An antenna element is provided with an upper conductor, lower conductors, leg portions and feeding portions. The upper conductor is formed with aperture portions. The upper conductor has a middle portion, a ring portion and coupling portions. The ring portion is located apart from the middle portion and continuously surrounds the middle portion. The aperture portions are located between the middle portion and the ring portion in plan view. Each of the coupling portions couples the middle portion onto the ring portion. The leg portions extend from the ring portion. The lower conductors are apart from the upper conductor in an up-down direction and connected to the leg portions. the feeding portions extend from the upper conductor.

Antenna element and antenna device

First and second slot edge portions of a conductive main portion are long in a first direction and sandwich a slot in a second direction. An open portion is formed a part different from the first slot edge portion and opens the slot outside the conductive main portion. A first part of a radiation element extends from an end portion of the first slot edge portion in the second direction. A second part of the radiation element extends from an end portion of the first part in the first direction. An additional element extends from the second part toward a second specific area through a first specific area. In a third direction, the first specific area and the second specific area overlap with the first slot edge portion and the second slot edge portion, respectively.

Multiband antenna

An antenna element comprises an upper conductor, first lower conductors, second lower conductors, first leg portions, second leg portions and feeding portions. The upper conductor has a middle portion, a ring portion and coupling portions. The ring portion continuously surrounds the middle portion, and the coupling portions couple the middle portion and the ring portion to each other. The first leg portions extend from the middle portion, and the second leg portions extend from the ring portion. The first lower conductors and the second lower conductors are distinct and separated from one another and are apart from the upper conductor in an up-down direction. The first lower conductors are connected to the first leg portions, and the second lower conductors are connected to the second leg portions. The feeding portions extend from the upper conductor.

A multiband antenna is connected to a host conductor when used. The multiband antenna extends long in a first direction. The multiband antenna has a conductor main portion and a ground terminal. The conductor main portion extends in a horizontal plane which is defined by the first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The conductor main portion is formed with an opening and a slot. The slot extends long in the first direction. The conductor main portion has a first short edge, a second short edge, a first long edge and a second long edge. The ground terminal is connected to the host conductor when the multiband antenna is used. The ground terminal extends from the second long edge. The ground terminal is positioned closer to the first short edge than to the second short edge in the first direction.

An antenna device comprises a plurality of antennas. The antennas include first antennas which form a first array and second antennas which form a second array. The first antennas include two first predetermined antennas arranged along a first line. A longitudinal direction of one of the first predetermined antennas and another longitudinal direction of a remaining one of the first predetermined antennas intersect with each other and define a horizontal plane. Each first antenna mainly radiates a horizontally polarized wave which is in parallel to the horizontal plane. Each second antenna mainly radiates a vertically polarized wave which is perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The second antennas include two second predetermined antennas arranged along a second line. When the first and second lines are projected onto the horizontal plane along a direction perpendicular to the horizontal plane, the first and second lines intersect with each other.

Antenna device

An antenna includes antenna elements provided one by one on the respective sides of a substantially rectangular conductor plate. Each of the antenna elements includes a feeding wire and a split ring conductor having a shape in which a ring is partially cut by a split part. The feeding wire is electrically connected to the split ring conductor and extends in a direction across a region formed inside the split ring conductor. Two antenna elements provided on two arbitrary sides facing each other of the conductor plate among the four antenna elements are each supplied with power through the feeding wire included in each antenna element so as to have substantially the same direction of an electric field in a polarization direction.

Antenna, board and communication device

A split ring resonator includes a first conductive member having a split ring shape, a second conductive member, and a third conductive member. The second and third conductive members have a split therebetween and are electrically connected with different ends of the first conductive member. The second conductive member includes a first portion belonging to a first layer substantially parallel to a plane to which the first conductive member belongs, a second portion belonging to a second layer substantially parallel to the plane and facing the first layer, and a third portion electrically connecting the first and second portions. The third conductive member includes fourth and fifth portion respectively belonging to the first and second layers, and a sixth portion electrically connecting the fourth and fifth portions. At least parts of the first and fifth portions face each other in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane.

Split ring resonator and communication device

Antenna has a split ring resonator. Moreover, the antenna is provided with a first conductor and a second conductor which form, at least in part, an open stub or a short stub which has a predetermined electrical length. With this structure, the antenna can have a plurality of operating frequencies.

A multiband antenna comprises a slot antenna and a radiation element. The slot antenna has a conductive plate. The conductive plate is formed with an opening portion and a slot. The slot partially opens through the opening portion. The slot extends long in a first direction. The radiation element has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion extends from the conductive plate toward an orientation away from the slot in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The first portion has a first length in the second direction. The second portion extends in the first direction from the first portion. The second portion has a second length in the first direction. The second length is greater than the first length.

The present invention provides a phase control plate including n layers (n&#x2265;4) of overlapping admittance sheets (-to-) each of which includes a plurality of plane unit cells, in which an admittance of a first plane unit cell included in an admittance sheet in a layer a (1&#x2264;a&#x2264;n) and an admittance of a second plane unit cell being included in an admittance sheet in a layer b (1&#x2264;b&#x2264;n and b&#x2260;a) and overlapping the first plane unit cell are different from each other.

The present invention provides a polarization control plate including n layers (n&#x2265;4) of overlapping admittance sheets (-to-) each of which includes a plurality of plane unit cells, in which an admittance of a first plane unit cell included in an admittance sheet in a layer a (1&#x2264;a&#x2264;n) and an admittance of a second plane unit cell being included in an admittance sheet in a layer b (1&#x2264;b&#x2264;n and b&#x2260;a) and overlapping the first plane unit cell are different from each other, and an admittance of the plane unit cell in an x direction and an admittance of the plane unit cell in a y direction are different from each other.
