An in-die cover forming method for integrally forming a cover member with a surface of a base member in a die is provided. The die including an upper die half and a lower die half. The upper die halves are movable relative to each other. The base member is set on the lower die half such that its back is opposed to the lower die half. Using position determining mechanisms located between the lower die half and the back of the base member, the position of the surface of the base member in relation to the lower die half in the die moving direction is determined. The cover member is placed between the base member and the upper die half. The cover member is integrated with the surface of the base member by closing the upper die half with respect to the lower die half while pressing the cover member against the base member through vacuuming.

In-die cover forming method and method for manufacturing product integrated with cover

An exhaust ventilator has a frame on which an opening is formed. The frame is composed of a main frame and a flange. Partitions divide the opening of the frame into a plurality of air vents in a matrix manner. Butterfly valves of plate shape have their upper end fixed to the partitions. Lower portions of the butterfly valves are able to open and close the air vents. The frame, partitions and butterfly valves are made of the same olefinic material. Thus, they can be recycled without disassembling.

Exhaust ventilator

A method for molding an end of a long resin molded article that is obtained by extrusion molding and has a design surface and an attachment surface extended in a longitudinal direction of the long resin molded article, and the attachment surface is attached to other parts. An end portion of the long resin molded article is heated so as to soften the end portion of the long resin molded article. The design surface of the heated end portion is pressed so as to stretch resin on a side of the design surface thereby forming an inclined surface on the end portion, whereby the end portion is inclined from the design surface at the end portion to said attachment surface at the end portion along said inclined surface. The attachment surface of the heated end portion is pressed so as to form a cavity on the attachment surface and stretch resin on a side of the attachment surface. In the processing, the resin on the design surface side is stretched to a substantially equal degree to the resin on the attachment surface side.

Method for molding an end of a long resin molded article

A method of manufacturing a luster resin molding such as an automobile side molding or the like is disclosed. The luster resin molding has a molding body formed of luster synthetic resin and is elongated in a specific direction, and a positioning boss is formed integrally with the back surface of the molding body and erected substantially perpendicularly to the back surface of the molding body. A slide core for molding the positioning boss is moved to mold the positioning boss integrally with the molding body after synthetic resin injected in the longitudinal direction of the molding body has passed through a boss position where the positioning boss will be formed.

Luster resin moldings and method of manufacturing the same

A sandwich molded article comprising a thick skin or outer layer, a thin skin or outer layer, and a core layer surrounded by these skins or outer layers. A process for producing said sandwich molded article by the use of a mold(s) which comprises adjusting the temperature of an inner surface of the mold corresponding to a skin portion of the molding desired to be made thick, to a temperature lower than that of an inner surface of the mold corresponding to a skin portion of the molding desired to be made thin; injecting a skin material in a softened state into the mold; and then injecting a core layer material in a softened state into the skin material. According to the present invention, there can be obtained a sandwich molded article having a core layer from which the distances to the obverse and the reverse of the molded article are different. This molded article can be given a satisfactory decorative surface and has deformation-preventing ability.

Process for producing a sandwich molded article

An injection molded colored article produced from colored material prepared by blending a coloring pigment with a synthetic resin. The article has the shape of a long main body section and a thin plate section integrally molded along a side edge of the main body section. A back surface of the main body has a curve formed from an inner end thereof. The thin plate section is formed into a tapered shape, having its thickness decreased toward its outer edge. An inclined angle .theta. defined between a upper surface and a back surface of said thin plate section, a ratio of distance A between an inner edge of said upper surface and an outer edge of said thin plate section to a distance B between said inner end of said back surface of said thin plate section and said outer edge, A/B, and a thickness C of said main body section are selected to fall within the following ranges;

The present invention relates to a high gloss molded resin exhibiting high gloss, metallic luster, excellent weather-proofing and scratch resistance properties comparable to those of a coated product, thus eliminating a coating process; the high gloss molded resin comprising a core layer and a skin layer, the core layer formed of a polypropylene composite material, the skin layer formed of a mixture of a polypropylene resin and a coloring agent; the polypropylene resin used for the skin layer containing an amount of ethylene 6 wt. % or less, as well as exhibiting Rockwell hardness equal to or greater than 85.

High gloss molded resin

A long molded article having a skin layer composed of a thermoplastic elastomer, and a core layer coated with said skin layer which is composed of 30 to 70% by weight of a matrix phase composed of a polypropylene resin and 70 to 30% by weight of one dispersed phase selected from the group consisting of ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymers and styrene-based thermoplastic elastomers. According to the present invention, there can be obtained a long molded article such as a side molding for automobile, which is excellent in attractiveness after mounting, dimensional stability, etc.

Molded sandwich article

A orifice passage for introducing excessive resin into a disposal tab forming cavity is provided at one end of a main cavity in a mold for sandwich molding. The section of the orifice passage is thinner in the central portion than in the opposite sides thereof. A thermoplastic elastomer for forming an outer layer of the molding is injected into the main cavity and then talc-containing polypropylene for forming the core of the molding is injected. The flow rate of the resins flowing through the orifice passage at this time becomes substantially uniform over the entirety of the section. Therefore, the talc-containing polypropylene sufficiently extends toward the opposite sides of the main cavity.

Method of producing molding

Molding a hollow shaped body which has a skin made of a synthetic resin and a hollow portion therein by a mold block provided with a mold cavity in the shape of the hollow shaped body, a tub into which an excess amount of the synthetic resin can flow and a small flow path communicating between the mold cavity and the tub. The process includes forming the skin of the hollow shaped body by injecting a molten synthetic resin into the mold cavity to fill up the cavity. Thereafter, a gas is introduced into the injected synthetic resin to thereby form the hollow portion. The gas injection forces a part of the synthetic resin out of the mold cavity and into the tub through the small flow path.

Method for molding hollow shaped bodies

A mold for making a double layer molded product, such as a molded product of sandwich construction or a hollow molded product having a dam within the mold cavity adjacent its gate. The dam projects in a direction transverse to that in which the inner-forming material is injected, and a gap is defined between the dam and the walls of the cavity. With this configuration, the core thickness of the molded product of sandwich construction, or the skin thickness of the hollow molded product, are made uniform.
