A stereoscopic image displaying apparatus includes: field switching signal generating unit for generating a field switching signal alternately indicating odd field periods and even field periods from an original picture signal; delaying unit for delaying the original picture signal and producing a delayed picture signal; stereoscopic image signal generating unit for alternately selecting one of the original picture signal and the delayed picture signal in accordance with the field switching signal to generate a stereoscopic image signal; and display unit for displaying the stereoscopic image signal by alternately supplying pictures of the original picture signal to one eye of a user and pictures of the delayed picture signal to the other eye of the user on the basis of the field switching signal.

An apparatus for controlling rotation of a spindle motor includes a lock detection unit, a memory unit, a comparison unit, and a control unit. When the lock detection unit detects the lock state of the time base servo loop, a voltage corresponding to the frequency of a read RF signal is stored in the memory unit. When the control unit detects that the rotation velocity of the spindle motor greatly deviates from a normal rotation velocity, it effects a control so as to accelerate or decelerate the spindle motor in dependency upon a compared result of the comparison unit which makes a comparison between a voltage corresponding to the frequency of the read RF signal and a voltage stored in the memory unit.

A first reproduction circuit reproduces a digital stereo audio signal from a signal which is read by means of a pickup from a disc loaded at a playback position, and a second reproduction circuit reproduces an analog audio signal from the signal read by the pickup. When the disc loaded at the playback position is identified as being a Laser vision Disc with Digital sound (LDD) disc, the stereo audio signal outputted from the first reproduction circuit is mixed with the analog audio signal outputted from the second reproduction circuit, such that a vocal portion of a reproduction can be reproduced together with an accompaniment portion of the reproduction, in a stereo mode.

A digital audio disk player detects a peak position indicating a peak value of the recorded level over N pieces of music selected to be played alone or in sequence from multiple pieces of music recorded on a digital audio disk, and plays a predetermined interval including the peak position. The player can therefore set the optimal recording level at the time of dubbing programmed pieces of music or those music pieces which are edited by the editing function.

The present invention relates to a compatible disk player, which is capable of playing compact disk CD or laser disk LD. More specifically, the disk player of the present invention reduces the delay time between loading and actually playing a disk. It includes a manual switch on the disk player, from which a person may select the type of disk to play, thereby decreasing the time needed to determine which type of disk is entered. If the CD mode is selected or the last disk to be played was a CD, the player pick-up is placed in the initial playing position of the CD before a disk is entered. After entering a disk, if it determines that an LD is loaded or the CD mode is cancelled (by the manual switch) the pick-up is moved to a ready position for the LD. By including a manual switch and circuitry which assumes the next disk type is the same as the last, the present invention reduces the time needed to determine which type of disk is loaded.

Compatible disk player for playing multi-size disks and having a mode

An auto voice changing apparatus receives music from a stereo or multi-sound, digital or analog recording and either plays the recorded music as is, or uses the recorded music as instrumental accompaniment by eliminating the vocal sounds from the reproduced music and substituting vocal sounds provided through a microphone. The control is based solely on a single auto voice switch, control information from the recording, and detection of vocal sounds from the microphone.
