An injection molding machine that performs a safe ejecting action of a molded article until a setting state of an ejector rod and a set forward end position for an ejection stroke of a molded article ejector are suitable for a mold in use. A resistor Ris set to ON when a mold is changed and a resistor Ris set to ON when a set value of the forward end position of the ejection stroke is changed. When resistor Ror resistor Ris ON, ejection is performed with a reduced ejecting force and at a reduced ejecting velocity. When a detected position of the ejector rod reaches the set forward end position, resistors Rand Rare turned OFF and thereafter the ejection is performed with a normal ejecting force and a normal ejecting velocity, to thereby prevent damage to the mold or to the molded article ejector.

Injection molding machine

A controller for an injection molding machine capable of reducing an extension of a cycle time in a screw retreat process after the end of measurement, obtaining a more accurate and uniform measured resin amount, and determining measurement conditions in a short period of time. After the measurement is finished, the screw is stopped from rotating and retreated at a first speed V. The screw is reversely rotated at a predetermined speed Rv in a set zone. As this is done, the screw is retreated at a second speed Vlower than the first speed V. After the reverse rotation zone is terminated, the screw is stopped from rotating and retreated at a third speed Vto a set retreat stop position. By doing this, the cycle time can be made shorter than in the case where the retreat and reverse rotation of the screw are performed separately. Since the retreating speed of the screw is low while the screw is being reversely rotated, a sudden pressure change can be suppressed, so that precise measurement can be made. Since conditions for the reverse rotation and retreat of the screw can be regulated independently, they can be adjusted to optimum conditions in a short period of time.

Controller of injection molding machine

A rear platen is moved forward toward a fixed platen as much as the amount corresponding to a mold clamping force which is set in advance, in a state in which the toggle mechanism of a toggle type mold clamping system is contracted, to detect that a fixed mold half attached to the rear platen touches a movable mold half attached to the fixed platen. When mold touch is detected, the rear platen is moved backward as much as the amount of stretch of a tie bar which is generated from the mold touch.

Mold clamping force adjustment device of toggle type injection molding machine

A crosshead position Cf for obtaining a set mold clamping force is obtained based on a mold touch position Ct obtained in mold clamping process in immediately preceding molding cycle, and a crosshead is allowed to move to the position Cf. During that time, it is determined whether a load La of a servomotor for mold clamping operation which drives a toggle mechanism exceeds a judgment load Ls, and a crosshead position Ca when the load La exceeds the judgment load Ls is stored as a mold touch position. In the next molding cycle, a crosshead position Cf where the set mold clamping force is obtained is obtained based on this stored mold touch position.

A screw is rotated at a set speed and retreated by performing back pressure control for keeping a resin pressure at a set pressure. When the retreat position of the screw reaches a change point set nearby a set metering completion position, the back pressure control for keeping the resin pressure at a set resin pressure is stopped. A command for positioning the screw at a metering completion position is output to position the screw at the metering completion position. At the same time, when a screw position reaches the change point, the screw is reversed by a set value at a set speed.

By starting injection, resin pressure in front of the check valve is raised, and the check ring moves backward. Pressure of resin accumulated between flights of the screw prevents the check ring from moving backward, and the screw is kept freely rotatable to thereby make the backward speed of the check ring faster. Therefore, the check ring is brought into tight contact with the check seat quickly to close the resin path. Thereafter, the rotation of the screw is fixed, reduced pressure in the injection/dwell causes the screw to rotate in a normal direction, and prevents the resin from being pressed toward the front of the check valve.

Injection molding machine having a freely rotatable screw

A method of and an apparatus for precisely determining a separating force of a molded product from a mold by an ejector in an injection molding machine. A load exerted on an ejector mechanism in operation without a product molded in the mold is constituted by an inner resistance of the ejector mechanism. The inner resistance includes frictional force produced within the ejector mechanism and resilient forces of springs for returning ejector pins to retracted positions thereof. On the other hand, the load exerted on the ejector mechanism in operation with a product molded in the mold is constituted by the inner resistance and the separating force of the molded product from the mold. Thus, a difference between the loads detected in driving the ejector mechanism with and without a molded product at each ejector position precisely represents the separating force of the molded product from the mold. Judgment on defectiveness/non-defectiveness of the molded product, and abnormality of the injection molding operation and the ejector mechanism are performed more precisely based on the determined separating force of the molded product.

Method of and apparatus for determining separating force of molded product from mold

An excessive load detection device for an injection molding machine capable of detecting an excessive load exerted on the injection screw when the screw is driven with resin remaining unmolten in the heating cylinder. An output torque of the servomotor for axially moving the screw is limited to a predetermined value by a torque limiter and the screw is driven to move forward in a direction of injection by a predetermined amount at a predetermined velocity. If reference time elapses before the axial motion of the set amount is completed or a position deviation exceeds a reference value, it is determined that the remaining resin has low fluidity to cause an excessive load on the screw and an alarm is issued. When the axial motion of the screw is completed without an alarm, the screw is moved backward and forward alternately predetermined times. A servomotor for rotating the screw is driven in the same manner to detect an excessive load on the screw. Since the excessive load on the screw is directly detected, the excessive load is securely detected.
