A processing system for an input device comprises sensor circuitry. The sensor circuitry is configured to operate sensor electrodes for input sensing during a first sensing frame. During a first period of the first sensing frame the sensor circuitry is configured to drive a first portion of the sensor electrodes with a sensing signal, drive a second portion of the sensor electrodes with a guarding signal, and drive a third portion of the sensor electrodes with a reference signal. The guarding signal and the sensing signal have at least one characteristic in common selected from the group consisting of amplitude, phase and frequency. The third portion of the sensor electrodes overlaps a first gate line of a display panel selected for updating during the first period.

Reducing interference within a display panel while performing input sensing

A sensing device comprises sensor electrodes arranged in an array of rows and columns, and vias. A first vias is arranged in a first direction, and corresponds to a first column of sensor electrodes adjacent to a first side edge of the sensing device. A second via is arranged in a second direction different than the first direction, and corresponds to a second column of the sensor electrodes adjacent to a second side edge of the sensing device. Each of the sensor electrodes is configured to be coupled to a routing trace through one of the vias. In a first row of the plurality of sensor electrodes, a two vias are different distances from the first side edge and in a second row of the plurality of sensor electrodes, two vias are different distances from the second side edge.

Sensor electrode patterns for input devices

The semiconductor device is intended for connection with an in-cell type display touch panel having a plurality of common electrodes, a reference voltage for display is applied to the common electrodes in a display drive period, and the common electrodes serve as sensor electrodes in a touch detection period. The semiconductor device includes a DC level shift circuit operable to shift the DC level of a toggle signal output by a toggle drive circuit to the reference voltage. The semiconductor device supplies the reference voltage to the common electrodes of the display touch panel in the display drive period, and performs a guarding action in which at least a part of the plurality of common electrodes is supplied with a toggle signal shifted in DC level in the touch detection period.

Display device configured to operate display drive and touch sensing in time sharing manner and semiconductor device to be employed thereon

Embodiments herein include a device, system, and method for periodically capturing sensing signals using one or more detection electrodes to generate data for detecting an object proximate to the detection electrodes. The sensing signals are captured during detection periods within periodic detection cycles where each of the detection cycles define a period of time between consecutive detection periods. In addition, the device, system and method set a duration of the detection cycle to 1/m (where m is appositive integer) of a duration of a display-scan cycle. The value of m is selected based on a periodic noise signal. Thus, the device, system, and method may prevent a periodic noise signal which has a cycle that is longer than the detection period from worsening the accuracy of touch detection.
