A stereo image pickup unit includes: first and second image pickup apparatuses including first and second image pickup devices and first and second mount boards, the image pickup apparatuses being formed in a same shape each other; and a holding frame for holding the first and second image pickup devices, the first and second mount boards including non-mounting surfaces perpendicular to rear surfaces of the first and second image pickup devices and projecting toward an outer side of projection surfaces of the first and second image pickup devices, the holding frame holding the first and second image pickup apparatuses such that the non-mounting surfaces are opposed to each other on a parallax direction inner side.

Stereo image pickup unit

An image pickup unit of the present invention includes an image sensor, a connection board, a circuit board, a cable, and protection material. If an external force acts in a direction orthogonal to an extension direction of the cable, the whole of the circuit board, which is a rigid body, is displaced relative to an electrode portion of the image sensor by the external force. In response to the displacement of the circuit board, the connection board is displaced so that a curve radius of a curved portion changes, between a first land portion connected to the image sensor and a second land portion connected to the circuit board, and thereby a load by the external force transmitted to the image sensor from the cable through the circuit board is reduced.

Image pickup unit and endoscope

An image pickup apparatus is provided with a prism unit, two solid image pickup devices, two FPCs electrically connected to the solid image pickup devices and on which an electronic component is mounted, respectively, and two communication cables for supplying power to the electronic components through the FPCs and carrying out signal transmission/receiving with the solid image pickup devices, in which a first communication cable and a second communication cable are arranged adjacently and disposed so that a line connecting a center of the first communication cable to a center of the second communication cable is in a diagonal direction of an incident face of the second solid image pickup device in a plane perpendicular to an optical axis O of an objective lens unit.

Image pickup apparatus and endoscope apparatus incorporating the same

An image pickup unit according to the present invention, includes a solid-state image pickup device provided with a light receiving portion for receiving photographing light refracted and reflected by a reflection surface of an optical reflection member. The image pickup unit also includes a protection member which is surface-joined to and to protect at least the area of an effective reflection surface within the reflection surface by which the photographing light is refracted and made incident on the light receiving portion. Thereby, when the image pickup unit is provided in an electronic endoscope including the optical component for refracting and reflecting the photographing light, it is possible to improve the assembling property of the image pickup unit including the optical component, and possible to prevent the optical component from being damaged under various environment.

Image pickup device with a protection member and an optical reflection member

An endoscope in accordance with the present invention provides an endoscope having an image pickup apparatus and including a first connection portion provided on one side surface of a first solid-state image pickup device to connect the first solid-state image pickup device to a first circuit board, and a second connection portion provided on one side surface of a second solid-state image pickup device to connect the second solid-state image pickup device to a second circuit board, the first solid-state image pickup device and the second solid-state image pickup device being arranged in proximity to each other so that a side surface of the first solid-state image pickup device which does not have the first connection portion lies opposite to a side surface of the second solid-state image pickup device which does not have the second connection portion.
