A main shaft includes a plurality of elastic engagement pieces arrayed along an outer perimeter of an attachment hole. During and after assembly, the elastic engagement pieces elastically abut at least an outer surface of a tapered shank in a tool holder and deform slightly in a radial direction. The elastic engagement pieces provide uniform engagement force between the main shaft and the tool holder over a broad surface area. An elastic flange provides additional elastic engagement and easy separation from the main shaft. Together, the elastic engagement pieces and elastic flange reliably engage and securely attach the main shaft to the tool holder while aiding disengagement.

Tool holder attachment structure

A robot hand tool linkage device includes a locking mechanism and an actuation shaft driven between a lock position and a release position. A piston moves an actuation shaft upward and downward to cam outward a plurality push rods urging outward a plurality arc-shaped locking members. The locking members are captured under an arcuate surface of a tool plate which is thereby attached. A resilient member engages an outer groove in each of the locking members to urge them inward. When the outward force on the locking members is released, the resilient member moves the locking members inward to reduce their combined diameter sufficiently to disengage from the arcuate surface, and thereby to release the tool plate.

Tool connecting device for robot hand

A tool holder includes a plurality of elastic engagement pieces arrayed along an outer perimeter of a shank. During and after assembly, the elastic engagement pieces elastically abut at least an inner surface of a tapered hole in a main shaft joined to the tool holder and deform slightly in a radial direction. The elastic engagement pieces provide uniform engagement force with the main shaft over a broad surface area. An elastic flange provides additional elastic engagement and easy separation from the main shaft. Together, the elastic engagement pieces and elastic flange reliably engage and securely attach the main shaft to the tool holder while aiding disengagement.

A method for stretching and folding an extension jib in a wheeled type crane including a telescopic boom, and a suspension-rod-supported compression column type extension jib to be supported in a flat posture at the fore end of the boom in stretched state through right and left jib foot portions rotatably engaged with horizontal boom point pins extending transversely of the boom at the fore end thereof, the method including the steps of (a) providing on opposite sides of the extension jib right and left jib foot portions disengageably engageable with the boom point pins, one of the jib foot portions being rotatable relative to the boom about an axis extending in the axial direction of the jib; (b) stretching the jib from a folded position in which the top and bottom sides of the jib are disposed in an upright posture along one side of the boom, by engaging the one jib foot portion with the boom point pin on the folding side and turning the boom into an inclined position from a horizontal position, rotating the jib around the axis of the boom point pin into a vertically suspended position; (c) turning the jib in the vertically suspended position through a predetermined angle about the axis extending in the axial direction of the jib to engage the other jib foot portion with the corresponding boom point pin, and stretching the jib in a flat posture; and (d) in the folding operation, folding the jib into the initial folded position by performing steps (a) to (c) in an inverse order.

Method for stretching and folding extension jib in wheeled type crane

An apparatus for stretching and folding an extension jib in a wheeled type crane including a telescopic boom, and a suspension-rod-supported compression column type extension jib to be supported in a flat posture at the fore end of the boom in stretched state through right and left jib foot portions rotatably engaged with horizontal boom point pins extending transversely of the boom at the fore end thereof, the method including the steps of (a) providing on opposite sides of the extension jib right and left jib foot portions disengageably engageable with the boom point pins, one of the jib foot portions being rotatable relative to the boom about an axis extending in the axial direction of the jib; (b) stretching the jib from a folded position in which the top and bottom sides of the jib are disposed in an upright posture along one side of the boom, by engaging the one jib foot portion with the boom point pin on the folding side and turning the boom into an inclined position from a horizontal position, rotating the jib around the axis of the boom point pin into a vertically suspended position; (c) turning the jib in the vertically suspended position through a predetermined angle about the axis extending in the axial direction of the jib to engage the other jib foot portion with the corresponding boom point pin, and stretching the jib in a flat posture; and (d) in the folding operation, folding the jib into the initial folded position by performing steps (a) to (c) in an inverse order.

An outrigger device for wheel-mounted working machines includes a fixed box secured to a wheel-mounted traveling body, an extensible beam storably fitted in the fixed box, and a jack cylinder having a float on the lower end thereof and pivotally connected to the front end of the extensible beam, the jack cylinder being swingable around the axis of the pivot between a vertical position and a stored position where it is inwardly drawn into the extensible beam. Thus, when the outrigger is stored, the jack cylinder is drawn toward the extensible beam while turning around the axis of the pivot at its upper end until it is stored in the beam in an inclined state. This arrangement minimizes the amount of projection of the jack cylinder above the machine and makes it possible to receive the float within the machine width while providing protection of the rod of the jack cylinder and increased durability of the cylinder.
