The present invention relates to a connection structure for a printed wiring board to be electrically connected to a FPC. The FPC has an elongated substrate, and plural conductors are laminated on a surface of the substrate for extending along an axial direction of the substrate. The printed wiring board has an insertion opening provided at an edge surface for being inserted by a top end portion of the FPC, and plural line connecting terminals formed on an internal wall surface of the insertion opening. The top end portion of the FPC has a slider including plural elastic deformable first contacts, and a first housing for holding the plurality of contacts. The FPC is inserted into the insertion opening of the printed wiring board such that one end of the first contact presses the conductor and the other end of the first contact presses the line connecting terminal. The FPC can be connected to the printed wiring board on an edge surface thereof, allowing circuit elements to be mounted in high density, and improving freedom in designing wiring patterns.

Connection structure for printed wiring board

A double-sided flexible printed circuit comprises: an electrically insulating base; a first copper layer having a first conductive pattern; a second copper layer having a second conductive pattern, the second conductive pattern disposed offset from the first conductive pattern; and electrically insulating coverlays. A first area opposing a first contact point of first contacts that press upon the first conductive patterns, is reinforced by copper foil extending from the second conductive patterns, and a second area opposing a second contact point of second contacts that press upon the second conductive patterns, is reinforced by copper foil extending from the first conductive patterns.

Double-sided flexible printed circuits

The present invention relates to a connection structure for a printed wiring board to be electrically connected to a FPC. The FPC comprises a long substrate, a plurality of conductors laminated on the surface of the substrate and extending along an axial direction of the substrate. The printed wiring board comprises a planar main wiring board, an insertion opening, and a plurality of the through-hole terminals. Each of the conductors of the FPC abuts the through-hole terminal upon the insertion of the FPC into the insertion opening of the printed wiring board. According to the invention, a connector structure to be connected to FPC is provided inside the printed wiring board in order to mount circuit element in high density, and thus improve degree of freedom in designing wiring pattern.

A connector comprises a housing and a cover housing. The housing has a recess formed for insertion of a FPC. The housing comprises a first contact, a second contact and a third contact. The first contact and the second contact includes a first arm, a second arm, and a horizontal leg. The third contact includes a fixing arm, an elastic arm opposing the fixing arm, and a connection leg connecting said fixing arm with said elastic arm. A cam is arranged between the elastic arm of the third contact and the bottom surface of the recess of the housing for locking at a tip of the elastic arm.

An FPC connector comprises: a housing in which is formed a concave portion into which an FPC with a pair of engaging convex portions arranged on two flanks of a terminal portion of the FPC, is inserted; a cover-housing for covering, with opening and closing enabled, the concave portion of the housing, the housing having a pair of protrusions that protrude from a bottom face of the concave portion and are latched by the pair of engaging convex portions; and a pair of metal reinforcing plates, adjoining two flanks of the pair of protrusions, the metal reinforcing plates having convex portions that are latched by the protrusions and the engaging convex portions.

FPC connector

An electrical connector for connection of a flat-type connection member is disclosed. The electrical connector includes a cover pivotally moved to open or close an opening of a housing. The cover is reinforced with a metal plate. The cover includes a pair of support shafts for pivotal movement, and engagement portions adapted to engage with lock portions of the housing for locking the cover in a close position. The metal plate is provided with the pair of support shafts and the pair of engagement portions.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector for connection of a flat-type connection member includes a housing having an opening and a contact facing into the opening; and a cover pivotally movable between a close position and an open position. A support shaft for the pivotal movement of the cover is supported by a support portion of the housing as allowed to pivot and slidably move between a forward position and a rearward position. When the cover in the close position is slidably moved rearwardly along with the support shafts, engagement portions of the cover come into engagement with lock portions of the housing thereby locking the cover in the close position.

Electric connector

An electrical connector for connection of a flat-type connection member is disclosed. The electrical connector comprises a cover adapted to be pivotally moved for opening or closing an opening of a housing. A first and a second contact are retained by the housing in a manner to face into the opening. The first and second contacts are press-inserted from a rear side of the housing into corresponding fixing holes so as to be fixed therein. The first and second contacts each include a lead exposed from the rear side of the housing. The leads of the first and second contacts are arranged in a zigzag fashion as alternately shifted forwardly and rearwardly relative to each other.

An electrical connector for flat cable which removably connects a flat cable at its end. A housing defines an insertion space for insertion of the end of the flat cable in a predetermined direction. A retainer is connected to the housing as allowed to slide substantially along the predetermined direction. A reinforcement member made of metal is fixed to the housing. The reinforcement member inhibits the removal of the retainer from the housing.

Electrical connector for flat cable

A retainer for an electrical connector presses an end of a flat cable into contact with a plurality of contacts in an insertion space, the flat cable inserted in the insertion space of a housing of the electrical connector. The retainer includes a main body formed of a synthetic resin, a pair of connection arms made of metal and fixed to the main body. The connection arms are connected to the housing as allowed to slide in a predetermined direction.
