An object of the present disclosure is to reduce noise caused by a return current. Connector assembly includes first connector and second connector to which first connector is fitted from above. First connector includes first shield and first specific terminal. Second connector includes second specific terminal. First shield has first opposed portion facing first specific terminal on second axis in the fitted state. The first specific terminal includes first terminal proximity portion in which a distance to first opposed portion on second axis is smaller than a distance between the second specific terminal and the first opposed portion on second axis in the fitted state. A projected area obtained by projecting the first wide face onto virtual plane orthogonal to second axis is greater than a projected area obtained by projecting the first narrow face onto the virtual plane.

Connector assembly

A polyester-grafted starch-polymer alloy is capable of imparting practical flexibility and toughness to moldings with no or only a little plasticizer. The polyester-grafted starch-polymer alloy comprises a blend of a polyester-grafted starch (a starch which has polyester graft chains on the starch molecule, with the terminal hydroxyl groups of the polyester graft chains and the hydroxyl groups connected directly to the starch entirely or partly blocked with the ester group) and an independent polyester (a polyester which is constructed of the same unit as said polyester graft chain, with its terminal hydroxyl groups entirely or partly blocked with the ester group) which are uniformly mixed together. A method of preparing the alloy and thermoplastic resin compositions containing the alloy also are disclosed.

A starch derivative which, when incorporated with no or only a little plasticizer, yields moldings having good flexibility, toughness, and water-relating properties for practical use comprises an esterified, polyvinyl ester-grafted starch derivative which is formed by esterifying starch and grafting starch with a polyvinyl ester. The polyvinyl ester is derived from one or more saturated or unsaturated aliphatic acids or aromatic carboxylic acids having 2 to 18 carbon atoms.

A starch derivative which, when incorporated with no or only a little plasticizer, yields moldings having good flexibility, toughness, and water-relating properties for practical use is an esterified, polyester-grafted starch which is formed by esterifying starch and grafting the starch with polyester. The esterification involves the introduction of one or more acyl groups consisting of saturated or unsaturated aliphatic acid groups or aromatic carboxylic acid groups having 2 to 18 carbon atoms and the polyester is one which is formed from one or more 4- to 12-membered lactones by ring-opening polymerization, with the terminal hydroxyl groups being almost completely blocked by esterification.

Esterfied, polyester-grafted starch

An oxygen sensor includes a hollow tubular element made of a solid electrolyte capable of conducting oxygen ions. The inner surface of the element is exposed to the atmosphere, and the outer surface thereof is exposed to an exhaust gas of which the oxygen concentration is to be detected. First and second electrodes are arranged on the inner and outer surfaces of the element, respectively. The second electrode is provided with a coating which contains a catalyst for causing and promoting a water gas reaction of carbon monoxide contained in the exhaust gas approaching the second electrode. Alternatively, a large number of pellets containing the catalyst are charged in the space between the tubular element and a protective tube surrounding the element.

A nitride based ceramic cutting tool is described comprising from 50 to 90% by weight Si.sub.2 N.sub.4, from 5 to 45% by weight TiN, and from 5 to 45% by weight sintering aid, said sintering aid comprising (1) at least one of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 and Dy.sub.2 O.sub.3 and (2) Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 alone or a mixture of AlN and Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, said mixture comprising from 5 to 65% by weight AlN, and the weight ratio of (1) at least one of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 and Dy.sub.2 O.sub.3 to (2) Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 alone or the AlN and Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 mixture being 3:1 to 1:3.

Nitride based cutting tool and method for producing the same

A method of making a coated tip for cutting purposes having a lower degree of flank and crater wear and reduced chipping. A WC-based ultrahard alloy containing WC, at least one nitride selected from among TiN, TaN and NbN and a bonding metal is heat treated at a temperature of 800.degree. C. to 1,300.degree. C. in a nitrogen atmosphere for a sufficiently long period of time to cause nitride in a layer in the vicinity of the surface of the alloy to move to the surface to form a layer of nitride thereon as well as an alloy layer of WC and the bonding metal in which the nitride has been reduced. The surface of the tip is then coated with a layer of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3.

A ceramic throw-away tip which comprises a hot-pressed sinter of Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 on the surface of which is a thin coating of at least one of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and AlON.

Ceramic throw-away tips and process for producing the same

A process for producing an alumina sintered product is disclosed wherein the starting alumina mixture contains about 0.01 to 0.55% by weight of MgO and 0.5 to 5.5% by weight of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3. The process yields a sintered product having a porosity on the order of less than 0.1% by volume and an average crystal grain size of about 2 microns or less and is particularly suitable for use in high speed microfinish cutting.

Alumina sintered products and process for their production

A sintered ceramics for cutting tools having a relative apparent density of not less than 98% is obtained by sintering a mixture substantially consisting of 80-95% by volume alumina and the balance of titanium nitride and Zr-containing component(s) such as Zr, ZrC and/or ZrN wherein the volumetric ratio of TiN /Zr-containing component(s) ranges 95/5-50/50 in vacuum and/or vacuum inert atmosphere. Although the present invention does not need any application of hot pressing or HIP process, the resultant ceramics has an improved abrasion resistance comparable to those obtained by the latter processes.

Ceramic materials for use in high-speed cutting, comprising Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.2 and at least one alkali earth oxide selected from CaO and MgO, the weight ratio of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 /ZrO.sub.2 is in the range from about 95/5 to 99.5/0.5, the molar ratio of (CaO+MgO)/ZrO.sub.2 is in the range from about 0.05/1 to 0.2/1, and at least 50% of the ZrO.sub.2 in the material is cubic ZrO.sub.2, and the remainder is monoclinic ZrO.sub.2.

Ceramic materials for high-speed cutting

A sintered ceramic body for use in cutting tools which has an average crystal grain size of not more than about 2.mu. and comprises about 60 to 95% by volume of (a) Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and the remainder being composed of (b) WC, provided that it may contain W.sub.2 C in which case the intensity ratio I.sub.W.sbsb.2.sub.C (101)/I.sub.WC (111) in X-ray diffraction using CuK.alpha. rays is not more than about 0.5, and (c) TiN, the volume ratio of components (b) to (c) being about 5:95 to 95:5.

Sintered ceramic body for cutting tools

An aluminum nitride sintered body, especially suitable as a material for high-speed cutting tools, having on the surface thereof a coating of alumina crystals having an average particle diameter of about 2.5 microns or less.
