An enzyme-containing detergent composition having good deterbency against, especially, soiled spots in fabrics or clothes derived from a combination of sebum from human skin, a slight amount of sweat and invisible fine dust in the air is described. This detergent composition contains (I) (a) at least one olefin sulfonate having 10 to 20 carbon atoms, (b) at least one anionic surface active agent having an SO.sub.3 or SO.sub.4 group, except for said olefin sulfonate, and (c) at least one pyrophosphate and (II) at least one enzyme, the total amount of said components (a), (b) and (c) being at least 25% by weight based on the total amount of the detergent composition and the weight ratio of (a):(b):(c) being within the area enclosed by the points A, B, C and D defined in the attached triangular diagram.

Enzyme-containing detergent composition

Enzyme-containing detergent compositions containing, as essential ingredients, .alpha.-olefin sulfonates having 10 to 20 carbon atoms, polyethylene glycols having a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 20,000 and enzymes are presented. These enzyme-containing detergent compositions do not cause the decrease in foaming property when objects being washed are previously soaked in an aqueous solution of the enzyme-containing detergent composition.

A process for reducing adhesion of water-insoluble substances onto washed cloth by causing water-insoluble inorganic powder having an average particle diameter of less than 1.5 micron and selected from the group consisting of magnesium oxide, aluminum hydroxide, calcium carbonate, heavy, white carbon and titanium oxide to adhere to the surfaces of the particles of a silicate-containing granular detergent in an amount of 0.3 to 5 parts by weight of said powder per 100 parts by weight of said granular detergent.

Process for improving granular detergents

A process for improving the physical properties of granular detergents comprises making fine particles of calcium sulfite adhere uniformly onto the surface of the granular detergent. The amount of said calcium sulfite particles to be thus applied is in the range of from about 0.5 to about 5 wt.% relative to the granular detergent, and about 70 wt.% or less of this amount may be replaced with fine particles of alumino silicate. The applicable average particle diameter of calcium sulfite to be made to adhere onto granular detergent is less than about 4 .mu. and that of aluminosilicate is less than about 5 .mu..

A granular detergent composition which comprises a mixture of surface active agents consisting of alkyl sulfate (AS) expressed by the general formula ROSO.sub.3 M (wherein R represents straight chain or branched chain alkyl group having 14 - 15 carbon atoms on the average, and M represents alkali metal or alkaline earth metal), an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal, .alpha.-olefin sulfonate (AOS) having 12 - 18 carbon atoms and polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate (AES) expressed by the general formula R'O(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.n SO.sub.3 M' (wherein R' represents straight chain or branched chain alkyl group having 8 - 12 carbon atoms on the average, n is an integer in the range of 1 - 8, and M' represents an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal), at a mixing ratio within the hatched area bounded by points a, b, c, d, e and f in the appended drawing, said mixture of surface active agents being present in an amount of 20 - 40 wt.% based on the gross weight of said composition, and said composition containing substantially no phosphates, demonstrates a rich foaming under normal conditions for cleansing and displays a satisfactory easiness in rinsing.
