When an operation wall of an inner member is inserted into an insertion portion of an outer member and an engagement piece does not receive a cam operation due to a slanted cam portion, contact pieces of the outer member do not correspond to a positioning hole of the inner member and are located in a position so as not to be inserted into the positioning hole. When the outer member is inserted into an attachment hole of an attachment receiving member with maintaining a state where the engagement piece does not receive the cam operation due to the slanted cam portion, the contact pieces are elastically deformed inwardly and located in a position so as to be inserted into the positioning hole.

The present invention intends to provide an air bag door construction in which the air bag develops smoothly and securely, the skin can be easily produced with small man-hour, and which is excellent in the surface appearance. The skinis formed by a moldincluding an endless and annular wallprovided at a part of a molding surface to be inclined relative to the molding surface. A groove portionof the skinformed by the wallis cut at a bottom portion thereof to separate the skininto a general portionand a door portion. The general portionand the door portionare relatively shifted to make both surfaces thereof flush with each other. When the surfaces of the general portionand the door portionare flush by the relative shift, gap between the general portionand the door portioncan be narrowed, and gap appeared on the surface can also be narrowed. Also, when the skin is disposed in the mold for foam forming, the skin can position the general portionand the door portionin the desired position easily, and will not scatter a skin chip in the development of the air bag.

An air bag cover having a surface sheet including a thermoplastic elastomer decorative layer on the surface side. The breaking elongation and break strength of the thermoplastic elastomer decorative layer is adjusted utilizing a filler powder. Thereby, the breaking rapidity at a tear line groove formation position is improved.

An air bag door construction in which the air bag develops smoothly and securely, the skin can be easily produced. The skin is formed by a mold including an endless and annular wall provided on a molding surface to be inclined relative to the molding surface. A groove portion of the skin formed by the wall is cut at a bottom portion to separate the skin into a general portion and a door portion which are made flush with each other. When the surfaces of the general portion and the door portion are flush the gap between the general portion and the door portion can be narrowed, and gap on the surface is narrowed. When the skin is disposed in the mold for foam forming, the skin can position the general portion and the door portion in the desired position easily, and will not scatter a skin chip in the development of the air bag.

A console lid comprises a base having a predetermined rigidity and a skin layer member having an inner layer and an outer layer, which covers the base. A cushioning layer made of foamed polyurethane having a thickness that decreases toward the ends thereof is provided between the top of the base and the skin layer member. The skin layer member which has been trimmed is positioned in a mold and the cushioning layer is positioned so that it is in contact with the skin layer member. A plasticized resin is charged into a mold cavity from a gate to form a base. Excellent soft touch and feel is provided by the resulting composite structure since the cushioning layer, made of a soft material, is provided between the base and the skin layer member in a position where such a soft touch or cushioning is most desirable.

An operating knob-mounting structure in an air-conditioner for vehicle includes a support shaft provided on an equipment and an operating knob having a boss provided with an axial hole formed therethrough, the operating knob being rotatable and supported on the supported shaft fitted in the axial hole. The support shaft has an engagement portion formed thereon and engageable with an outer end face of the boss of the operating knob. The axial hole of the boss has an insertion recess formed in a periphery thereof and allowing the engagement portion to pass therethrough in a direction of an axis of the support shaft when the operating knob is mounted on said support shaft.

A manufacturing method for an article having a foamed layer, comprising the steps of: retaining and fixing an adherent portion having a resin-made reinforcing layer and a foamed layer, the reinforcing layer having an integrally formed design surface; and vibration welding, with a low-frequency wave, the reinforcing layer and a base portion together so as to be integrally bonded while the base portion, formed of resin which can be welded to the reinforcing layer, is in contact with the reinforcing layer. Thus, it is possible to reduce the processes which require a great deal of man-hours, such as the applying and drying of an adhesive material, sewing and mechanically affixing. Consequently, an attractive article can be produced while reducing manufacturing man-hours and providing for automated manufacture.
