A PCU case of a power control unit includes a case main body that has an upper surface-side opening and a lower surface-side opening and is formed in a tubular shape with a rectangular cross-section, and an upper cover that covers the upper surface-side opening. The case main body includes a fastening part that is formed so as to surround the lower surface-side opening and fastened to a surface of a transaxle case, and this surface of the transaxle case doubles as a lower surface of the PCU case. The case main body includes a plate-shaped beam member that extends along a short-side direction, connects a pair of long-side side walls to each other, and divides the inside of the case main body into an upper chamber and a lower chamber, and an intermediate opening that provides communication between the upper chamber and the lower chamber.

Power control unit

A vehicle drive system includes: a case accommodating a first rotary electric machine and a second rotary electric machine that are arranged to have respective rotational axes parallel to each other and to be radially adjacent to each other; and a power control device configured to control the first rotary electric machine and the second rotary electric machine. The case includes a peripheral wall portion surrounding the first rotary electric machine and the second rotary electric machine, and the power control device is mounted in a mounting section provided on an outer peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion. A lower part of the power control device is located in a space surrounded by a line connecting a first cross point, and a second cross point, the first rotary electric machine and the second rotary electric machine.

Vehicle drive system

A vehicle driving device includes a case that accommodates therein a first rotary electric machine and a second rotary electric machine arranged with rotation axes thereof parallel to each other and radially adjacent to each other, and a power control device that controls electric power supplied to the first rotary electric machine and the second rotary electric machine. In the power control device, a control board, a power card and a cooler, a reactor and a capacitor, and a water jacket are disposed in order from top in a height direction.

Vehicle driving device

A front compartment is provided with an engine, an air cleaner, a radiator, a reservoir tank, a motor unit, an auxiliary battery, and an EFI-ECU. The engine, the reservoir tank, the motor unit and the EFI-ECU are aligned in a vehicle's width direction. The air cleaner and the auxiliary battery are also aligned in the vehicle's width direction. The air cleaner is located in front of the motor unit. The motor unit includes a power control unit and a transaxle. The air cleaner is located in front of the power control unit. The auxiliary battery is located diagonally forward to left of the motor unit.

Layout structure for front compartment of hybrid vehicle

This blow-by gas recirculation device for an internal combustion engine is provided with a vacuum pump which supplies negative pressure to a brake booster and usable for recirculation of blow-by gas to an intake passage. This device includes: a PCV device for recirculating blow-by gas in a crankcase to the intake passage; a ventilation shortage region determination unit which determines whether or not an operational region of the engine is a PCV ventilation flow rate shortage region; and a brake negative pressure determination unit which determines whether or not the negative pressure of the brake booster is secured. The vacuum pump ventilates blow-by gas in the crankcase only when the determination units determines that the operational region is the PCV ventilation flow rate shortage region and that the negative pressure is secured. This reduces a contact risk of blow-by gas with engine oil, and inhibits the degradation of the oil.

Blow-by gas recirculation device for internal combustion engine

A pressure ring includes a first pressure ring fitted in a first ring groove of a piston; and a second pressure ring fitted in a second ring groove of the piston, and positioned between the first pressure ring and an oil ring. The second pressure ring is provided with a groove that extends across a surface of the second pressure ring from an inner peripheral side to an outer peripheral side. The groove is configured such that at least one of a width and a depth of the groove becomes larger toward the outer peripheral side from the inner peripheral side.

Control device for internal combustion engine

This blow-by gas recirculation device for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle is provided with a vacuum pump which supplies negative pressure to a brake booster. The blow-by gas recirculation device includes: a fresh-air introduction passage for introducing a fresh air into a crankcase from an intake passage upstream of a throttle valve; a PCV device for recirculating, to the intake passage downstream of the throttle valve, blow-by gas in the crankcase; and a suction/recirculation means which uses the vacuum pump to suck the blow-by gas from inside the crankcase, in a region where the blow-by gas ventilation quantity by the PCV device is insufficient, and recirculate the blow-by gas to the intake passage, while the fresh air is being introduced from the fresh-air introduction passage. As a result, the blow-by gas concentration in the crankcase is reduced, engine oil contact opportunities are reduced, and oil deterioration is inhibited.

Provided is a control apparatus for an internal combustion engine which can favorably achieve a good balance between the prevention of an excessive increase in the piston temperature and the prevention of deterioration of various performances of the internal combustion engine as a result of execution of abnormal combustion suppression control, even when abnormal combustion occurs continuously or substantially continuously over a plurality of cycles. An in-cylinder pressure sensor () is provided to obtain the in-cylinder pressure P of an internal combustion engine (). When continuous pre-ignition is detected using the in-cylinder pressure sensor (), the control apparatus makes it more difficult for continuous pre-ignition suppression control to be executed when the Pmax at the time of pre-ignition is low than when the Pmax at the time of pre-ignition is high.

Stirling engine gas lubrication structure

An exhaust heat recovery system includes a plurality of Starling engines. Heaters of the Starling engines are disposed in an exhaust passage that is a heat medium passage. An inside of the exhaust passage is partitioned with a partitioning member into a first exhaust passage and a second exhaust passage. The heater of the Starling engine disposed on an upstream side in a flowing direction of exhaust gas is provided in the first exhaust passage, and the heater of the Starling engine disposed on a downstream side in the flowing direction of the exhaust gas is provided in the second exhaust passage.

Exhaust heat recovery system

A gas lubrication structure is provided with a high-temperature-side cylinder, an expansion piston lubricated relative to the high-temperature-side cylinder by gas, and a layer provided to the outer peripheral surface of the expansion piston and composed of a material flexible and having a higher linear expansion coefficient than the base material of the expansion piston. The thickness of the layer under normal temperatures is not less than the size of the clearance formed between the layer and the high-temperature-side cylinder. Also, even if the layer is thermally expanded under use conditions, the layer under normal temperatures has a thickness enabling a clearance to be formed between the layer and the high-temperature-side cylinder.

Gas lubrication structure for piston, and stirling engine

A Stirling engine has a fluid passage that connects a low temperature-side actuating fluid space and a crankcase inner space, and a passage opening/closing valve that is provided in the fluid passage and that opens and closes the fluid passage. The passage opening/closing valve enables communication through the fluid passage upon startup of the Stirling engine, and shuts off communication through the fluid passage when the rotational speed of the crankshaft of the Stirling engine is equal to or greater than a pre-established start-enabling rotational speed.

Piston engine

A Stirling engine is provided with a fluid passage that connects a low temperature-side actuating fluid space and a crankcase inner space, and a passage opening/closing valve that is provided in the fluid passage and that opens and closes the fluid passage. Upon stopping of the Stirling engine, the passage opening/closing valve enables communication through the fluid passage, at a region at which the piston floats in the cylinder. This region is determined based on the pressure of an actuating fluid in the actuating fluid space and the rotational speed of a crankshaft of the Stirling engine.
