An optical diffusing layer includes a resin coated layer having a surface fine concavo-convex structure. An average of peak-to-peak distance (Sm), an average of center line surface roughness (Ra), and an average of ten-point surface roughness (Rz) on the surface with fine concavo-convex structure satisfy specified equations, and the optical diffusing layer is capable of maintaining antiglare property and screen glare simultaneously controlled, when applied to an LCD in which high definition is required.

Optical diffusing layer, optical diffusing sheet, and optical element

An optical diffusing layer comprising a resin coated layer having a surface fine concavo-convex structure, wherein an average of peak-to-peak distance (Sm), an average of center line surface roughness (Ra), and an average of ten-point surface roughness (Rz) on the surface with fine concavo-convex structure satisfy specified equations, is capable of maintaining antiglare property and screen glare simultaneously controlled, when applied to an LCD in which high definition is required.

The antiglare layer includes at least one resin coat layer (a) containing particles and a resin coat layer (b) laminated on said resin coat layer (a). The resincoat layer (b) contains particles and has a surface uneven configuration. An average particle size of the particles contained in the resin coat layer (b) is smaller than or equal to an average particle size of the particles contained in the resin coat layer (a), is capable of restraining the screen glaring phenomenon while maintaining the antiglare property and in which the whiting is observed to the least extent.

Anitglare layer, antiglare film, and optical element

An insulating varnish comprising water-soluble polyesters and which can be used as an enamel or protective coating for electric wires is disclosed. The insulating varnish is prepared by reacting an aromatic dicarboxylic acid component and a polyhydric alcohol component to produce a high molecular weight polyester resin, addition reacting a polybasic acid with the resulting polyester resin to obtain a carboxyl group-containing polyester resin and dissolving the resulting polyester resin in water using a basic compound.

Water-soluble insulating varnish

A method for stabilizing a water-soluble resin composition which comprises adding, as a stabilizing agent, a carbonate and/or an organic carboxylate of a basic nitrogenous compound to the water-soluble composition in an amount of from about 0.01 to about 10 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the resin content in the water-soluble composition, the water-soluble composition being prepared by condensation reacting an acid component consisting of 1,2,3,4-butane tetracarboxylic acid alone or a polycarboxylic acid component containing at least about 50 mol% of 1,2,3,4-butane tetracarboxylic acid and a diamine in the presence of a water-soluble solvent or, optionally, in the presence of the water-soluble solvent and water to obtain a condensation product having a residual acid value ratio of about 3 to about 50% of the acid value before condensation followed by formation of a salt of the condensation product with a basic nitrogenous compound.
