A state determination device to determine that a driver driving a vehicle is in a driving difficult state detects an abnormality in a state of the driver, and detects at least one of an abnormality in a driving operation input by the driver or an abnormality in a traveling state of the vehicle. In response to detecting the abnormality in the state of the driver alone, the state determination device does not determine that the driver is in the driving difficult state but determines that the driver is in the driving difficult state in response to detecting the abnormality in the state of the driver and additionally detecting the at least one of the abnormality in the driving operation input by the driver or the abnormality in the traveling state of the vehicle.

An abnormality determination apparatus is mounted on a vehicle. A person is identified in a captured image acquired from a camera that captures a range including a driver seat of the vehicle. It is determined whether a person other than the driver of the vehicle is present in an operable range set as a range in which a steering wheel of the vehicle is enabled to be operated, based on a result from identifying a person. An abnormality process assuming that the driver of the vehicle is in an abnormal state is executed in response to determining that the person other than the driver is present in the operable range.

Abnormality determination apparatus

An abnormality detection device is provided to detect an abnormal posture of a driver of a vehicle based on information of an image captured by an imaging unit for which an imaging region is defined to image a head of the driver. The abnormality detection device is configured to define at least one premonition region in a range in which the head is supposed to be positioned in process of transitioning from a normal posture to the abnormal posture in the imaging region. When the head stays in a premonition region, the abnormality detection device determines that the driver is in a state of the abnormal posture.

A driver abnormality detection device detects an abnormality in a driver of a vehicle. A first notification is performed in response to detecting the abnormality. It is determined whether a first input by the driver has been detected in a first input period set after a start of the first notification. A second notification is performed in response to determining that the first input has been detected in the first input period. It is determined whether a second input by the driver has been detected in a second input period set after a start of the second notification. A first abnormality condition process is executed in response to determining that the first input has not been detected in the first input period. A second abnormality condition process is executed in response to determining that the second input has not been detected in the second input period.

Driver abnormality detection device

A driving teaching device is provided. The driving teaching device for a vehicle includes a visual attraction portion and a confirmation determination portion. The visual attraction portion guides, as an attractive display, a visual line of a driver to a confirmation object to which a safety confirmation is to be executed by the driver. The confirmation determination portion determines whether the driver executes the safety confirmation to the confirmation object. The driving teaching device further includes a reaction determination portion and a feedback portion. The reaction determination portion determines a reaction degree of the driver to the attractive display. The feedback portion provides information based on the reaction degree determined by the reaction determination portion when the confirmation determination portion determines that the driver executes the safety confirmation to the confirmation object.

Driving teaching device

A vehicle alarming system is provided to include (i) an inter-vehicle distance detector and (ii) an alarm. The inter-vehicle distance detector is configured to detect an inter-vehicle distance between a host vehicle and a vehicle ahead of the host vehicle. The alarm is configured to issue an alarm signal to a manipulation applied to an in-vehicle device in response to that a driving load including the inter-vehicle distance detected by the inter-vehicle distance detector satisfies an alarming condition of enabling the alarm. An execution state of a cruise control function is excluded from the alarming condition of enabling the alarm. The alarm is enabled in response to determining an override state in which acceleration or deceleration is manipulated forcedly by a driver of the host vehicle under the execution of the cruise control function.

Vehicle alarming system

A vehicle driver state determination apparatus in a vehicle is provided as follows. A specific notification is issued from a driving assistance apparatus in response to an occurrence of a specific event; the specific notification urges the driver to perform a predetermined driving operation. A reaction time is measured from when the specific notification is issued to when the predetermined driving operation is performed by the driver, to evaluate a state relating to a driving ability of the driver.

Vehicle driver state determination apparatus

A driving burden estimation device, which is equipped to a subject vehicle and estimates a driving burden on a driver of the subject vehicle, includes a distance detection portion detecting an inter-vehicle distance between a non-subject vehicle travelling ahead of the subject vehicle and the subject vehicle, a speed detection portion detecting a traveling speed of the subject vehicle, a calculation portion calculating an inter-vehicle time taken until the subject vehicle reaches a present location of the non-subject vehicle based on the inter-vehicle distance and the traveling speed, and a burden estimation portion estimating the driving burden according to the inter-vehicle time and the traveling speed in such a manner that the driving burden decreases as the traveling speed becomes higher under a same inter-vehicle time.

A vehicle display apparatus includes a display panel to be placed at a position where a driver visually recognizes the display panel and to display information related to vehicle traveling status. The display panel includes a first display area for displaying a first information and a second display area for displaying second information. The vehicle display apparatus further includes a first display control portion for obtaining the first information, and a second display control portion for obtaining the second information and displaying the second information. A vehicle display apparatus includes the display panel which has a third display area for displaying third information and a fourth display area for displaying fourth information. An awareness level improvement device has an input portion, a determination portion, and a controller. Data related to the awareness level of the driver is input into the input portion. The determination portion determines whether the driver is in a absentminded state based on the data input into the input portion. The controller controls an execution portion to execute an application improving the awareness level of the driver when the determination portion determines that the driver is driving in the absentminded state. The application includes a body motion application that prompts the driver to perform a body motion.

Awareness level improvement device

A control apparatus controls an automatic stop of an engine mounted on a vehicle so as to automatically stop the engine if a predetermined stop condition is satisfied, the stop condition including a condition that a running speed of the vehicle is a prescribed speed or less. The control apparatus includes a prediction unit and a prohibition unit. The prediction unit predicts whether or not the next automatic stop time of the engine is less than a prescribed time capable of obtaining a fuel saving benefit based on a history of a vehicle stop time or an automatic stop time of the engine. The prohibition unit prohibits the next automatic stop of the engine if the prediction unit predicts that the next automatic stop time of the engine is less than the prescribed time.
