The present invention is to provide a configuration facilitating removal of a sheet stopped on a conveying belt. In a sheet conveying apparatus that conveys a sheet using a conveying belt and balls, a sheet may be jammed and stopped on the conveying belt. In this case, it is difficult for a user to take out the sheet through a take-out port if the sheet is nipped by conveying roller pairs disposed upstream and downstream relative to the conveying belt in a sheet conveying direction. Thus, conveying roller pairs and the conveying belt are operated such that the sheet, which is stopped on the conveying belt and hence should be taken out through the take-out port, is brought into a state of being nipped only by the conveying belt and balls.

Sheet conveying apparatus

The present invention is to provide a media processing apparatus for enabling a plurality of discharge sections disposed one side of the apparatus to be disposed parallel inside saved space, the media processing apparatus is provided with a plurality of discharge sections (correct card discharge section and error card discharge section) disposed on one side of an apparatus housing, and a discharge member (card reverse section) that discharges a card C to each discharge section. In such a card processing apparatus, a width dimension (length dimension in the discharge direction of the card) of a discharge stacker of the first card discharge section is wider than a width dimension of the card C, and a width dimension of a frame body of the error card discharge section is narrower than the width dimension of the card C.

To correct a color shift caused by printing data, a printing apparatus includes an image formation section that prints on a transfer film using color inks according to printing data, and a control section which stores or generates pattern data of a pattern having respective colors of the inks, and combines the printing data and the pattern data so that a printing image of the pattern data overlaps a part of a printing image of the printing data. The control section corrects a printing start position on the transfer film with the image formation section of at least one color ink among printing images to print respectively with the color inks, according to input first information concerning a shift in respective colors of the inks constituting the pattern occurring in forming an image on the transfer film in the image formation section according to combined printing data subjected to combining.

The present invention provides a printing device which provides high printing quality. Printing device and printing method

A thermal printer detects an environmental temperature, and directly or indirectly detects a change in tension of an ink ribbon R. A correction value is read or calculated according to at least one of the detected environmental temperature and the detected change in the tension of the ink ribbon R. Thermal energy of each heating element in the thermal head is controlled based on the correction value so as to adjustably increase or reduce number of print lines on a print medium in a sub-scanning direction.

Method of controlling electric conduction through thermal head

A printing apparatus has a casing, a card supply opening at one side of the casing, a printing unit that performs a predetermined recording to a card supplied from the card supply opening, nip rollers that nip the card when being recorded at the printing unit, a magnetic encoder unit disposed adjacent to the printing unit that performs a predetermined recording to the card nipped by the rollers, and a card discharge outlet that discharges the card recorded at the printing and/or magnetic encoder units. The card supply opening, the printing unit and the magnetic encoder unit are disposed sequentially and substantially horizontally along the card conveyance path, and the card discharge outlet is provided in a side of the casing so that the card supply opening and card discharge output are positioned substantially vertically.

Card recording apparatus

Transports cards to an image forming portion, and turns cards over after forming images on one side of cards at the image forming portion. Transports an intermediate transfer sheet to an image forming portion, forms images on the intermediate transfer sheet at the image forming portion and transports cards to the transfer portion along with transporting the intermediate transfer sheet to the transfer portion, and transfers images formed on the intermediate transfer sheet at the image forming portion to the other side of cards at the transfer portion. Switching between a direct transfer method and an indirect transfer method makes either transfer method applicable thereby improving printer user convenience, enables the forming of images to a recording medium using the optimum image forming method and reduces running costs. After direct transfer, indirect transfer is consecutively executed without discharging the card from the image forming apparatus thereby protecting the security of personal information and ensuring the security of personal information even when discharging cards printed on one side is unavoidable from the image forming apparatus when printing to both sides is incomplete.

Image forming method

A printing apparatus includes an image forming portion for selectively forming images to a card and to an intermediate transfer sheet, and a transfer portion for transferring images formed onto an intermediate transfer medium to a card. The image forming portion and transfer portion are opposingly arranged to a card transport path and are arranged offset along the card transport path. This allows the shared use of members for direct transfer and indirect transfer to enable smooth printing. The apparatus switches between the direct transfer method and the indirect transfer method to print to the card and enables lower costs and improved printing speed.

A thermal transfer printing device for printing photorealistic color images with dye-sublimation inks of different colors and two-gradation images such as character and bar code patterns with a monochrome thermal wax-transfer ink respectively in separated printing sections. The bar code pattern is printed in the widthwise direction of the code bars with heating energy smaller than that for printing the bar code pattern in the lengthwise direction of the bars, thus increasing the reproductivity in producing the bar code pattern. Deviations in specific resistance among heating elements of a thermal print head can be compensated by multiplying image data energy to be supplied to the heating elements by ratios of the specific resistance of the respective heating elements to the maximum resistance in the heating elements, thus producing high-quality images on the recording medium.
