A power device for a window regulator is disclosed. The window regulator is of a type which regulates a window pane by moving pull-up and pull-down drive cables connected to the window pane. The power device comprises a motor-powered driving part which includes an output shaft which has a regular polygonal cross section; and a cable winder part including a drum about which the pull-up and pull-down drive cables are wound, the drum having a coupling bore to which the output shaft is engaged, the coupling bore having a regular polygonal star-like cross section with equally spaced angular recesses. The number of the equally spaced angular recesses of the coupling bore is integral times as many as that of the angles of the polygonally cross-sectioned output shaft.

Power device of window regulator

A roller unit of a window regulator is movably engaged with a guide rail of a U-shaped cross section. The guide rail has a pair of parallel side walls one of which is formed with a longitudinal groove of a V-shaped cross section and the other is formed to be planar. The roller unit includes a pair of convexly surfaced rollers in rolling contact with the grooved side wall and a flat surfaced roller in rolling contact with the planar side wall. The flat surfaced roller is movable toward and away from the planar side wall and urged against the same by a spring.

Window regulator

Herein disclosed is an improved door window pane guide device which comprises a guide rail having a substantially right-angled side wall which is curled at its leading end portion to form a tubular guide portion, and a carrier unit which is movable along the guide rail together with a window pane secured to the carrier unit. The carrier unit has two plastic sliders which are respectively formed with aligned rectangular grooves into which the tubular guide portion of the guide rail is slidably received upon assembly of the window pane guide device. In order to prevent disengagement of the first and second sliders from the tubular guide portion of the guide rail, an axially extending lug portion is formed on each of the first and second sliders to narrow the entrance portion of the groove, or another slider is arranged between the first and second sliders, which has a right-angled head which slidably engages with the tubular guide portion in a manner to restrict displacement of the first and second sliders in a direction away from the tubular guide portion.

A winding device for cables which is used to wind cables round take-up drums along grooves provided on the outer circumferences thereof, said grooves formed such that the cables will not cause chafing against the side walls of the grooves, so that no unusual noise is caused or the cables will not be worn severely during operation. This winding device can be applied to a window regulator for automobiles.

A wire compensator which is used in a window regulator for raising and lowering a window glass of a motor car door by driving wires connected to the window glass, said wire compensator can absorb elongation occurred in the wires due to tensions repeatedly applied to the wires by means of a pair of levers being rotatable by a spring, so that the wires can be kept stretched at a predetermined tensile strength.
