The fluorescence-emitting material includes a compound having an indolocarbazole skeleton represented by the following general formula (1), as defined in the specification. The organic light-emitting element includes an organic EL element including: a substrate; an anode; a cathode; and a light-emitting layer, the anode and the cathode being laminated on the substrate and the light-emitting layer being sandwiched between the anode and the cathode, in which the light-emitting layer includes: the organic light-emitting material; and as a host material, an organic compound having excited triplet energy higher than that of the organic light-emitting material.

Fluorescence and delayed fluorescence-type organic light-emitting material and element

Provided are a hole-injecting material for an organic electroluminescent device (organic EL device) exhibiting high luminous efficiency at a low voltage and having greatly improved driving stability, and an organic EL device using the material. The hole-injecting material for an organic EL device is selected from benzenehexacarboxylic acid anhydrides, benzenehexacarboxylic acid imides, or N-substituted benzenehexacarboxylic acid imides. Further, the organic EL device has at least one light-emitting layer and at least one hole-injecting layer between an anode and a cathode arranged opposite to each other, and includes the above-mentioned hole-injecting material for an organic EL device in the hole-injecting layer. The organic EL device may contain a hole-transporting material having an ionization potential (IP) of 6.0 eV or less in the hole-injecting layer or a layer adjacent to the hole-injecting layer.

Organic electroluminescent device

Disclosed are an organic electroluminescent device (organic EL device) that is improved in luminous efficiency and fully assured of driving stability and has a simple structure and an organic metal complex suitable therefor. The organic metal complex is represented by the following general formula (I) wherein Ardenotes an aromatic hydrocarbon group or a heteroaromatic group and may have substituents, Arand Arrespectively denote an aromatic hydrocarbon group or a heteroaromatic group and may have substituents, M denotes a trivalent metal, and L denotes an arylate ligand containing a hetero ring having at least one nitrogen atom capable of coordinating M. This organic metal complex, along with a phosphorescent dopant, is suitable for a material constituting the light-emitting layer of an organic EL device.

Organic metal complex and its use in organic electroluminescent device

This invention provides an organic EL material useful for the emissive layer of an organic EL element which deteriorates little in luminance when operated over a prolonged period of time and shows excellent durability. The material is an aluminum chelate complex which is represented by general formula (1) in which Aris a mono- or bicylic arylene group, Aris a mono- or bicyclic aryl group, R-Rare hydrogen or hydrocarbon groups containing 1-8 carbon atoms and contains a compound represented by general formula (1) in which Aris a halogen as an impurity in an amount of 350 wt ppm or less. 

Aluminum chelate complex for organic EL material

Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent device (organic EL device) utilizing phosphorescence which is improved in luminous efficiency and sufficiently secured of driving stability. The organic EL device comprises an anode, organic layers containing a hole-transporting layer, a light-emitting layer, and an electron-transporting layer, and a cathodepiled one upon another on a substrate, the hole-transporting layer is disposed between the light-emitting layer and the anode, the electron-transporting layer is disposed between the light-emitting layer and the cathode, and the light-emitting layer comprises an organic Al complex represented by the following general formula (I) as a host material and an organic Ir complex represented by the following general formula (II) as a guest material. In formula (I), L is ArO&#x2014;, ArCOO&#x2014;, ArSiO&#x2014;, ArGeO&#x2014;, or ArAlO&#x2014;. 

Disclosed are a compound for an organic electroluminescent device (organic EL device) which is improved in luminous efficiency, fully secured of driving stability, and of simple constitution and an organic EL device using said compound. The compound for an organic EL device has two indolocarbazole skeletons each of which is bonded to an aromatic group or two skeletons similar thereto. The organic EL device comprises a light-emitting layer disposed between an anode and a cathode piled one upon another on a substrate and said light-emitting layer comprises a phosphorescent dopant and the aforementioned compound for an organic EL device as a host material.

Disclosed are an organic electroluminescent device (organic EL device) which is improved in luminous efficiency, fully secured of driving stability, and of simple constitution and a compound useful for the fabrication of said organic EL device. The compound for the organic EL device has an indolocarbazole structure or a structure similar thereto in the molecule wherein an aromatic group is bonded to the nitrogen atom in the indolocarbazole. The organic EL device has a light-emitting layer disposed between an anode and a cathode piled one upon another on a substrate and said light-emitting layer comprises a phosphorescent dopant and the aforementioned compound for an organic electroluminescent device as a host material.

Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent device (organic EL device) that utilizes phosphorescence and is improved in luminous efficiency and fully secured of driving stability. The organic EL device comprises an anode, an organic layer containing a hole-transporting layer, a light-emitting layer, and an electron-transporting layer, and a cathode piled one upon another on a substrate while the hole-transporting layer is disposed between the light-emitting layer and the anode and the electron-transporting layer is disposed between the light-emitting layer and the cathode. The light-emitting layer comprises an aluminum heterocomplex or dimeric complex of deuterated substituted or unsubstituted 2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline (Me8HQ-D) in which the hydrogen atoms in the methyl group of substituted or unsubstituted 2-methyl-8-hydroxyquinoline (Me8HQ) are deuterated as a host material and an organic metal complex containing at least one metal selected from groups 7 to 11 of the periodic table as a guest material.

Organic electroluminescent device material and organic electroluminescent device

Provided is an organic electroluminescent device which is suitable for use in full-color and multicolor panels and shows higher luminous efficiency and better driving stability than organic electroluminescent devices utilizing luminescence from the singlet state. The organic electroluminescent device comprises a substrateand an anode, organic layers, and a cathodepiled one upon another on the substrate, at least one of the organic layers comprises a light-emitting layercontaining a host material and a dopant material, and a compound having 2 to 4 pyrazole structures represented by the following formula I (wherein Arto Arare independently hydrogen or substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon groups or aromatic heterocyclic groups) is used as said host material.

An organic electroluminescence device of a long emission life is obtained by stacking an anode, a hole transport layer comprising an organic compound, a light emitting layer comprising an organic compound, an electron transport layer comprising an organic compound, and a cathode, in which the light emitting layer comprises an organic host material of an aluminum chelating complex of a specific structure and a phosphorescent organic guest material.

Organic electroluminescence device

Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent device (organic EL device) which has a simple structure and utilizes phosphorescence. The organic electroluminescent device is improved in luminescent efficiency and secured of sufficient driving stability. The organic electroluminescent device includes a luminescent layer or a plurality of organic compound thin film layers containing a luminescent layer formed between a pair of electrodes. The luminescent layer contains a compound composed of an Al complex of an oxyphenylbenzoxazole which is represented by the general formula (I) below as a host material, while containing an organic metal complex including Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Re, Os, Ir, Pt or Au as a guest material: where Rto Rindependently represent hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aromatic group or the like; n represents 2 or 4; and Z represents aromatic group, triarylsilyl group or the like when n is 2, while representing Al(III) when n is 4.
