A liquid ejection head includes a first pressure chamber row having a plurality of first pressure chambers respectively communicating with a plurality of ejection orifices that eject liquid and arranged along a predetermined direction, a second pressure chamber row having a plurality of second pressure chambers respectively communicating with a plurality of ejection orifices that eject liquid and arranged along the predetermined direction, a first flow path for supplying the liquid to the plurality of first pressure chambers, and a second flow path for recovering the liquid from the plurality of second pressure chambers. Part of the first pressure chamber row is disposed to overlap the first flow path, and part of the second pressure chamber row is disposed to overlap the second flow path, as viewed from an ejection direction of the liquid.

A printing apparatus which includes a circulation route configured to supply ink stored in a storage unit to a print head via a supply passage and send back the ink collected from the print head to the storage unit via a collection passage and which performs printing on a print medium by ejecting the ink from the print head includes: a first detection unit which detects an ink concentration in the collection passage; an injection unit which injects a correcting liquid capable of correcting the ink concentration into a circulated ink flow downstream of a position where the first detection unit detects the concentration in the collection passage; and a control unit which obtains an injection amount of the correcting liquid based on the concentration detected by the first detection unit and controls the injection unit such that the correcting liquid is injected in the injection amount.

A driving device for a liquid ejection head is configured to drive a plurality of piezoelectric elements of a liquid ejection head, the liquid ejection head including a plurality of ejection orifices configured to eject liquid and the plurality of piezoelectric elements configured to generate energy for ejecting liquid from the plurality of ejection orifices. The driving device includes a control circuit unit including storage sections and transfer circuits, and a drive circuit unit including a plurality of individual drive circuit sections. The control circuit unit is an integrated circuit which is different from the drive circuit unit.

Driving device for a liquid ejection head

A liquid ejection head includes a plurality of piezoelectric transducers that are configured to generate energy for respectively ejecting liquid from a plurality of ejection ports and arranged in line so as to constitute a plurality of columns and a common electrode connected to the plurality of piezoelectric transducers. The common electrode is provided with a plurality of first connection areas to which the plurality of piezoelectric transducers are connected commonly in units of columns and a second connection area that connects the plurality of first connection areas to one another. This liquid ejection head further includes a reinforcing wiring laminated on the second connection area and a wiring substrate including a drive wiring that is connected to the reinforcing wiring at at least one connection point and electrically connected to the common electrode via the connection point.

Liquid ejection head

In a liquid discharge head including a surface plate having a plurality of discharge ports and a liquid discharge body having a discharge portion, the discharge portion and an opening are alternately arranged on the liquid discharge body and the liquid discharge body includes a bonding unit formed by combining two piezoelectric material plates. Each piezoelectric material plate is provided with a plurality of grooves on a first surface and has a first electrode on one side wall surface and the bottom of the groove of the piezoelectric material plate, a second electrode on the other side wall surface, and a third electrode on a second surface. Each piezoelectric material plate is polarized in a direction connecting the first electrode and the second electrode, and also in a direction connecting the first electrode and the third electrode, and the two piezoelectric material plates are bonded so that the first surfaces face each other to form the bonding unit.

Liquid discharge head

Provided is a liquid discharge head, including a piezoelectric block formed by stacking multiple piezoelectric substrates, each of the multiple piezoelectric substrates including a first main surface and a second main surface and having a first groove and a second groove alternately formed in the first main surface, in which the each of the multiple piezoelectric substrates includes a first in-groove electrode, a first rear surface electrode, a second in-groove electrode, and a second rear surface electrode.

A continuous liquid ejection head collects droplets which are not used for printing (unused droplets) without affecting the flight of droplets which are used for printing (used droplets). An ejection nozzle and a collection nozzle collect an unused droplet by causing a liquid surface to project out from the aperture of the collection nozzle so as to be positioned in the trajectory along which droplets ejected from the ejection nozzle fly, causing the unused droplet to collide and unite with the liquid surface projected from the collection nozzle, and causing the liquid surface to retreat.

In a highly integrated printing head forming an image with continuously ejected ink droplets, there are disadvantages of a high cost for a control circuit and wirings due to a large number of the wirings for charging electrodes, a difficulty for ensuring electrical insulation between the wirings having a narrow pitch and a high density, and an induced voltage in the wirings due to the mutual induction therebetween. Therefore, the present invention includes dividing a plurality of nozzles into a plurality of groups, shifting production timings between the groups, and applying a charging voltage via common wirings to which the charging electrodes of different groups corresponding to each other are commonly connected.

Printing apparatus and driving method of a liquid ejecting head

An ink reservoir () has a plurality of thin bodies () provided in a housing () at gaps from each other. Ink in the housing () is held by a capillary force generated by the thin bodies (). An ink guide portion () which is set at a gap between one end of the liquid ink () and an inner wall of the housing () is provided so that a capillary force in the vicinity of an ink supply port () is larger than that of the liquid reservoir ().

Liquid reservoir apparatus

A liquid tank according to the present invention comprises negative-pressure introducing sections for introducing negative pressure into the liquid tank, a liquid intake section for taking a liquid in the liquid tank on the basis of the negative pressure introduced by the negative-pressure introducing sections, an atmosphere communication port that is closed when the liquid is introduced through the liquid intake section, and a gas-liquid separating element disposed in the negative-pressure introducing sections so as to pass through only a gas. The gas-liquid separating element has a joined portion formed at least on the outer periphery of the gas-liquid separating element and joined to he negative-pressure introducing sections, and a ventilation area that contributes to ventilation.

The present invention provides a liquid storing device which can be manufactured inexpensively, which allows various liquids such as ink to be used in a chemically stable manner, and which can stably supply a liquid by reducing channel resistance irrespective of changes in position during operation to generate a predetermined negative pressure. To achieve this object, in one preferred mode, a plurality of thin plates are disposed at predetermined intervals to form a storing portion in which predetermined capillary force is generated. Furthermore, a predetermined gap is formed between the storing portion and a liquid outlet to form a guiding portion in which capillary force is generated which is stronger than the capillary force of the storing portion.

Ink storing device

For the sake of achieving both the size and weight reductions of a printing apparatus and increasing the reliability thereof, an ink tank is provided with a gas-permeable member that permits air to pass without permitting ink.
