The inner drum exposure apparatus records an image by scanning a recording material held on an arcuate inner peripheral surface of a support with a light beam that is emitted from a light source and modulated in accordance with image information and deflected by a total reflection mirror plane of a rotatably driven scanning device such as a spinner. The scanning device includes a first cylindrical lens for condensing the incident light beam incident into the total reflection mirror plane along a first plane containing an optical axis of the light beam and a second cylindrical lens for scattering the light beam along a second plane orthogonal to the first plane. The incident light beam is shaped into a beam spot of an elliptical configuration whose major axis is orthogonal to a beam deflecting/scanning direction by the first and second cylindrical lenses.

Inner drum exposure apparatus

The image recording apparatus scans a heat mode recording material with a light beam modulated in accordance with image information, to thereby record an image on the heat mode recording material. The apparatus includes an unit for generating a modulated signal, an unit for generating an additional signal at a timing of at least one of rising and falling of the modulated signal and a unit for generating a drive signal by adding the additional signal to the modulated. The image forming method and apparatus scan a photosensitive material with the light beam to record an image, and a power of the light beam is set to a power of a level at which a recording line width or a recording dot size, which is determined depending upon a threshold value for the photosensitive material to blacken, is substantially fixed even if defocus occurs.

An optical system featuring a semiconductor laser for oscillating a beam which has, in a far field pattern, two lobes in the direction aligned with a pn junction interface of the semiconductor laser. The optical system is provided with a total reflection mirror for reflecting part of the beam in such a manner that one of the two lobes is separated as a result of the reflection of part of the beam from the other, and with a polarization beam splitter having a junction for synthesizing rays in such a manner that the lobes which have been separated by the total reflection mirror are superimposed. The apparatus is thus capable of forming a single beam spot at which the two lobes are superimposed.

Semiconductor laser optical system

A rack for processing a photosensitive material includes a roller transport mechanism composed of a plurality of transport rollers for transporting the photosensitive material to dip the photosensitive material in a processing solution contained in a processing tank. The plurality of transport rollers includes two pairs of generally opposed rollers, the two pairs being disposed adjacent to each other along a path of transport of the photosensitive material. The rollers of each pair of rollers between which the photosensitive material passes is spaced from each other by a distance greater than the thickness of the photosensitive material. A shutter mechanism is provided for covering the surface of the processing solution. The shutter mechanism is disposed between the two pairs of rollers.

Rack for processing photosensitive material

A film processing device contains a film feed unit, a film developing unit, a film drying unit, and a film winding unit. The drying unit and the winding unit are integrally structured, and the feed unit, developing unit, and the drying/winding unit are independently arranged in the casing and are independently detachable. The film processing device can be further provided with an upper cover having processing rollers attached thereto, which is vertically movable with respect to the casing so that the rollers are dipped into the developing and washing liquids when the upper cover is lowered.

Film processing device

Improvement in the device for enlarging and projecting a microfilm image is provided. The improvement is directed to an optical system acting as a magnification varying means and image rotation means as a united system. The optical system comprises a set of reflectors including three or more odd number of reflectors, magnification varying means for changing the length of the light path through the system thereby to vary the magnification of enlargement, and an image rotation means for rotation said set of reflectors to rotate the light delivering the enlarged image, said magnification varying means and said image rotation means being co-operatively associated with each other such that the light axis of the light getting out of the optical system is aligned with the light incident to the system. In case where the number of reflectors included in the optical system is three, individual reflectors united to constitute the reflector set are moved and/or rotated to vary the magnification of enlargement while satisfying the interrelationship indicated by .alpha.-.beta.+.gamma.=.pi./2 where .alpha., .beta. and .gamma. are angles of incident lights on respective reflectors. Also provided by this invention are link assemblies for moving and/or rotating individual reflectors to ensure that they move and/or rotate while always satisfying the interrelation essential for the required performance of the optical system.

Device for enlarging and projecting microfilm image

A charging and exposing head for use in an electrophotographic apparatus includes a charging and exposing chamber having a light transmission window for carrying out charging and exposing operation on an electrophotosensitive member moving along the light transmission window. In the charging and exposing head, a retaining member presses the electrophotosensitve member against the light transmission window to maintain the flatness of the electrophotosensitive member, and cooling air is supplied from a cooling gas supply pipe toward the electrophotosensitive member brought opposite to the light transmission window to prevent thermal deformation of the electrophotosensitive member.

Charging and exposing head for use in electrophotographic apparatus

A processing solution tank specifically adapted for an office-type microfilm processing apparatus in which the operation of changing the processing solutions is eased. The tank is divided into two sections, each of which is composed of plural processing vessels. The two sections are joined together by a hinge so that they can be folded together. A carrying handle is fitted to the main body of each of the two sections, and the two handles come together when the tank is folded. The height of the handles is such as to prevent the processing solutions in the two sections from mixing with one another.
