In order to provide a roll connector structure for a vehicle in which there is no complicated or complex wiring in the steering wheel and the space within the steering wheel can be utilized efficiently, a roll connector structure for a vehicle including a stator side casing which is fixed to a steering column, a rotor side casing which is mounted to the stator side casing and rotates integrally with a steering wheel, and a cable which is accommodated between the stator side casing and the rotor side casing, wherein at least one steering switch is connected to the rotor side casing without wiring, is provided.

Roll connector structure for a vehicle

An input device for use in a vehicle for inputting settings pertaining to a driver's intention of acceleration and deceleration includes a running mode selection switch and an acceleration/deceleration switch. A plurality of modes, for example, a manual speed change mode, an automatic speed change mode, a speed setting mode, and a distance-between-cars setting mode, are selectively set in the running mode selection switch. The acceleration/deceleration switch allows an accelerating or decelerating operation in correspondence to the selected mode. Operation switches which have been conventionally provided separately for each of functions are integrated into two parts, that is, the running mode selection switch and the acceleration/deceleration switch. After a desired mode has been selected, a desired function can be realized only by operation corresponding to a driver's intention of acceleration or deceleration. Accordingly, even if the driver is not experienced in using a plurality of functions, more reasonable operation suited for human perception and reaction allows the driver to become easily accustomed to use the device.

A buckle device for a car seatbelt system is used together with a plurality of tongue plates to which occupant securing webbings are connected. Lock members for engaging the tongue plates are released upon operating a single release button. The shifting direction of the release button is confined in a plane defined by the insertion directions of the tongue plates. The operation force of the release button is transmitted to the lock members via a mechanism for example cam-contact or link mechanism. Therefore, the operation necessary for a passenger at the time of release is only to push the release button. There is no need to hold or pinch the buckle device at any time.

Buckle device for seatbelt system

A webbing retractor which, when a webbing is drawn out instantaneously, prevents the drawing out of the webbing by operating a lock mechanism. In addition, when a vehicle is decelerated suddenly, the drawing out of the webbing is also instantaneously prevented by causing a pawl to engage with a lock wheel preventing the lock wheel from rotating. The webbing retractor includes a lever which is swung in such a manner as to be movable between a first position in which the pawl is made unengageable with the lock wheel and a second position in which the pawl is made engageable with the lock wheel. The webbing retraction also includes a lever swing member which causes the lever to be located in the first position as the take-up shaft rotates in a webbing taking-up direction and to be situated in the second position as the take-up shaft rotates in a webbing draw-out direction. Accordingly, the pawl is prevented from engaging with the lock wheel at a take-up limit of the webbing.

Webbing retractor

A webbing retractor for winding a webbing which is fastened around a seat occupant of a vehicle is arranged such that a claw member is engaged with a ratchet wheel fixed to a webbing take-up shaft and rotation of the take-up shaft in a direction in which the webbing is drawn out is thereby prevented when the speed of the vehicle suddenly reduces. Engagement of the claw member with the ratchet wheel is achieved by engaging a rotary wheel which is rotated in the same direction as that in which the take-up shaft is rotated with a driving plate which drives the claw member to cause it to be engaged with the ratchet wheel through a cam ring and an engaging lever. In consequence, the rotational force of the rotary wheel is reliably transmitted to the driving plate by means of the cam ring and the engaging lever.

A child passenger seat includes a shell mounted on and secured to a seat of a vehicle and supporting a webbing which restrains the body of a child passenger in an emergency situation of the vehicle. The child passenger seat further includes a cover which is fitted over the shell and provided with a pocket for accommodating a cushioning pad. Accordingly, it is possible for the pad to be removed from the cover so as to be replaced or washed.

A child passenger securing apparatus for use in a vehicle includes a body which has a seat portion and a backrest portion and which defines a hollow portion extending from the seat portion to the backrest portion. A portion of a webbing unwound from a retractor secured within the hollow portion of the seat portion is passed through the hollow portion and led out from a lead-out portion provided in the backrest portion so that a child passenger is fastened by this portion of the webbing. Accordingly, the webbing is prevented from contacting a seat for an adult passenger on which the apparatus is mounted, so that the webbing moves smoothly when it is unwound and rewound.

Child passenger securing apparatus for use in vehicle

A child passenger securing apparatus includes an apparatus body which is provided with a child passenger restraining webbing. One end of the webbing is led into the inside of the body, passed through a through-hole provided in a fixed plate, passed over an engaging portion of a lock plate and then turned up in such a manner that its direction is reversed, and is then passed through the through-hole again in the opposite direction. Accordingly, the fixed and lock plates are disposed below the seat portion of the apparatus body, and this allows the surface of the seat portion to be flattened. Since the lock plate is slidable along the fixed plate, the tension which acts on the webbing causes the lock plate to slide relative to the fixed plate so as to clamp an intermediate portion of the webbing, and the webbing tension is thereby reliably born.

