The rear frame includes a frame-like body and a protrusion. The protrusion projects from an inner surface of the frame-like body. A light source unit is disposed on the inner surface, and includes a point light source. The light incident surface on a side surface of the light guide plate faces a light-emitting surface with a gap. An abutting side surface of the light guide plate projects toward the inner surface. The protrusion is fitted to a recess on the abutting side surface. The joining medium joins the abutting side surface with the light source unit. Alternatively, a projecting portion of the light guide plate projects in a direction different from a direction in which the abutting side surface projects. The intermediate frame sandwiches the light guide plate together with the rear frame and includes a sandwiching portion. The sandwiching portion sandwiches the projecting portion.

Backlight and display apparatus

The protective plate protects a front surface of the display device. The protective plate includes a transparent base material, an organic resin film and a multilayer film. The transparent base material has a flat plate shape and includes a main surface. The organic resin film contains a pigment and is provided on an outer peripheral portion of the main surface of the transparent base material. The multilayer film includes at least two types of thin films each having different refractive indices to ultraviolet light. Each of the at least two types of thin films is made of an inorganic material. The multilayer film is provided between the main surface of the transparent base material and the organic resin film.

Protective plate and display device

A display device includes: a display panel; a circuit board; a connection member, which connects the display panel and the circuit board; a backlight, which is configured by a first frame and a second frame to be fitted with the first frame; and an insulation sheet, which is disposed between the first frame and the circuit board to shut off an electrical connection between the first frame and the circuit board, wherein the insulation sheet includes: a seating portion that is formed in a shape corresponding to a shape of the circuit board; and an extension portion that extends to a fitting portion of the first frame and a fitting portion of the second frame, which are fitted to each other, and is attached to cover the fitting portions of the first frame and the second frame.

A light source apparatus includes a light source, a light guide plate, a plurality of optical sheets, and an adhesive material. The light guide plate has an incident surface on which light from the light source is incident, and a light emitting surface from which the light on the incident surface is emitted. The plurality of optical sheets are disposed to overlap one another on the light emitting surface. The adhesive material fixes positions of the plurality of optical sheets. The plurality of optical sheets include respective extension portions each formed by bending an extension of a peripheral portion of the optical sheet to face a side surface of the light guide plate. The respective extension portions are aligned with displacements so as not to completely overlap one another, and the adhesive material is applied to the respective extension portions.

Light source apparatus and display

A first rear member is arranged on a rear surface of a display member. A second rear member has a shape surrounding a side surface of the first rear member. The second rear member is attached from a rear surface side of the first rear member to house the first rear member. An interconnect member connected to the display member extends between the side surface of the first rear member and the second rear member. An end portion of the interconnect member is inserted in an insertion part having an opening formed in the side surface of the first rear member. A condition where the interconnect member is inserted in the first rear member is maintained before and after attachment of the second rear member.

Display device and method of manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display apparatus includes: a color filter substrate including a first transparent, which has: an anti-static transparent conductive layer; and a light shield layer that shields light; a TFT substrate including a second transparent substrate facing the color filter substrate, and which has: a projecting part that projects beyond an end face of the color filter substrate; a conductive tape, which is stuck from an upper part of the color filter substrate to an upper part of the TFT substrate, wherein the light shield layer has a notch having an opening at the end side of the color filter substrate, wherein the conductive tape is arranged adjacent to or partially overlapping with the light shield layer, wherein the notch is provided at a connection part, and wherein a light transmission part capable of light transmitting is provided to the connection part.

Liquid crystal display apparatus

A transflective liquid crystal display device provided with columnar spacers is provided that can suppress variation in color tone of white in a reflective mode and can minimize degradation in reflectivity even when a coloring material used for a transmissive region and a coloring material used for a reflective region are the same. The device includes a color filter substrate, a TFT substrate, a liquid crystal material sandwiched by the color filter substrate and the TFT substrate, columnar spacers formed only in pixels having a green coloring material and defining a cell gap, and light-blocking portions provided only in predetermined regions in the vicinity of locations where the columnar spacers are formed.

The optical window retainer ( ) is placed in a region outside a boundary line given as Zh(x)&equals;&plusmn;(1&times;tan(&thgr;e)(x&plusmn;Xu)&plus;u (plus (&plus;) when x&lE;&minus;Xu; minus (&minus;) when x&gE;Xu) and also in aregion outside the optical path (Zr(x)). The light source device suppresses an uneven illuminance distribution of exposure light resulting from superimposition of light scattered from the opening wall surface of the optical window retainer upon the exposure light.

Light source device, exposure apparatus and cathode ray tube panel

An apparatus for patterning a phosphor screen on the faceplate of a cathode-ray tube has a main lens that refracts light to simulate electron-beam trajectories. The main lens includes a fixed lens with a curved surface, and at least one replaceable flat element. The apparatus also has at least one sub-lens, with a curved surface, that can be substituted for the flat element to compensate for inaccurate simulation of the electron-beam trajectories. The flat element and the sub-lens have the same thickness, so that substitution of the one for the other does not produce an unintended shifting of light paths. Preferred sub-lenses include lenses having surfaces described by a bilaterally symmetric cosine function, and by a product of a sine function and a linear function.
