A battery having an electrode assembly including a positive-electrode and a negative-electrode terminal attached to a sealing plate. The electrode assembly has surfaces parallel to a direction in which the positive and the negative electrode plates are stacked, the surfaces including one surface that faces the sealing plate. The positive and the negative electrode plate respectively include positive-electrode and a negative-electrode tabs respectively electrically connected to the positive-electrode and the negative-electrode terminals through positive-electrode and negative-electrode current collectors disposed between the electrode assembly and the sealing plate. The positive-electrode and the negative electrode tabs are welded to the respective positive-electrode and negative-electrode current collectors. A porous body that is electrically insulative is disposed between the one surface and the positive-electrode current collector and between the one surface and the negative-electrode current collector.

Battery and manufacturing method thereof

Provided is an electricity storage device having a high volumetric energy density and high reliability. The electricity storage device includes: an electrode assembly including first and second electrode plates and a separator interposed therebetween; an exterior housing that houses the electrode assembly; a lid that covers an opening of the exterior housing; and electrode terminals that are electrically connected to the electrode assembly and partially protrude from the lid to the outside. The lid has a liquid injection hole for injecting an electrolytic solution into the exterior housing. A tubular member extending from the lid toward the electrode assembly is provided between the outer surface of the lid and the electrode assembly so as to surround an opening of the liquid injection hole. A covering member connected to the tubular member and interposed between the liquid injection hole and the electrode assembly is provided.

A method of manufacturing a secondary battery including a joining step of clamping a negative electrode core body stacked part and a negative electrode current collector by a horn and an anvil, and in a state where the anvil is in contact with the negative electrode current collector, ultrasonically joining the negative electrode core body stacked part and the negative electrode current collector to form a joint part; and an oxidation treatment step of oxidizing a portion, in contact with the anvil, of the negative electrode current collector in the joining step.

Secondary battery and method for manufacturing same

A positive electrode terminal is inserted into a current-collector through hole formed, in a positive electrode current collector and riveted in a spot-faced hole formed in the positive electrode current collector. A protrusion is formed on a bottom surface of the spot-faced hole so as to extend around the current-collector through hole, and a riveted portion of the positive electrode terminal covers the protrusion. The riveted portion of the positive electrode terminal is weld-connected to an edge of the spot-faced hole.

Secondary battery

A negative electrode terminal includes a flange, and a connection portion disposed on a first surface of the flange. The connection portion is inserted into a terminal attachment hole. The negative electrode terminal includes a first area made of aluminium or an aluminium alloy, and a second area made of copper or a copper alloy. In the flange, the second area is disposed adjacent to the first surface, and the first area is disposed adjacent to the second surface. A boundary between the first area and the second area is disposed between the first surface and the second surface. A thinnest portion of the first area of the flange in the thickness direction of the flange has a thickness of larger than or equal to 0.3 mm. An external electroconductive member made of aluminium or an aluminium alloy is welded to the flange to form a welded portion.

Secondary cell and battery pack

A highly reliable secondary battery is provided, in which a short circuit between a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate is prevented. The negative electrode plate includes a negative electrode core and a negative electrode active material layer formed on the negative electrode core. An electrode assembly includes a negative electrode core-stacked portion including stacked layers of the negative electrode core, and the negative electrode core-stacked portion is joined to a first surface of the negative electrode current collector to form a joined portion. The irregularity-formed portion is formed on a second surface of the negative electrode current collector that is opposite to the first surface and is located in a portion of the negative electrode current collector in which the joined portion is formed. A sheet member used as a cover member is disposed on the second surface so as to cover the irregularity-formed portion.

A negative electrode includes a first region formed of a first material and a second region formed of a second material having a different ionization tendency from the first material. The negative electrode terminal includes a flange that is disposed so as to face the outer surface of a sealing plate. A sealing plate side insulating member is disposed between the flange and the sealing plate. A boundary between the first region and the second region has an exposed part that is exposed to the outside, and the exposed part is positioned at an opposite corner on the periphery of the flange to the sealing plate.

A positive electrode collector has a part connected to a positive electrode terminal and a part connected to a positive electrode tab. In the positive electrode collector, a fuse portion is provided between the part connected to the positive electrode terminal and the part connected to the positive electrode tab. In the positive electrode collector, a region closer to the part connected to the positive electrode terminal than the fuse portion is referred to as a first region, and a region closer to the part connected to the positive electrode tab than the fuse portion is referred to as a second region. An insulating plate as an insulating member disposed between the positive electrode collector and an electrode body is connected to the second region, and the second region is prevented from moving toward the first region after the fuse portion blows.

A prismatic secondary battery includes an electrode body having a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, a prismatic outer casing accommodating the electrode body, a sealing plate sealing the opening of the prismatic outer casing, a negative electrode terminal attached to the sealing plate, and a negative electrode collector electrically connecting the negative electrode plate and the negative electrode terminal. An insulating member is disposed between the sealing plate and the negative electrode terminal. An insulating sheet is disposed between the sealing plate and the negative electrode collector. The insulating member and the insulating sheet are disposed so as to overlap with each other in a direction perpendicular to the sealing plate.

Electricity storage device

An electric storage device includes an electrode body including a plurality of first electrode plates and a plurality of second electrode plates, a first electrode output terminal, a second electrode output terminal, a first current collector, and a second current collector. The first electrode plates have first tabs that protrude from the electrode body and have conductivity and are connected to the first current collector. The first tabs are stacked to form a first tab stack, one surface of the first tab stack is in contact with the first current collector, and a first protective sheet is disposed on and in contact with the other surface on the side opposite to the one surface. On the periphery of the first protective sheet, there is a corner formed by two adjacent sides. At least the corner of the first protective sheet is joined to the first tab stack.

Electric storage device

An electrode body, which includes a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, includes a positive-electrode tab group that is composed of a plurality of positive electrode tabs. The positive-electrode tab group is disposed between a sealing plate and an electrode body, and a positive-electrode current collector includes a base portion and a tab connection portion that is folded from an end of the base portion. The base portion of the positive-electrode current collector is connected to a positive electrode terminal, and the tab connection portion of the positive-electrode current collector is connected to the positive-electrode tab group. A fuse portion is formed in the positive-electrode current collector, and a first-insulator second region of a first insulator, which is connected to an inner insulator, is disposed between the base portion and the tab connection portion.

Rectangular secondary battery and method of manufacturing the same

An electrode body, which includes a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, is contained in a battery case, which is composed of a rectangular casing and a sealing plate. A first positive-electrode tab group, which is composed of a plurality of positive electrode tabs, and a second positive-electrode tab group, which is composed of a plurality of positive electrode tabs, are disposed between the sealing plate and the electrode body. The first positive-electrode tab group and the second positive-electrode tab group are disposed so as to be displaced from each other in the longitudinal direction of the sealing plate. The first positive-electrode tab group and the second positive-electrode tab group are connected to different positions on a positive-electrode current collector.

Rectangular secondary battery

An electrode body is disposed in a rectangular casing having an opening, and the opening of the rectangular casing is sealed by a sealing plate. A positive-electrode current collector is connected to a positive electrode terminal that extends through the sealing plate. A first positive-electrode tab group and the second positive-electrode tab group, which are connected to the electrode body, is connected to a surface of the positive-electrode current collector facing the electrode body. The first positive-electrode tab group and the second positive-electrode tab group are each disposed at an end portion of the electrode body adjacent to the sealing plate, and the first positive-electrode tab group and the second positive-electrode tab group are disposed so as to be bent in different directions.
