Battery module includes: battery stack including a plurality of batteries; constraining members made of metal and each having flat surface portion extending in stacking direction of batteries along battery stack, constraining members sandwiching the plurality of batteries in stacking direction; and side separators that insulate constraining members and battery stack from each other. Side separator includes: first portion interposed between battery stack and flat surface portion; and biasing portions that protrude toward battery stack from one end portion region of first portion in a first direction that is an in-plane direction of flat surface portion and intersect with stacking direction, and bias the plurality of batteries toward the other end portion region of first portion in the first direction.

Battery module includes battery stack having a plurality of batteries stacked, each battery having a top surface provided with an output terminal, restraining member that has flat portion extending along side surfaces of the plurality of batteries in stacking direction of batteries and restrains the plurality of batteries, and side separator that has first portion interposed between each battery and flat portion and insulates each battery from flat portion. Each battery is disposed with gap from first portion, the gap being large enough to suppress movement of water due to capillarity.

Provided is a power supply device that is configured to dispose each of battery cells at an ideal position while stacking the battery cells to form a battery stack, the power supply device including: battery cells each having an outer covering can in a prismatic shape and having a constant cell thickness; end plates paired for covering both side end surfaces of the battery stack in which battery cells are stacked; and bind bars that are disposed on opposite side surfaces of the battery stack and coupled to the end plates. Bind bar includes pressing piece for pressing an upper surface of each of battery cells adjacent to each other. The power supply device further includes elastomer molding disposed between pressing piece and an upper surface of battery cell, and pressing piece elastically presses the upper surface of battery cell with elastomer molding.

Power supply device includes: battery stack formed by stacking a plurality of battery cells; a pair of end plates disposed at both ends of the battery stack; binding bars configured to connect the pair of end plates; lower plate that is brought into contact with heat radiation surfaces of battery cells forming the battery stack and to which heat energy of battery cell is transferred; and heat conductive sheet having plasticity and stacked on a surface of lower plate. In lower plate, contact surface that is brought into contact with heat conductive sheet is regular uneven surface, heat conductive sheet is stacked on uneven surface in a pressed state, heat conductive surface of heat conductive sheet is deformed into a concave shape along uneven surface, and heat conductive sheet and lower plate are stacked on each other in a contact state.

A battery module includes a partition wall to separate an upper space from a lower space, a first plate that defines the upper space together with the partition wall, and a second plate that is disposed above the first plate such that a gap is left between the first and second plates. A case has an opening that is formed to let the gap communicate with an outside of the case. The first plate has a through hole through which the upper space and the gap communicate. The battery module further includes a through path passing through the partition wall and each of the plates to let the lower space communicate with a space above the second plate. The upper space and the gap constitute an exhaust duct, while the lower space and a top space constitute a cooling duct.

A battery block is provided with: a plurality of cylindrical batteries of each of which the two ends are formed as positive and negative electrodes; and a lead plate which is connected to the electrodes of the cylindrical batteries. The cylindrical batteries are provided with battery cans having bottom plates provided with bottom surface electrodes and exhaust valves. The exhaust valves which are provided in the bottom plates open as a result of thin-walled lines breaking at a threshold pressure. The exhaust valves are provided inside the loop-shaped thin-walled lines provided in the bottom plates, said thin-walled lines having unconnected portions. The unconnected portions form hinge parts. Furthermore, the bottom surface electrodes provided in the bottom plates connect the lead plate to the hinge parts. The lead plate has cut-out portions provided in positions facing areas including the thin-walled lines.
