A saddle-ride vehicle includes a vehicle-body frame, an engine, a seat, a storage box, a box lid, a box-side locking mechanism, a filler lid, a filler-side locking mechanism, an unlocking mechanism, a box-side cable, and a filler-side cable. The unlocking mechanism includes a key cylinder which is key-operated. The unlocking mechanism is disposed between a head pipe and the storage box. The box-side cable is connected to the key cylinder. The box-side cable is to be caused to unlock a lock of the box-side locking mechanism by turning a key in one of a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction. The filler-side cable is connected to the key cylinder. The filler-side cable is to be caused to unlock a lock of the filler-side locking mechanism by turning the key in another of the clockwise direction and the counterclockwise direction.

Saddle-ride vehicle

An intake air passage, formed through a motorcycle body frame, reduces changes in pressure within an air routing duct member due to opening and closing of a throttle, and also reduces pipe resonance of the air routing duct member. The air routing duct member extends longitudinally from the intake air passage and directs fresh air to another air passage. The air routing duct member includes openings that communicate with hollow sections provided in a portion of an adjacent support structure, such as an instrumentation support member. When the throttle is opened rapidly, air from the hollow sections is temporarily supplied to the air routing duct member, reducing changes in internal air pressure in the air routing duct member due to throttle operation. Resonance chambers are formed above the air routing duct member, and communicate through communication pipes with a space within the air routing duct member to reduce duct pipe resonance.

Air routing structure for a motorcycle, and motorcycle including same

To provide an exhaust device for a motorcycle for suppressing an exhaust resistance due to the thickness of an exhaust control valve. An exhaust device for a motorcycle is provided for an engine having a plurality of cylinders. A plurality of upstream exhaust pipes are respectively connected to exhaust ports for the cylinders with an exhaust control valve provided in the downstream exhaust pipe. A separator is provided in the exhaust manifold portion for separating the flows of exhaust gas. The exhaust control valve is located on the downstream side of the separator so that a main surface of the exhaust control valve in its fully open condition becomes substantially parallel to a main surface of the separator.

Exhaust device for motorcycle

To arrange a steering damper behind a head pipe in a compact manner while suppressing the influence of the steering damper on an intake duct which penetrates the vicinity of head pipes of a vehicle body frame. A steering damper is arranged between left and right main frames of a vehicle body frame and, at the same time, is arranged above or below an intake duct which penetrates the vicinity of a head pipe of the vehicle body frame.

Steering damper mounting structure

To easily secure a welding length when an opening is formed at a portion in the vicinity of a joint portion between a head pipe portion and a main frame portion. A front opening penetrating through a vehicle body frame across a head pipe portion and a main frame portion. A rib extending across the front opening along a front parting plane of the vehicle body frame. The rib being divided along the front parting plane and the edge portions of the divided rib portions opposing the outer periphery of the main frame portion are integrally joined.

Vehicle body frame structure

An air cleaner device for exchanging an element without permitting dust and dirt collected between the element and an air guide member in a clean side to fall and for smoothly permitting intake air to be supplied to the engine. An air cleaner device includes a cylindrical element with an air guide member including a guide sleeve formed into a diameter smaller than an inner diameter between element inner walls of the element which are served for inserting the air guide member from one end of the element and flange portions which are formed on the guide sleeve to be brought into contact with one end surface of the element. A cleaner case houses the element and the air guide member and an air intake duct portion which is mounted on a lower portion of the cleaner case and is arranged below the air guide member.

Air cleaner device

An intake duct structure having an intake path extending forwardly from a cleaner box, penetrating through an area near a head pipe of a vehicle body frame, and opening at a front end portion of a front cowl. During low speed operation of the engine, an intake valve closes a main intake path MR from a front end intake port and opens a sub-intake path SR from a lower portion intake port. On the other hand, during high speed operation of the engine, the intake valve opens the main intake path MR and closes the sub-intake path SR. The lower portion intake port opens forward of a head pipe inside a front cowl and obliquely downwardly toward the rear. With this arrangement, entry of rainwater into the intake path can be minimized during low speed operation of the engine.