Child passenger securing apparatus

A child restraining device is provided with a reclining mechanism including a supporting member for supporting a child receiving vessel mounted rotatably in a step manner thereon through crank means. Accordingly, the vessel can be reclined readily in the step manner.

An automatic system for use in a motor vehicle has an outer webbing, both ends of which are secured to a vehicle door and an inner webbing, one end of which is connected to the intermediate portion of the outer webbing through a ring joint movable along the outer webbing and the other end of which is retracted by a retractor on a vehicle floor. A guide lever is provided at an inner side of an occupant's seat, which includes a main body fixed to the inner side of the seat and a webbing guide portion on the top of the main body. The webbing guide portion has an opening through which the inner webbing passes and is rotatable around an axis extending laterally of the vehicle, whereby the webbing guide portion presents a suitable position and angle to guide the inner webbing at any condition, for example, with or without an occupant on the seat.

Automatic seatbelt system

Automatically fastening seatbelt system, wherein an anchor plate engaged with one of restraining webbings is connected through a support device to a driving force transmitting member and made movable along a guide rail, whereby the webbings are automatically fastened to an occupant, a release device is provided at a predetermined position in the longitudinal direction of the guide rail, and the operation of the support device is released by the operation of the release device to release the anchor plate from the guide rail.

Automatically fastening seatbelt system

An automatic seatbelt system which has a flexible tape extending continuously along a vehicle body form a roof side portion through a center pillar to a door so as to move a shoulder webbing connected to the roof side portion and a lab webbing connected to the door at the same time by a single driving sprocket wheel in response to an occupant entering or leaving a vehicle. The tape has a plurality of openings along the longitudinal direction thereof and the sprocket wheel is meshed with the tape by the openings. A shoulder guide rail is provided along the roof side portion of the vehicle body, within which a shoulder guide member guiding the shoulder webbing and connected to the trape is slidably received. A lap guide rail is provided along the door, within which a lap guide member guiding the lap webbing and connected to the tape is slidably received. When the sprocket wheel rotates, both shoulder and lap seatbelt webbings are simultaneously moved through the tape toward either the front side of the vehicle to provide an enough space for the occupant to enter the vehicle, or the rear side of the vehicle to place the webbings over the occupant at a seat.

An automatic seatbelt system in which a pair of sprocket wheels are driven by a single driving motor to move both shoulder and lap webbings in response to an occupant entering or leaving a vehicle. A flexible shoulder tape is connected to the shoulder webbing through a guide member slidable along a roof side of the vehicle, and extends along a vehicle body to mesh with one of the sprocket wheel. A flexible lap tape is connected to the lap webbing through a guide member slidable along an inner surface of a vehicle door, and extends along the vehicle door and body to mesh with the other of the sprocket wheel. When the sprocket wheels rotate, both shoulder and lap seatbelt webbings are simultaneously moved through the tapes toward either the front side of the vehicle to provide an enough space for the occupant to enter the vehicle, or the rear side of the vehicle to place the webbings over the occupant at a seat.

A section of a webbing between a takeup shaft and an occupant fastened portion thereof is guided around a roller pivotally supported on a rotatable plate, and the rotatable plate adapted to be rotated by an increased tension of the webbing is caused to approach a lock bar to clamp the webbing between the roller and the lock bar, whereby the movement of the webbing in the longitudinal direction thereof is prevented, so that an occupant can be restrained. The roller is prevented from rotating by lock means when the occupant is restrained, whereby the webbing is decreased in tension at the portion of the roller, so that an abrupt change in tension at the clamped portion of the webbing between the roller and the lock bar can be prevented, thereby enabling to avoid breakage of the webbing.

Webbing locking device

A webbing locking device for clamping the intermediate portion of an occupant restraining portion by means of a pair of friction members provided on a frame and a lock lever, respectively, in an emergency of a vehicle, including a roller, around which the intermediate portion of the webbing is guided. This roller smoothly guides the webbing by use of holding means during normal running condition of a vehicle, however, in an emergency of the vehicle, moves in the radial direction thereof to come into contact with frictional contact means to thereby be subjected to a friction resistance, whereby a tension in the webbing in the clamped portion is reduced, so that the webbing in the clamped portion can avoid breakage.
