There is provided a pulse detecting device which resists fluctuations in the quality by locating an ultrasound transmitting piezoelectric element and an ultrasound receiving piezoelectric element with high precision. In the pulse detecting device, a detection sensitivity of the pulse is improved. A transmitting piezoelectric element and a receiving piezoelectric element are fixed onto a substrate by electrodes. The transmitting piezoelectric element is excited in response to an inputted drive voltage signal to generate an ultrasound and transmits the generated ultrasound to a living body. The receiving piezoelectric element receives an echo produced by reflecting the ultrasound transmitted into the living body by a blood flow of the living body and converts it into a voltage signal. A processing arithmetic unit compares the frequency of the ultrasound generated by the transmitting piezoelectric element with that of the echo received in the receiving piezoelectric element to thereby detect a pulse.

Pulse detecting device and ultrasound diagnostic apparatus

A portable device for collecting information about a human body is adapted to be worn on the human body and is capable of periodically performing cognitive faculty tests during daily life to discern fluctuations in the memory faculty of a wearer. The device displays a problem of cognitive tests on a display unit, and a wearer inputs an answer with an input unit. The wearer's response time is clocked with a clock unit, and the answer and the response time are stored in a memory unit in time sequence by control of a control circuit. In a light emitting indicator drive circuit which supplies a current to display elements different in display areas, a constant-current is supplied from a P-channel MOS-FET to a display element and a pulse width control circuit controls a on/off ratio. deterioration information from a deterioration detecting circuit and saved segment area information is calculated, and its result decides a time to supply a current to the display elements as a result of the arithmetic operation. With the above operation, a difference in luminance between the display elements and the degradation of luminance caused by the deterioration can be corrected.

The deterioration information generating circuit generates the deterioration information on the basis of a time, a luminance, a current value or a voltgage value, etc. The self-luminous display element may be, for example, an EL (electroluminescence) element or an organic EL element.

A portable living body information collection device is arranged to continuously measure living body information in daily life and to efficiently collect relating mental information by timely questioning about health. The device can be worn on a human body. The portable living body information collection device extracts living body information in electrical signal form by a detection circuit and a signal processing circuit, and discretizes the information by a conversion circuit. A control circuit stores the discretized living body information in a storage and displays questions about feelings and mental conditions on a display unit periodically or when a large changes occurs in living body information. The wearer inputs answers by using an input device, and the answers are also recorded as mental information in the storage. Write or read of the living body information and mental information recorded in the storage, and various set values to or from an external personal computer can be performed by means of a communication circuit.

Pulse wave detector

To provide a wrist mounting type electronic apparatus facilitating attachment and detachment thereof. The wrist mounting type electronic apparatus is constituted by a main body bent substantially in an L-like shape and straps comprising a hard material. An inserting portion is provided at a front end of the strap on one side and is inserted into an inserted portion of the pivotable strap on other side. The inserted portion is penetrated with a bar member which is engaged with a small diameter hole of the inserting portion. Thereby, the wrist mounting type electronic apparatus can be mounted to the wrist. A hinge of the strap is provided with a coil spring and a state of opening the strap relative to a cabinet of the main body is maintained so far as the strap is not engaged.

A pulse detection device has a base plate having a first main surface disposable against a part of a living body during use of the pulse detection device, a second main surface disposed opposite the first main surface, and a channel formed in the second main surface. A first piezoelectric element is disposed in the channel of the base plate for transmitting an ultrasonic signal toward an artery in the living body. A second piezoelectric element is disposed in the channel of the base plate for receiving the ultrasonic signal transmitted by the first piezoelectric element and reflected by the artery.

Pulse detection device and method of manufacturing the same

An ultrasonograph capable of diagnosing a region with high sensitivity has a sensor provided with an ultrasound sending unit for sending ultrasound to the region and an ultrasound receiving unit for receiving ultrasound waves reflected from the region, a band for holding the sensor from a back side thereof relative to the diagnosed region and positioning a front side of the sensor against the diagnosed region, an information acquisition unit for acquiring information about the diagnosed region based on the reflected waves received by the ultrasound receiving unit, and an ultrasound-attenuating portion interposed between the sensor and the band for attenuating propagation of external noise from the band to the sensor and attenuating propagation of ultrasound signals through the band.

To provide a portable GPS velocity/distance meter which may seek a suitable movement velocity by removing an affect of arm swing, save power consumption of a device, and to grip a movement condition of a carrier at a remote position, it is composed of a GPS signal receiving portion for measuring the movement velocity from a Doppler frequency, a microcomputer, an input section for setting a control condition or the like and calculation of various data including positional interval data of the GPS signal receiving section, a display section for displaying the movement velocity or the like and a transmit-receive section. Then, the microcomputer is provided with a control unit for controlling the GPS signal receiving section to intermittently perform the positional operation on the basis of the positional measurement interval and a velocity averaging unit for averaging the movement velocity.

A measurement section for measuring a time and a period of time and outputting the measured data; a storing section for storing the measured data to be outputted from the measurement means and statistical data that is a statistical value or values obtained by sequentially processing and calculating the measured data; and a control section for setting a determination regarding whether or not the measured data to be outputted from the measurement section is stored in the storing section, and controlling the data storing operation so that the measured data is allowed to be stored in the storing section only when it has been determined to store the measured data, and calculating new statistical data to update the statistical data by employing the measured data and the statistical data stored in the storing section each time when the measured data is outputted from the measurement section.

Portable measurement apparatus

In a light emitting indicator drive circuit which supplies a current to display elements different in display areas, a current control circuit controls the supply current of a constant-current source which is caused by a p-channel MOS-FET which supplies a current to a display element. The current control circuit controls the off-operation of the FET. A signal processing circuit calculates the deterioration data from a deterioration detecting circuit and saved segment area data to decide a supply current value to display elements as a result of the arithmetic operation. With the above operation, a difference in luminance between the display elements and the degradation of luminance caused by the deterioration can be corrected.

Light emitting display device having luminance compensating circuitry

A current is detected through a resistor which is electrically connected in series with an FET for driving an associated one of display elements; the resultant signal is inputted to an operational amplification circuit through a capacitor to be amplified therein; and an output signal from the operational amplification circuit is converted into digital data in an A/D conversion circuit to be applied to a drive control circuit. In the drive control circuit, the amount of electric charges which have been caused to flow through the associated one of the display elements is arithmetically determined, and a period of time when the FET is kept turned ON is controlled in dependence on the amount of electric charges thus arithmetically determined.