Intake duct structure

An air cleaner structure that is capable of achieving smooth air-intake capability while separating water contained in air to supply clean air to the engine side. A lower half member of an air-intake duct is, when viewed from above, provided with a central partition and partitions located symmetrically in the vicinity of the central partition, partitions located near both ends, and narrowing passages and widening passages surrounded by the partitions. Air enters from the front of the vehicle body and flows like eddy currents from outlet ports of the widening passages to the outlet ports of the narrowing passages like eddy currents. Thus, coarse particulate and dust contained in the air stay on the outlet port side of the air-intake duct.

Air cleaner structure

For fixing a catalytic body, which has a cylindrical case and is housed in an exhaust pipe, to the exhaust pipe that serves as part of an exhaust system connected to an engine. The catalytic body can be housed in and fixed to the exhaust pipe even if the catalytic body and the exhaust pipe are made of different materials, thus increasing the freedom in choosing materials for the case of the catalytic body and the exhaust pipe. A bracket, which is made of the same material as an exhaust pipe, is welded to an inner circumferential surface of the exhaust pipe. The bracket is crimped on the case of the catalytic body.

Structure for fixing catalytic body to exhaust pipe

A motorcycle includes an axle of a rear wheel supported for rotation at a rear end of a swing arm. The swing arm is supported at a front end portion thereof for rocking motion on a vehicle body frame. A rear end exhaust portion of an exhaust system connected to a cylinder head provided on an engine body carried on the vehicle body frame forwardly of the rear wheel is disposed at a position higher than the axle. An exhaust control valve for adjusting the flow area in an exhaust pipe, which forms part of the exhaust system, is disposed in the exhaust pipe. The exhaust control valve is disposed forwardly and upwardly of the axle of the rear wheel to dispose the exhaust control valve in a better environment.

Motorcycle

To facilitate attachment/detachment work of an oil filter in a vehicle engine without increasing an outer dimension thereof, and to provide a uniform a supply of engine oil into an engine body. An oil filter is attached onto a front portion of the engine body so as to be detachable in a vehicle body width direction from a side face of the engine body. An exhaust pipe on a side on which an oil filter is attached is displaced to a center side in the vehicle body width direction so as not to overlap the oil filter when viewed from a front of the engine body.

Vehicle engine

In an intake duct, a first intake passage arranged in a width direction of the front wheel and a second intake passage arranged on a side of the first intake passage are formed such that a flow area of the first intake passage is set larger than a flow area of the second intake passage. An intake control valve closes the first intake passage when the engine rotates at low speed and opens the first intake passage when the engine rotates at high speed.

Intake apparatus for engine

In a small-type vehicle including a cylinder head possessed by an engine main body mounted on a vehicle body frame, an intake passage portion extending rectilinearly so as to guide cleaned air from an air cleaner disposed on the upper side of the cylinder head, the intake passage portion being connected to an upper portion side wall of the cylinder head, an injector for injecting fuel into the intake passage portion from the upper side, the injector being attached to the air cleaner, and a fuel tank so disposed as to cover a rear portion and an upper portion of the air cleaner, to make it possible to secure a sufficient capacity of the fuel tank. Fuel injection system for engine in small-type vehicle

In a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, a plug hole for mounting an ignition plug is formed along a cylinder axis and an intake port and an exhaust port are respectively formed at both sides of the plug hole while sandwiching the cylinder axis therebetween. The cylinder head further includes an intake valve which opens or closes the intake port and an exhaust valve which opens or closes the exhaust port. In such a constitution, a cross-sectional shape of a flow passage of an outlet of the exhaust port is an oval shape extending in the horizontal direction and a water drain hole of the plug hole is formed below the exhaust port.
