An oil control ring according the present disclosure includes a pair of side rails, and a spacer expander disposed between the pair of side rails. The spacer expander includes a plurality of sets and each set includes a lug part and a rail facing part. For each set, the lug part is in contact with an inner circumferential surface of either of the pair of the side rails, and the rail facing part is provided adjacent to the lug part and faces a side surface of either of the pair of the side rails. The lug part satisfies a following condition (1):&#x2265;1.5&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)In condition (1), W indicates a width of the lug part at a position 0.05 mm away from a highest position of the lug part in a direction towards the rail facing part, and H indicates a height difference between a highest position of a region on the rail facing part adjacent to the lug part and the highest position of the lug part.

A piston ring which is resinous includes an annular main body portion having an inner peripheral surface and an outer peripheral surface facing each other and a pair of side surfaces interconnecting the inner peripheral surface and the outer peripheral surface and a joint portionformed in the main body portion. The joint portion has a step shape when viewed from at least one of the pair of side surfaces and the outer peripheral surface. The outer peripheral surface has a tapered surface having an outer diameter increasing from a side of one side surface of the pair of side surfaces of the main body portion toward a side of the other side surface.

A data allocator which allocates data and redundant data for recovering the data. The data allocator has k storage groups, each of which includes m array files. Each array file includes multiple memory areas for storing the data and the redundant data on a block basis. A redundant group is formed which consists of k memory areas, each of which is selected from the same row of each one of k storage groups, and one of the k memory areas stores the redundant data and the remaining (k-1) memory areas store the data. The redundant data are uniformly allocated to m.sup.k sets of memory areas (D.sub.ij1, D.sub.2j2, . . . , D.sub.kjk) of the same rows of the storage groups, where j.sub.i (j.sub.i =1-m) is the number of the array file in each of the storage groups, and D.sub.kjk is the memory area belonging to k-th storage group and j.sub.k -th array file of the k-th storage group. This makes it possible to prevent an increase in the number of accesses to particular array files and the reduction in the data read rate even if one of the array files fails.

Data allocator

A timepiece whose functions are controlled by making a voice instead of operating manual switches. Operating signals for functioning the timepiece, except for turning off of the alarm sound, are applied to a voice recognizing circuit. Operation of turning off of the alarm sound is performed by detecting a volume level of voice which is made by the user. Thus, it eliminates difficulty to recognize only the voice of the user while the alarm sound is generated because the voice of the user and the alarm sound are mixed together.

A piezoelectrically driving device comprises a driving part including paired opposing pole parts substantially square shaped in section, piezoelectric elements provided at least to two adjacent faces of each of the opposing pole parts for causing them to flectionally vibrate resonantly in response to an applied high frequency voltage, and a contact member contactable with one face of each of the opposing pole parts for movement relative thereto or vice versa due to the vibration, any energy loss upon which movement is thereby remarkable restrained and a mechanical driving force can be obtained highly efficiently.

Piezoelectrically driving device

A compost toilet apparatus is disclosed, in which a box-like container for reserving raw sewage is divided into a fermentative chamber and a reservoir chamber, additives such as beet moss are dumped into the raw sewage reserved in the container so that the mixture of the additives and raw sewage is subjected to aerobic fermentation by a stirring unit and a blower, and the water content in the raw sewage is evaporated by the fermentative heat to produce an approximately granular mixture. The mixture is reserved in the reservoir chamber, while germs, parasites or the like in the container are killed by the fermentative heat. As a result, the raw sewage can be simply hygienically disposed.
