A lightsafe masking film is disclosed which includes a transparent substrate, and a transparent, lightsafe layer peelably provided over the surface of the substrate and containing a light yellow colorant and a blue colorant so that the color of the lightsafe layer is light green. The spectral transmittance of the lightsafe layer does not exceeds 1% in the wavelength region of between 350 nm and L.sub.max, wherein L.sub.max is 420 nm or more, but exceeds 1% in the wavelength region of longer than L.sub.max with the maximum spectral transmittance of the lightsafe layer in the wavelength region of 500-570 nm being greater than 50%. The light green masking film is suitably used together with a conventional yellow or amber masking film for masking a photosensitive material in photomechanical reproduction process.

Masking film

A lightsafe masking film is disclosed which comprises a transparent substrate, and a transparent, lightsafe layer peelably provided over the surface of the substrate and containing (a) a nitrile rubber, (b) a vinyl chloride/vinylidene chloride copolymer having an average polymerization degree of 300-600 and a weight ratio of the vinyl chloride units to the vinylidene chloride units of 60:40 to 95:5, and (c) a lightsafe substance, the weight ratio of component (b) to component (a) being in the range of 50:50 to 95:5.

Lightsafe masking film

A lightsafe masking film is disclosed which comprises a substrate, and a peelable lightsafe layer provided over the surface of the substrate and including a binder, a lightsafe substance and at least one additive selected from a solid, organic filler and a liquid organopolysiloxane.

A lightsafe masking film is disclosed which comprises a substrate, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer formed on the substrate, and a lightsafe, peelable layer formed on the adhesive layer and including a dialkyl phthalate, nitrocellulose, a lightsafe colorant and, optionally, a filler and a nitrile rubber. The peelable layer further suitably contains a dialkyl ester of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid.

A lightsafe masking film for use in masking a roomlight film is disclosed which comprises a substrate, and a transparent, lightsafe layer peelably provided over the surface of the substrate and containing a combination of specific yellow and blue colorants so that the lightsafe layer is green or light green in color but can effectively block light to which the roomlight film is sensitive.

A composite, lightsafe masking film is disclosed which comprises a substrate formed of a plastic material, and a lightsafe layer peelably provided over the surface of said substrate. A fluorescent substance is incorporated into the lightsafe layer, or a fluorescent substance-containing layer is provided on the surface of the lightsafe layer or between the lightsafe layer and the substrate, so that a cutting line formed on the lightsafe layer fluoresces under illuminated conditions to form a legible pattern.

A lightsafe masking film is disclosed which comprises a substrate, and a peelable lightsafe layer provided over the surface of the substrate and including a lightsafe substance, a copolymer containing vinyl chloride, and a mixture of a first nitrile rubber containing 25-30% by weight of acrylonitrile and a second nitrile rubber containing 31-35% by weight of acrylonitrile.
