An external airbag includes: a lower edge bag that is deployed to extend along a lower edge of a windshield of an automobile, on a front side of the windshield; lateral edge bags in a pair that are deployed to extend along both lateral edges of the windshield, on the front side of the windshield; and an upper edge bag that is deployed to extend along an upper edge of the windshield, on the front side of the windshield.

External airbag

An external airbag includes: lateral edge bags in a pair that are deployed to extend upward along respective front pillars from lower ends of the respective front pillars, in front of the respective front pillars, the respective front pillars being disposed on both widthwise sides of a windshield of an automobile; and a posture holding member that couples upper ends of the lateral edge bags in the pair to each other.

A vehicle front body structure includes: a vehicle body structural member disposed below a front end of a hood and extends substantially along the vehicle width direction; and an energy absorbing member that protrudes toward a vehicle front side from the vehicle body structural member, extends substantially along the vehicle width direction, and deforms so as to absorb energy upon a collision. The energy absorbing member is secured to the vehicle body structural member at opposite ends of the energy absorbing member in the vehicle width direction. A clearance is defined between a central part of the energy absorbing member in the vehicle width direction and the vehicle body structural member.

Vehicle front body structure

A front vehicle structure includes: a bumper fascia; a radiator panel upper disposed in a vehicle width direction behind the bumper fascia; and an upper energy absorbing (EA) member for pedestrian protection. The upper EA member is provided in the vehicle width direction in a substantially &#x3a3; shape as a side view between the top of the bumper fascia and the radiator panel upper. A rear of the upper EA member for pedestrian protection is fixed to the radiator panel upper. An upper projection and a lower projection are respectively formed above and below the upper EA member.
