Disclosed are an active matrix element and a method of manufacturing the same, wherein two first electrode layers are formed on a substrate, semiconductor thin films are formed on regions including the two first electrode layers, respectively, a second electrode layer is formed on the semiconductor thin layers and constituting Schottky barriers between the semiconductor layers and the second electrode layer.

A silver halide photographic material is disclosed. It contains per 100 g of silver at least 40 mg of a water-soluble compound comprising an element of group VIII of the periodic table and having a molecular weight of at least 100, and 1.2 to 120 mg of a black-and-white silver halide developing agent. The material has improved gradation characteristics and is subject to minimum variation in photographic characteristics.

There is disclosed a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material having at least one light-sensitive layer constituted of a plural number of silver halide emulsions provided on a support, and a non-light-sensitive intermediate layer containing a diffusion resistant coupler capable of forming a migratable color forming dye or a compound capable of forming a flow-out type coupling product provided at least adjacent to the silver halide emulsion layer with the highest light sensitivity among the plural number of silver halide emulsion layers on its support side. The light-sensitive material according to this invention exhibits excellent photographic characteristics such as sensitivity, graininess, sharpness, storability and gradation.

There is disclosed a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer constituted of a plural number of layers which are substantially the same in color to which they are sensitive but different in sensitivity provided on a support, which comprises a layer having the highest sensitivity among the plural number of layers with different sensitivities which contains at least two kinds of substantially mono-dispersed silver halide grains with different average grain sizes. The light-sensitive silver halide photographic material according to this invention is high in sensitivity and excellent in graininess of dye image.

A silver halide photographic material having formed on a support two or more layers that are sensitive to the lights of substantially the same spectral region but different in light sensitivity is disclosed. At least one of the layers other than the one having maximum light sensitivity contains at least 40 mg, per 100 g of silver, of a water-soluble compound containing an element of Group VIII of the periodic table which has a molecular weight of 100 or more. The material has a wide latitude for exposure, and this latitude will not vary greatly with time during storage.
