Provide are a nitride piezoelectric body having a value indicating a performance index (at least any one of d, g, and K) higher than that of aluminum nitride not doped with any element, and a MEMS device using the same. The nitride piezoelectric body is a piezoelectric body represented by chemical formula AlMgTaN, wherein X+Y is less than 1, X is in a range of more than 0 and less than 1, and Y is in a range of more than 0 and less than 1, and Ta includes tetravalent tantalum.

It is an object to provide a ferroelectric thin film having much higher ferroelectric properties than conventional Sc-doped ferroelectric thin film constituted by aluminum nitride and also having stability when applied to practical use, and also to provide an electronic device using the same. An object is to provide a piezoelectric body having a value indicating a higher performance index (d, e, C, g, and/or k) than aluminum nitride not doped with any element. The piezoelectric body is represented by a chemical formula AlMgMN where X+Y is less than 1, X is in a range of more than 0 and less than 1, and Y is in a range of more than 0 and less than 1.

There are provided a piezoelectric body of ytterbium-doped aluminum nitride, having a greater piezoelectric coefficient dor gthan those not doped with ytterbium, and a MEMS device using the piezoelectric body. The piezoelectric body is represented by a chemical formula AlYbN where a value of x is more than 0 and less than 0.37 and having a lattice constant ratio c/a in a range of 1.53 or more and less than 1.6. The piezoelectric body with such a configuration has a greater piezoelectric coefficient dor gthan those not doped with ytterbium.

A fixture is provided for attachment to a device to be inserted into a nasal cavity. Further, the fixture is a nasal cavity insertion device fixture formed of a wire rod. The fixture includes a first wire rod part, a second wire rod part, and a third wire rod part. A medical guide wire () is made in which at least a fluororesin coating layer () is formed on the surface of a metal wire (), wherein particulate matter is present in the fluororesin coating layer (), and the fluororesin coating layer covers the particulate matter and at least some of the particulate matter is formed in surface protrusion-shaped projections (). It is thus possible to provide a medical guide wire that is inexpensive to manufacture and whose strength is unaffected and frictional resistance is low, and manufacturing method for the same.

A method for the manufacture of a medical wire includes manufacturing a fluororesin-coated wire and irradiating with infrared radiation. The fluororesin-coated wire is manufactured with a fluororesin-containing liquid, or fluororesin powder body being applied to the outer circumference of a superelastic alloy wire or of a resin-coated superelastic alloy wire. The fluororesin-coated wire is irradiated with a defined wavelength of infrared radiation for a defined period of time.

A gas-concentration measuring apparatus for measuring the concentration variation of gas residing in a target region. The gas-concentration measuring apparatus comprises an ultrasound-transmitter adapted to transmit an ultrasound in response to an ultrasound-generating signal having a rate of voltage change equal to or greater than a slew rate of an operational amplifier, and further adapted to output the ultrasound-generating signal. An ultrasound-receiver adapted to receive the ultrasound wave passed through the gas residing in the target region, and further adapted to convert the received ultrasound into an electrical signal serving as a received ultrasound signal is provided. A gas-concentration determiner adapted to input the ultrasound-generating signal and the received ultrasound wave signal into the operational amplifier to generate an amplified transmitting-side chopping wave and an amplified receiving-side chopping wave is further provided. The gas-concentration determiner is further adapted to compare the transmitting-side and receiving-side chopping waves independently with corresponding given threshold voltages to detect a first pair of time points when the respective chopping waves become equal to or greater than the corresponding given threshold voltages or to detect a second pair of time points when the respective chopping waves become equal to or less than the corresponding given threshold voltages. The gas-concentration determiner is further adapted to determine the concentration variation in the gas based on the pair of time points.

Gas concentration measuring apparatus and method

Respective evaporators are set to a proper value in evaporation temperature and the efficiency in refrigeration cycle is enhanced, resulting in a reduction of energy consumption. A refrigerating unit and a refrigerator comprise a compressor, a condenser, a plurality of evaporators connected in series, a refrigerant flow rate adjustable unit and a refrigerant, thereby constituting a refrigeration cycle. The refrigerant flow rate adjustable unit controls each respective evaporation temperature of the plurality of evaporators. Preferably, the refrigeration unit further comprises a bypass circuit bypassing at least one of the plurality of evaporators and, when needs arise, the refrigerant is channeled through the bypass circuit. The refrigerant flow rate adjustable unit controls a flow rate of the refrigerant such that an evaporation temperature of the respective evaporators located at the upstream side of the refrigeration cycle is made higher than an evaporation temperature of the respective evaporators located at the downstream side thereof.

A refrigerator is improved in storage environment by suppressing drying and oxidation and enhanced in volume efficiency and cooling efficiency. The refrigerator includes a refrigerating chamber, a vegetable chamber, and a freezing chamber in order from its top to its bottom. Cool air is introduced into the freezing chamber by a first cooler and a first fan, and is introduced into the refrigerating chamber by a second cooler and a second fan. These chambers function as a direct cooling chamber. The vegetable chamber functions as an indirect cooling chamber cooled by a cooling plate which is disposed at the top of the chamber and has a large thermal conductivity, which is cooled by forced convection by the second cooler and the second fan, producing the effects of low temperature radiation and natural convection in the chamber. This arrangement provides the refrigerator with quality maintaining effects in accordance with the suitability for storage of foods, and allows the refrigerator to assure high storing performance.

Refrigerator

A bottom-freezer refrigerator comprises a generally rectangular box-like refrigerator housing including a top division and a bottom division with an adiabatic partition wall intervening between the top and bottom divisions. The top division has a refrigerator chamber and a crisper chamber both defined therein. The bottom division has a freezer compartment defined therein. The bottom-freezer refrigerator of the structure described above also comprises a first cooler provided in the top division at a location spaced from a rear wall portion of the crisper chamber, a first circulating fan disposed in the vicinity of the first cooler, a second cooler provided in the bottom division, and a second circulating fan disposed in the vicinity of the second cooler. The refrigerator chamber and the crisper chamber are cooled by the first cooler in cooperation with the first circulating fan, whereas the freezer compartment is cooled by the second cooler in cooperation with the second circulating fan.
