An optical sensor includes: a light emitting element; a lower substrateon which the light emitting elementis provided; an upper substrateprovided so that the light emitting elementis positioned between the upper substrateand the lower substrate; and an optical blockprovided on the upper substrate. The upper substrateincludes a division-type photodiode SD. The optical blockis configured to reflect light emitted from the light emitting elementtoward a measurement target R, and light reflected by the measurement target R is incident onto the division-type photodiode SD.

In a torque convertor including a pump impeller, a turbine runner and a stator, an outer regulation surface facing inwards in a radial direction is provided at a turbine shell on an inward side in the radial direction from a turbine blade, an inner regulation surface that approaches and faces the outer regulation surface from inside in the radial direction is provided at a stator hub, and at least one of the outer regulation surface and the inner regulation surface is formed into a ring shape. Accordingly, movement of the stator along the radial direction at a time of transportation is inhibited and it is made unnecessary to form flange portions at core rings of the pump impeller and the turbine runner.

The present invention provides a lead acid storage battery keeping sufficient cycle life even under vibrating conditions. The lead acid storage battery of the present invention includes an assembly element that is obtained by alternately laying positive electrode plates, each positive electrode plate having an expanded grid, and negative electrode plates, each negative electrode plate being accommodated in a bag-like separator, one upon another. The separator is provided by folding a fine porous synthetic resin sheet and sealing left and right overlapping sides of the folded sheet to have a bag-like shape. The separator has a plurality of vertical ribs that are formed in parallel to one another on an outer surface of the separator and that are located in a central portion of the separator occupying a most part of its width. The separator further has small rib areas that extend along a length of the bag-like separator and that are arranged on left and right sides thereof. Each of the small rib areas includes a large number of small ribs that intersect a left or right side end of the positive electrode plate.

A rod 1 made of superconducting oxide is soaked in a molten normal conductor,to join the rod,and the normal conductor,, whereby a superconducting oxide current lead is prepared. As a result, a contact resistance at the interface between the superconducting oxide and the normal conductor can be reduced. Consequently, Joule's heat at a current lead having a small cross sectional area can be suppressed low, which in turn realizes the reduction of the load on a freezer and the amount of evaporated cooling solvent, with respect to a superconducting coil.
