A seat cushion for a vehicle is made by integrally molding a block of foamed polyurethane and coiled metal spring members. The spring members are disposed in a seat base portion or side portions of the seat cushion where a suitable hardness or repulsive elasticity is required to asist the restoring force of the layer of the foamed polyurethane lying on the spring members.

Seat cushion for vehicle and method of making the same

A head-rest device for a vehicle seat is disclosed in which a head-rest stay mounting a head-rest in its upper portion is supported in such a manner that it can be adjusted vertically with respect to a seat back by means of a lock mechanism provided in a head-rest holder. According to the lock mechanism of the invention, a torsion lock spring is fitted into the head-rest holder through which the head-rest stay is inserted and which is fixed to the seat back. The head-rest stay can be locked relative to the head-rest holder by means of the winding force of the torsion lock spring. An operator can be rotated to rewind the torsion lock spring so as to release such locking of the head-rest stay. Thus, it is possible to adjust the vertical position of the head-rest as required.

Head-rest device for a vehicle seat

A lumbar support device is disclosed in which a cam is rotated to longitudinally move an elastic member extending across the right and left sides of a back frame and thus vary the curvature of the elastic member in its longitudinal direction so as to be able to adjust the hardness of the lumbar support portion of a seat back forming part of a vehicle seat. The cam comprises a smaller cam portion mounted at the side of the elastic member to a shaft and a larger cam portion engaged coaxially and integrally with the smaller cam portion and provided at its side facing the smaller cam portion with a guide section having a concavo-convex curved surface with respect to the elastic member. The elastic member is pushed out in accordance with both displacements of the smaller cam portion and the guide section in the larger cam portion so that the curvature of the elastic member is varied accordingly.

Lumbar support device

A headrest device mountable to a stay extending from the top of a backrest of a vehicle seat includes (1) a stationary frame portion which includes two vertical plates having vertically-elongated openings therein and guide projections extending away from their outer sides, (2) a movable frame portion which includes two side panels and a central panel extending therebetween, each of the side panels including upper guide slots, lower guide slots and a hole therebetween, (3) a braking mechanism which includes an outer case connected to a side panel, an inner case therein and a coil spring having engagement portions at its opposite ends, the inner case defining two engagement edges and having an operating shaft and and actuating shaft, and (4) an eccentric cam mechanism for moving the movable frame portion relative to the stationary frame portion, and including two disc elements movable in respective elongated opening in the plates, a connecting tube and support arms, one support arm including a boss to which the operating shaft is connected.
