A particle accelerator includes: a pair of magnetic poles disposed to face each other; a coil which surrounds each of the magnetic poles and generates a first magnetic flux density directing from the magnetic pole on one side to the magnetic pole on the other side; a foil stripper provided on a circling orbit of charged particles to strip off electrons from the charged particles; and a magnetic flux density adjustment unit which generates a second magnetic flux density directing in an opposite direction to a direction of the first magnetic flux density, in which the magnetic flux density adjustment unit makes an absolute value of magnetic flux density at a position of the foil stripper when viewed in a plan view smaller than an absolute value of the first magnetic flux density.

Particle accelerator

A cyclotron includes: a regenerator configured to move a beam of a charged particle on an orbit outward in a radial direction; and a magnetic channel configured to put the beam on an extraction orbit. The regenerator includes a pair of magnetic members for a regenerator. The magnetic member for a regenerator includes a first portion including a portion approaching the median plane as it goes outward in a radial direction and having an apex closest to the median plane. When viewed from the circumferential direction, assuming that a distance between the centerline of the apex in the radial direction and a first reference position set on a radially inner end side of the first portion is a first distance and a distance between the centerline and a second reference position set on a radially outer end side of the first portion is a second distance, the first distance is greater than the second distance.

Cyclotron

An accelerator includes an inflector through which a beam entering from an ion source passes and which introduces the beam to an acceleration orbit. The inflector includes a beam convergence unit that converges the beam passing through the inflector. A cyclotron, which accelerates a beam in a convoluted acceleration orbit, includes magnetic poles, D-electrodes, and an inflector. The magnetic poles generate a magnetic field in a direction perpendicular to the acceleration orbit. The D-electrodes generate a potential difference, which accelerates the beam, in the acceleration orbit. A beam, which enters in an incident direction perpendicular to the acceleration orbit, passes through the inflector, and the inflector bends the beam so as to introduce the beam to the acceleration orbit. The inflector includes a beam convergence unit that converges the beam passing through the inflector.

Accelerator and cyclotron

A computer network includes a plurality of computer nodes each including a file system and a central processing unit usable by other computer nodes and which are connected to each other via a communication medium. Each respective computer node has a capability of issuing a transfer request requesting management information, including user log-in information, active process information, and so forth, to another computer node over the communication medium. The computer node receiving the transfer request collects its own management information and transfers it to the computer node which issued the transfer request through the communication medium.

Computer network system for collecting distributed management information

A magnetic head device incorporated in magnetic recording and playback equipment for recording and reproducing information from a magnetic disk. The device has a magnetic head which is formed with a plurality of grooves in the surface thereof that is to face a magnetic disk. The grooves reduce the friction acting between the head and the disk during operation and thereby allows the head to slide on the disk stably with a minimum of spacing loss.

Information with respect to a requested user who accessed a node and information with respect to a process activated in the node are stored in a file system. By successively tracking nodes accessed by the user, a path through which the user accessed the network is tracked. When the path of the network entered different management domains, a tracking operation is requested to nodes in the management domains. The results are collected and transferred to the requesting node.

Distributed computer network for tracking the access path of a user

A dual magnetic head capable of reducing unneccessary magnetic flux developed in erase cores. The dual magnetic head includes a first read/write core (30) having a first gap width (34) and extending in a track direction in which the tracks will be formed on a magnetic recording medium, a second read/write core (10) having a second read/write gap (14) with a width greater than the first gap width, and juxtaposed to the first read/write core (30) in a perpendicular direction to the track direction; and an erase core (20) having a pair of erase gaps (24, 25) located at opposite ends of the second read/write gap (14) with respect to the perpendicular direction, the erase core (20) being juxtaposed to the first read/write core (30) in the perpendicular direction and juxtaposed to the second read/write core (10) in the track direction, at least one of the facing surfaces of the erase core (20) which define the erase gaps (24, 25) therebetween being provided with an undulation. The undulation can be in the form of either a saw-tooth-like section or a waveform-like section.
