A secondary battery includes: an electrode body including an electrode main body, a collector foil protrusion section, and a collector foil connection portion; a first collector terminal including a first extension part that is welded to the collector foil connection portion; and a second collector terminal that is a member separate from the first collector terminal and includes a second extension part welded to the collector foil connection portion. The first extension part and the second extension part are located on the opposite sides of the collector foil connection portion. The secondary battery includes a welded joint at which both the first extension part and the second extension part are welded to the collector foil connection portion such that the first extension part, the second extension part, and the collector foil connection portion are united. The first collector terminal and the second collector terminal are united through the welded joint.

Secondary battery and secondary battery manufacturing method

A method of manufacturing a sealed battery includes a welding step of forming a welded portion, and the welding step includes a first step of sequentially forming a plurality of weld beads in an opening edge portion and an outer peripheral edge portion such that the plurality of weld beads are spaced apart from one another, and a second step of forming a weld bead in each gap portion located between the weld beads, with a plurality of gap portions being formed in the opening edge portion and the outer peripheral edge portion.

Evaporation fuel processing device

The present invention provides an evaporation fuel processing device including: a passage formed inside so as to allow a fluid to flow through the passage; a tank port and a purge port formed on one end side of the passage; an atmospheric air port formed on the other end side of the passage; and adsorbent layers filled with adsorbent which can adsorb evaporation fuel components, the adsorbent layers being provided in the passage, wherein a region which is constituted of three or more adsorbent layers and separating parts for separating the adjacent adsorbent layers, and in which a total volume of the adsorbent layers is set smaller than a total volume of the separating parts, is provided on an atmospheric air port side of the passage.

A fuel vapor processing system includes a canister, a tank passage communicating between the canister and the fuel tank, and a purge passage communicating between the canister and the intake air passage. Fuel vapor adsorbed by the canister can be desorbed and purged into the intake air passage via the purge passage due to a negative pressure produced in the intake air passage. A desorption promoting device can promote desorption of fuel vapor from the canister. A control unit controls the desorption device, so that the desorption promoting device promotes desorption of fuel vapor from the canister during desorption through the purge passage due to the negative pressure.

Fuel vapor processing systems

An adsorbent canister includes a casing defining a first adsorption chamber, a second adsorption chamber and a diffusion chamber therein, and an adsorbent capable of adsorbing the fuel vapor and filled in the first adsorption chamber and the second adsorption chamber. The first adsorption chamber and the second adsorption chamber communicate with each other via the diffusion chamber. The casing has on a side wall thereof a fuel introducing port configured to introduce fuel vapor into the first adsorption chamber and an air communicating port configured to introduce air into the second adsorption chamber. The diffusion chamber has at least one of a first diffusion chamber and a second diffusion chamber. The first adsorption chamber is positioned above the first adsorption chamber and extends over the entire length of the first adsorption chamber. The second diffusion chamber is positioned below the second adsorption chamber and extends over the entire length of the second adsorption chamber.

Adsorbent canisters

An evaporated fuel treating device includes a chamber, closest to an atmospheric port, divided into first, second, and third compartments by a partition member having a peripheral wall and a separating wall. The first compartment has an adsorbent layer and one end in communication with the third compartment and another end in communication with a tank port. The second compartment communicates with the first compartment through a first communication portion formed at one end of the peripheral wall. One end of the second compartment communicates with the third compartment through a second communication portion provided in the separating wall, while the other end thereof is closed. The airflow resistance of a second filter covering one end of the peripheral wall and one end of the separating wall is higher than the airflow resistance of a first filter covering one end of the adsorbent layer.

A fuel vapor control device include a fuel tank for storing fuel, a canister for adsorbing fuel vapor produced in the fuel tank, and an evaporation path communicating between the fuel tank and the canister. The tank has a resiliently deformable wall portion that can resiliently deform in response to an amount of the fuel vapor in the fuel tank, so that volume of the fuel tank can be varied. A pressure regulating valve can perform a relief function for opening the evaporation path during the expansion of volume of the fuel tank to a set volume. The pressure regulating valve closes the evaporation path if pressure inside the fuel tank is lower than the set value. On the other hand, the pressure regulating valve opens the evaporation path if the pressure inside the fuel tank is equal to or higher than the set value.

Fuel vapor control devices

A throttle valve controller achieves high output response to the smaller deviation of the actual opening from the demand opening of the throttle valve and achieves high control stability against the larger deviation. It has a preset data table containing proportional gain values and integral gain values of PID control in correspondence to deviation values in inversely proportional arrangement. During the transitional state of control system, a pair of provisional gain values are read out of the table in response to the deviation value: (step S3), these gain values are compared with those of the previous operation cycle and the smaller gain value pair are selected: (steps S4-S7), and the valve drive signal is calculated from the selected gain values:(steps S8, S11). Consequently, the controller achieves high output response to the smaller deviation due to the larger gain value and high control stability without the overshooting of valve movement against the larger deviation due to the smaller gain value.
