The present invention relates to a method for evaluating phagocytic capacity of phagocytes, including incorporating a fluorescent substance into phagocytes in a sample containing whole blood to obtain a measurement sample, standing the measurement sample for 2 minutes or more, measuring the fluorescence of the fluorescent substance, and evaluating the phagocytic capacity of phagocytes based on the intensity of the measured fluorescence, in which the measuring the fluorescence of the fluorescent substance includes irradiating an intermediate region of gravity direction of a placed measurement sample with an excitation light, and detecting the fluorescence generated from the fluorescent substance by the excitation light.

Method for evaluating phagocytic capacity and fluorescence measurement method

Provided is a measurement container including a container body where a first region, a second region, and an intermediate region are continuously formed as an accommodation space accommodating a sample and an inlet is formed and a rotor which is arranged in the second region and rotated by an effect of magnetic force. The container body includes a wall portion which defines the accommodation space and at least a portion of which has a light transmitting property and a partitioning portion which partitions the intermediate region into one side and the other side in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The partitioning portion partitions the intermediate region into the one side and the other side so that a communication region which allows the one side and the other side to communicate with each other in the intermediate region remains.

Measurement container

A measurement apparatus includes a sample stage, an excitation unit, a light receiving unit, a stimulant applying nozzle, and a spray nozzle in a measurement space inside a body case, and also includes a heating unit and a gas supplying unit. The body case includes an inner case surrounding the measurement space, and an outer case surrounding the inner case to shield the measurement space from light from the outside and seal the measurement space. The heating unit is disposed between the inner case and the outer case and adjusts temperature in the measurement space through the inner case. The gas supplying unit supplies gas having controlled temperature and humidity into the measurement space and adjusts temperature and humidity in the measurement space.

A biological growth inhibition factor assay method includes: a first step of mixing a photosynthetic sample, with an aqueous solution sample to prepare a test measurement solution, letting the test measurement solution stand, and then after illuminating light onto the test measurement solution for a predetermined illumination time, measuring the light amount of the delayed fluorescence that is emitted; a second step of mixing the photosynthetic sample with a standard sample, in which biological growth inhibition factors are not present, to prepare a standard measurement solution, letting the standard measurement solution stand, and then after illuminating light onto the standard measurement solution for a predetermined illumination time, measuring the light amount of the delayed fluorescence that is emitted; and a third step of computing assay values based on the light amounts of delayed fluorescence, respectively measured in the first step and the second step, and determining a comparison value of the assay values to assay biological growth inhibition factors. A biological growth inhibition factor assay method that enables analysis of a wide range of inhibition factors in a short time is thereby realized.

Magnetic head assembly

A magnetroresistive element formed by laminating a plurality of metallic magnetoresistance effect films having magnetostriction of different signs on a substrate. The magnetoresistive element can be formed to exhibit zero magnetostriction or to exhibit magnetostriction of any desired value. Further, the magnetoresistive element exhibits magnetostriction that changes little with the change in the film composition.
