A locking device for a trunk in a vehicle. The locking device includes a latch configured to change a state of the trunk between locked and unlocked, and a lever configured to drive the latch to an open position. The locking device further includes a lock knob configured to be disposed outward of a vehicle body to visually determine from an outside of the vehicle whether the trunk is in the locked state or the unlocked state. The lock knob is further configured to be selectively placed in a locked position. In the locked position, the trunk is configured to be brought into the locked state by prohibiting the latch from being driven to an open position. The lock knob is further configured to be selectively placed in an unlocked position. In the unlocked position, the trunk is configured to be brought into the unlocked state by enabling the latch to be driven to the open position. The locking device further includes an actuator for enabling the lock knob to be selectively placed in one of the locked position or the unlocked position. The locking device is configured to authenticate a portable key, when the lever is operated with the trunk in the locked state. When the portable key is authenticated, the lock knob is configured to be driven into the unlocked position.

A motorcycle tail light device can have a plurality of front engagement members, provided in a front part of a tail light support stay, that enable movement of a support position of a tail light devicein a vehicle longitudinal direction. A plurality of rear engagement members can be, provided in a rear part of the tail light support stay, to enable movement of the support position of the tail light device in the vehicle longitudinal direction. A front engaged member can be provided in a front part of the tail light device, engaged with any one of the plurality of front engagement members. A direction indicator includes a direction indicator main unit, a grommet for elastically supporting the direction indicator main unit to a front cowl on a vehicle body side, a retainer for removably fixing the front cowl on the vehicle body side and the direction indicator main unit via the grommet, and a shouldered bolt for fastening the retainer and the direction indicator main unit. A fastening portion of the direction indicator main unit to which the retainer is fastened with the shouldered bolt has a groove that serves as a weakened or fragile portion that is deformed or damaged when the direction indicator engages the ground.

Forced unlocking drive device forcibly drives the holding member toward the unlocked position side in response to the operation of the electric actuator in a state in which the locking member is in the locked position. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a vehicle handle locking apparatus that releases, even when a force in a rotating direction is applied to a steering handle, engagement of a locking member with the steering handle or a linkage member so that an unlocked state is reliably achieved.

A steering lock structure for a vehicle with a saddle includes a steering lock mechanism and left and right frame members. The steering lock mechanism is disposed rearwardly with respect to a head pipe to lock and unlock a rotation of a steering system. The left and right frame members extend in a vehicle rearward direction from the head pipe. The steering lock mechanism is disposed between the left and right frame members. The steering lock mechanism is configured to cause a lock pin to carry out a stroke movement along a vehicle upward and downward direction. The steering lock mechanism is configured to cause the lock pin to be brought into and out of engagement with a top bridge of the steering system which is supported on the head pipe. Thereby, locking and unlocking of the rotation of the steering system are allowed.

Steering lock structure for vehicle with saddle

A headlight optical axis adjustment apparatus for motorcycle includes an ECU for adjusting an optical axis of a headlight in accordance with a vehicle body attitude. The apparatus includes a center kickstand switch and a side kickstand switch for detecting respective positions of a center kickstand and a side kickstand of the motorcycle. When either of the kickstands is in a deployed position thereof, the ECU is operated to adjust the optical axis of a headlight to a previously set initial direction, regardless of detection outputs from a front vehicle height sensor and a rear vehicle height sensor. The front vehicle height sensor and the rear vehicle height sensor respectively detect the vehicle heights at the front part of the vehicle body and the rear part of the vehicle body. The vehicle heights are represented by compression and decompression amounts of suspensions.

Method of and apparatus for adjusting a motorcycle headlight, and motorcycle incorporating same

An engine starting apparatus with an antitheft function enables rapid and secure starting of a kick-started engine. The engine starting apparatus includes an immobilizer CPU and an ignition CPU, which cooperate to enable authorized engine startup and to prevent unauthorized access. The immobilizer CPU outputs a permission signal if an authentication code from the outside corresponds to a reference code in a vehicle, but outputs an inhibition signal if the authentication code and the reference code fail to correspond. When a starting pedal is kicked, the ignition CPU begins to energize the engine's ignition system, in response to a predetermined engine starting instruction, before the input reference code is verified. If proper authentication is verified by the permission signal, the ignition CPU continues to allow normal engine starting procedure. If the inhibition signal is received from the immobilizer CPU, the ignition CPU interrupts the normal procedure and inhibits engine starting.
