A spreader for multistage container stacking comprising a flipper beam having a pair of corner flippers upwardly and downwardly movable along the end surface of an end beam of the spreader; a couple of right and left wires paid out from a pair of drums on the end beam, guided vertically downwardly along the opposite ends of the end beam, and tied at the ends thereof to positions straddling the center of gravity of the cross sections of the flipper beam and the corner flipper to support the flipper beam; a flipper lock pin mounting/removing device provided on the vertical side surface of the corner flipper, the flipper lock pin mounting/removing device having a lock pin insertible into and removable from a side surface opening of the spreader or a lower corner fitting of a container; a rotary encoder provided in association with the drums for detecting the amount of upward or downward movement of the flipper beam; and a lower end detecting sensor provided on the flipper beam for detecting the lower end of the container with a layout in which its light is transmitted obliquely in a horizontal plane beside each of the lower corners of the container.

Spreader for multistage container stacking

A hydrogen separation membrane has a hydrogen-permeable metal foil laminated to a porous metal support. The metal support comprising a laminate of metal-reinforcing plates each having a plurality of hydrogen-flow-through holes. The metal-reinforcing plates have rectangular or similarly shaped holes having longitudinal and lateral axes. The laminate is assembled so that the longitudinal axes of the holes of adjacent metal-reinforcing plates intersect substantially at right angles with each other.

Hydrogen separation member

A double action die set for closed forging to be equipped in a reciprocating press consisting of a stationary base and a slide. Each die is equipped with one set of a metal mold and a punch. A stationary side die is fixedly secured to the stationary base, while a movable side die is fixedly secured to the slide. Each one of the stationary side die and the movable side die comprises therein a metal mold supporting outer piston of hollow shape, a punch supporting inner piston slidably engaged with a hollow space in the outer piston, and a common oil chamber for supporting the outer piston and the inner piston with a same hydraulic pressure. According to this invention such advantages as to reduce the height of the die set and to move the pressurized oil only within the same oil chambers can be obtained.

A balancer of a reciprocating machine having crank mechanisms includes an adjusting weight having one end supported by a reciprocating portion of a crank mechanism for the balancer. An adjusting weight support rotatably supports the other end of the adjusting weight with respect to a stationary portion of a body frame. The adjusting weight support is equipped with a weight support position altering mechanism for permitting alteration of the support position of the adjusting weight.

A method of roll forming hollow parts comprises introducing a workpiece into the space between a plurality of rolls rotatably arranged in spaced and parallel relationship, in parallel with the axes of the rolls, imparting rotation to the workpiece from drives through either the rolls or flanges disposed at both ends of the workpiece, at the same time forcing mandrels, slidably fitted at ends in the central openings of the flanges, through the openings into the workpiece, longitudinally from the both ends thereof, toward each other, and removing the excess metal left in the midportion of the workpiece between the mandrels by slightly moving the rolls toward each other for added compression, thereby producing spaces between the mandrels and the workpiece, and by moving the mandrels axially together with the excess metal to separate the latter from the rest of the workpiece.
