In a portable type information input and output apparatus having a portable housing, the control unit performs a control to determine whether a detected output by a first sensor (light sensor or atmospheric pressure sensor) for detecting a first environmental change in three-dimensional space exceeds a threshold value or not, and to execute command by regarding all or part of information obtained by a second sensor (acceleration sensor, angular velocity sensor, direction sensor, atmospheric pressure sensor or temperature sensor) for detecting a second environmental change in the three-dimensional space as an input information, and to generate an output signal according to the second environmental change in the three-dimensional space based on the input information, and to output the generated output signal as a vibration information from an information output device composed of at least one vibration device.

An electronic device that prevents a failure caused by a temperature drift of an angular velocity sensor, and a signal compensation system and a signal compensation method for compensating for the temperature drift are provided. The present invention provides a mechanism including an angular velocity sensor that outputs a first signal in accordance with a rotational angular velocity. The device stores in advance data of a second signal normally output by the angular velocity sensor while in a stationary state, detects a stationary state and extracts the difference between the first and second signals when the stationary state is detected. The device thereby compensates for the first signal based on the extracted difference signal. A display unit in the device scrolls an image based on the compensated signal. This prevents a failure caused by the temperature drift of the angular velocity sensor.

Device names and device control parameters are registered in a content table of a terminal. These device names and control parameters are each associated in the content table with partial images forming a total image. A user causes an arbitrary partial image to be displayed on a display screen of the terminal by moving the position of the total image relative to the display screen. After reading the device name and the control parameters corresponding to the arbitrary partial image from the content table, the terminal remotely controls the targeted terminal based on the information read. Therefore, the targeted device and the control description thereof can be selected using a simple operation, such as moving the position of the image to be displayed on the display screen. The addition or replacement of targeted devices can be easily accommodated by updating the content table.

Information providing system

An information input apparatus, an information input method, and an information input sheet which a user can easily operate without directly having to become aware of hardware are provided. An information input sheet includes a display area having an input information area and an identification area in which an identification code of the input information is provided. The identification code of the input information is provided in the display area as a target pattern having a rotation mode in which a code is defined by a directional orientation of the target pattern. An image pickup unit generates imaging information from imaging the information input sheet. The imaging information includes imaging information of the identification area of the information input sheet. Based on this imaging information of the identification area, the rotation mode of the target pattern, as recognized by an image recognition unit, is determined. The rotation mode specifies the identification code of the information input sheet. Information on the information input sheet is authenticated by authentication processing means.

Information input method, information input sheet, and information input apparatus

An information input method and interface, which can easily be operated without direct awareness of hardware, are provided. Image recognition is performed with an image recognition unit on image information obtained from imaging a target pattern on an object surface and an access indication pattern created by a user. The input patterns are created with an image pickup unit. The target pattern is associated with corresponding information stored in a storage unit. An access indication input which specifies a subset of the information is generated by performing image recognition on the access indication pattern. A control operation corresponding to the access indication input is performed in response to the access indication input by a control unit.
