurality of photometric data correction tables. An A/D converting circuit has a digital output for addressing the data correction tables stored in the storage arrangement. A variable resistor provides a variable analog voltage that is applied to the A/D converting circuit. A correction data indexing arrangement indexes the photometric data correction tables addressed by the voltage output from the variable resistor as a function of the luminance of incident light.

Photometric device for a camera

A drive ring drivable by a stepping motor is normally urged by a spring to turn in one direction around a lens aperture. When not in use, the stepping motor is not subjected to the resilient force from the spring since the drive ring is locked against rotation by a ratchet wheel engaged by an engagement lever. The stepping motor is therefore not subjected to undue stresses and is prevented from malfunctioning. Consequently, focusing failures and exposure adjustment failures which could otherwise arise from malfunctioning of the stepping motor are prevented from occurring. In operation, a solenoid is energized to move the engagement lever out of engagement with the ratchet wheel, which is then freed to allow the drive ring to be turned by the stepping motor.

Motor-driven shutter for camera

A programmable shutter of the type wherein a shutter blade is opened and closed by means of a stepping motor. The motor is rotated in a forward direction by drive pulses of a predetermined fixed period to gradually open a sector while at the same time a light measuring circuit is started. Thus, at the time when an appropriate exposure quantity is reached, the direction of rotation of the motor is forcibly reversed to effect closing of the sector to attain simultaneous measurement of light and exposure.

Programmable shutter

A camera having a lens shutter and a focal-plane shutter, includes a selector circuit for selecting either a lens shutter mode or a focal-plane shutter mode; a first driving device for controlling either the programmed exposure value of the lens shutter or the size of the aperture, the first driving device including a motor and an actuating member driven by the motor, the actuating member including a peripheral surface with a first cam for controlling the programmed exposure value of the lens shutter in response to forward rotation of the motor, and a second cam for controlling the size of the aperture in response to reverse rotation of the motor, the first cam having an inclination in a first direction and the second cam having a less steep inclination in an opposite direction; a pivotally mounted opening lever connecting the lens shutter to the actuating member, the lever defining a first arm and a second arm, the first arm in engagement with the actuating member and the second arm connected with the lens shutter, a first pin on the first arm which rides on the cams, and a second pin on the second arm to pivotally connect with shutter blades of the lens shutter; a spring biasing the first pin into engagement with the cams; a second driving device controlling the time of operation of the focal-plane shutter mode; and a sequential control circuit controlling the driving devices.

Camera

A camera shutter has an automatic focusing lens operative when actuated to effect an automatic focusing operation. An actuating ring is normally placed in a non-operating region and momentarily shifted to an operating region during the automatic focusing operation. The actuating ring is sequentially displaceable in forward and reverse direction through the operating region to actuate the automatic focusing lens, and displaceable in the forward and reverse directions in the non-operating region without effecting actuation of the automatic focusing lens. A ratchet mechanism is coupled to the actuating ring for selectively locking and unlocking the actuating ring in the non-operating region in response to the displacement thereof in the forward and reverse directions. A bi-directionally rotatable stepping motor is connected to drive the actuating ring to displace the same in the forward and reverse directions.
