A light source device includes a first light source, a second light source having an emission wavelength that is different from the first light source, and a phosphor that is disposed to be distant from the first light source and the second light source and absorbs light in a predetermined excitation wavelength band to emit fluorescence. The phosphor is disposed on an emission light optical path that is shared by the first light source and the second light source. The emission wavelength of the first light source is in the predetermined excitation wavelength band. The emission wavelength of the second light source is outside of the predetermined excitation wavelength band.

An imaging apparatus includes a light source unit that selectively outputs white light and light in a different wavelength band to an observation target, an imaging unit including an imaging device, and a spectral image formation circuit that generates a spectral image signal for a specified wavelength by an operation using an image signal based on an output from the imaging unit and predetermined matrix data. The imaging unit selectively obtains an image of the observation target for each of first, second and third light components in a visible light region and an image for each of at least fourth and fifth light components in a near-infrared region. The image exposing apparatus includes exposing device for emitting a light beam in a pulsed form with a predetermined pulse repetition period onto the printing plate precursor; branching device for branching at least a part of the light beam emitted from the exposing device; a pulse stretcher for stretching a pulse width of a branch beam branched by the branching device; synchronous signal generator for generating a synchronous signal synchronized with the pulse repetition period of the light beam from the branch beam having the pulse width stretched by the pulse stretcher; and modulating device for modulating the light beam emitted from the exposing device with an image exposure period synchronized with the synchronous signal.

The image recording method and apparatus are used to record an image formed by a group of light source elements disposed in a two-dimensional manner corresponding to recording pixels on a recording medium. In the image recording method and apparatus, an image recording position on the recording medium by the group of light source elements is moved in a direction that contains a component in at least one of two-dimensional disposing directions of the group of light source elements during the recording while modulating, in response to the movement, each recording pixel of the group of light source elements in accordance with an image to be recorded to thereby record the image on the recording medium. The image recording position is moved in accordance with a set magnification for changing the resolution par recording pixel of the group of light source elements. Further, the image recording position is moved by giving a relative speed difference between the relative movement of the group of light source elements and the recording medium and the tracking of the relative movement made by the image recording position by the group of light source elements.

The image recording method and image recording apparatus synchronize phase of a light deflector with rotation of a drum in response to the drum start point detection signal generated each time the drum rotates once, expose the two-dimensional image of one frame formed by a group of light sources disposed two-dimensionally onto the recording medium while causing the image at rest on the recording medium relatively thereto, thereafter move the optical system in the auxiliary scanning direction by an integral multiple of a pixel pitch forming one frame as well as deflect an angle of the light deflector in the main scanning direction by one frame so as to expose the next frame and on for one rotation of the drum. When the position is dislocated in the auxiliary scanning direction at the time the recording medium is to be exposed in a subsequent one rotation of the drum, the method and apparatus correct the dislocation of the position in the auxiliary scanning direction by changing an auxiliary scanning movement speed in a non-exposure time zone between the previous and subsequent rotations of the drum. Accordingly, the method and apparatus can prevent the occurrence of streaked unevenness in the surface exposure and spiral exposure.

A reduction in utilization efficiency of laser beams emitted from laser emission portions of illumination means is limited and an exposure surface is exposed by beam spots with desired spot diameters and spot forms. At an exposure head, first microlenses are arranged in a two dimensional manner so as to correspond to micromirrors at a DMD, and apertures are arranged in a two dimensional manner at back side focusing positions of the first microlenses. With this exposure head, light source images, which are formed to be very small at back side focusing positions of the first microlenses by the first microlenses, are projected onto the exposure surface, and these light source images serve as beam spots BS and expose the exposure surface.

A light modulating device comprising a plurality of light modulating elements modulating the light that is incident thereto and emitting the light, wherein each of the light modulating elements is formed from a micro electronic machinery which is two-dimensionally arranged, and the transmittance can be controlled so as to vary for each of the light modulating elements. A laser beam emitted by a semiconductor laser is applied through a beam shaper optical system to a recording film to produce the image of a near field pattern of the laser beam which is of a narrow width in a main scanning direction of the recording film and which has a wide, substantially rectangular intensity distribution in an auxiliary scanning direction. The image recorded on the recording film is free of image density irregularities in the auxiliary scanning direction.
