When a communication unit receives an end power transfer (EPT) packet including information about a power transmission stop period from a power reception apparatus, a power transmission apparatus controls a power transmission coil to transmit a checking signal for checking existence of the power reception apparatus during the power transmission stop period, detects at least one of a voltage or a current applied to the power transmission coil when the checking signal is transmitted, and determines whether the power reception apparatus that has transmitted the EPT packet exists, based on the detection result.

Power saving cannot be implemented in the adhoc mode by only the IEEE 802.11 standard. This is because communication partners mutually utilize the power save mode in the adhoc mode, and their states must always be managed. In the adhoc mode, the number of communication partners is not always one, and all stations which join a network are candidates, increasing the load of implementation. To solve this problem, a communication apparatus notifies a change to power save mode by an ATIM packet, RTS packet, or null packet. When the ATIM packet or RTS packet is transmitted, the communication apparatus can notify the partner of a change in mode regardless of whether the partner is in the power save mode. When the null packet is transmitted, the communication apparatus can rapidly notify the partner without waiting for any beacon.

In the power save mode of an IEEE 802.11 adhoc network, a packet loss occurs unless the power save state of a receiving side is detected, failing in communication. However, there is no explicit notification on joining/leaving in/from a network, and it is difficult to detect and manage the state of a partner, including the detection timing. To solve this problem, a terminal always transmits an information notification packet (ATIM packet) in a time during which all terminals can receive it, prior to data transmission regardless of the power save state of a partner. With this mechanism, the terminal also explicitly notifies the partner of a change in the power save state of the terminal.

As a result, when the power-saving control function is utilized, collision of physical addresses is prevented and it is possible to perform data communication without mismatch.

Collision in right/left turn prevention system

A system-enabled vehicle entering a crossing warns a driver of the vehicle that a possibility of bumping exists, thereby allowing the driver to brake and stop the vehicle in an emergency in front of the crossing. When the system determines a possibility of bumping with another vehicle entering the crossing exists, the system continuously provides controls for decelerating and stopping the vehicle in a range from a point where the system can decelerate the vehicle in an emergency with time allowance for stopping the vehicle in front of the crossing up to a point in front of the crossing.

The collision with pedestrian prevention system according to the present invention comprises pedestrian detection means, road surface conditions detection means, road information accumulation means, vehicle position detection means, vehicle state detection means, processing means, information output means, and vehicle control means. Because of the configuration, the driver is alerted the presence of any pedestrian on a pedestrian's crossing and can immediately correct operations for handling the vehicle without being perplexed by the information just about to finish crossing the road. This system works only when there is the possibility of collision between a pedestrian on a pedestrian's crossing and a vehicle, and provides automatic controls for decelerating or stopping the vehicle when the driver can stop the vehicle by emergently braking over a distance from the vehicle to the pedestrian's crossing.
