An inductor includes a body containing soft magnetic powder and resin, a coil embedded in the body, outer electrodes on the body, and a protective film on the surface of the body. The protective film has a thickness of 10 μm or more and contains silica particles and resin. In the protective film, the silica particles have an average diameter of 15 nm to 75 nm, and the percentage by weight of the silica particles to the resin is between 150% and 250%.

Inductor

A coil component includes a core having a winding core portion, a first flange portion disposed on a first end portion of the winding core portion, and a second flange portion disposed on a second end portion of the winding core portion; a wire winding on the winding core portion of the core; and a plate member disposed so as to bridge the first flange portion and the second flange portion. The coil component further includes an adhesive portion disposed between the first flange portion and the plate member and adhering the first flange portion to the plate member, and an adhesive portion disposed between the second flange portion and the plate member and adhering the second flange portion to the plate member. The adhesive portion contains a resin and magnetic powder.

Coil component

A coil component is capable of suppressing permeation of liquid or gas into a magnetic portion and increasing mechanical strength of the magnetic portion. A coil component includes a magnetic portion including soft magnetic metal particles having an insulating oxide layer on a surface thereof, with the soft magnetic metal particles being bonded to each other with the insulating oxide layer interposed therebetween; and a coil portion provided inside or on the surface of the magnetic portion. A mixture containing a resin and inorganic particles is disposed between the soft magnetic metal particles.

Coil component and method for manufacturing coil component

A method for manufacturing a magnetic powder includes a step of producing a magnetic powder by spray-drying a spray liquid containing first magnetic particles, second magnetic particles, a thermosetting resin, and an organic solvent. A magnetic powder includes first magnetic particles and a thermosetting resin coating film on surfaces of the first magnetic particles. The first magnetic particles are soft magnetic metal particles. The resin coating film contains second magnetic particles. The second magnetic particles have a smaller average particle size than the first magnetic particles.

A temperature sensor that includes a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, and a thermistor layer between the first and second electrode layers. The thermistor layer includes a spinel-type semiconductor ceramic composition powder containing Mn, Ni, and Fe, and an organic polymer component. In the semiconductor ceramic composition powder, the molar ratio of Mn to Ni is 85/15&#x2265;Mn/Ni&#x2265;65/35, and when the total molar quantity of Mn and Ni is 100 parts by mole, the content of Fe is 30 parts by mole or less, and the semiconductor ceramic composition powder is 2 &#x3bc;m or less in particle size.

Temperature sensor

A rotary encoder includes a shaft and an encoder mechanism that holds the shaft in a rotatably inserted state and detects a rotation direction and a rotation angle of the shaft. The encoder mechanism includes a substrate that rotatably holds the shaft, an insulator portion and a resistor portion provided on one surface of the substrate and alternately provided in the rotation direction of the shaft, a rotor attached to the shaft so as to be integrally rotatable with the shaft, and a slider that is attached to the rotor and alternately slidably contacts the insulator portion and the resistor portion by rotation of the shaft. The insulator portion includes a base material made of a resin, spherical silica, and a fluororesin filler.

Rotary encoder

A common mode choke coil as an electronic component includes a laminate. The laminate includes insulating layers stacked in a thickness direction and has a recess sinking in a stacking direction of the insulating layers. The laminate includes at least one coil conductor therein. The recess is filled with a magnetic resin material. The magnetic resin material is formed of a magnetic powder-containing resin that is a mixture of a soft magnetic metal powder and a thermosetting resin. The soft magnetic metal powder has an average particle size of 12 &#x3bc;m or less. The magnetic powder-containing resin contains 65 vol % or more and 85 vol % or less of the soft magnetic metal powder.

Electronic component

A coil component that includes a drum-shaped core with an upper flange and a lower flange, a winding wound around the core, and an exterior resin between the upper flange and lower flange of the core. The exterior resin includes an inorganic filler at 91 to 95 mass % with respect to the exterior resin, and a resin that has more than one glass transition temperature and has a phase-separated structure. A flange spacing distance between the upper flange and the lower flange is 1.0 mm or less.

This disclosure provides a magnetic material-containing resin to be used for coating and forming cores. A magnetite-containing resin of the present invention includes a magnetite having a residual magnetic flux density of less than 15 Am/kg and a coercive force of less than 12 kA/m. A coil is provided that has a structure in which by coating a winding with the magnetite-containing resin, a magnetite-containing resin layer is formed.

Magnetite-containing resin and electronic component

A coil antenna structure includes a first magnetic component extending in the thickness direction of a tabular primary casing. A second magnetic component and a third magnetic component, which are magnetically connected to the first magnetic component, are disposed on the first principal surface side and the second principal surface side of the primary casing, respectively. The first magnetic component is provided with a coil component surrounding it. In this manner, a U-shaped magnetic path is provided at an end portion of the primary casing so as to detour around a substrate defining an internal conductor. Likewise, a U-shaped magnetic path including fourth to sixth magnetic components is provided in a secondary casing defining a clamshell type casing together with the primary casing so as to detour around a substrate defining as an internal conductor.

Coil antenna structure and portable electronic apparatus

A high frequency magnetic material includes a Y or M type hexagonal ferrite, wherein the hexagonal ferrite is expressed by the composition formula (1-a-b)(Ba Sr )O.aMeO.bFe O , where Me is at least one selected from the group consisting of Co, Ni, Cu, Mg, Mn and Zn, 0.205&lE;a&lE;0.25, 0.55&lE;b&lE;0.595, 0&lE;x&lE;1, and 2.2&lE;b/a<3. A high frequency circuit element includes magnetic layers and internal electrode layers, wherein the high frequency circuit element is a sintered compact and the magnetic layers include the high frequency magnetic material.

High frequency magnetic material and high frequency circuit element including the same

A composite magnetic material comprises a ferrite powder and a resin in which the powder comprises a spinel type ferrite including at least Ni and Co.

Composite magnetic material and inductor element

A Y-type hexagonal oxide magnetic material is provided containing at least Fe, Co, and M (where M is at least one of Ba and Sr) as well as O, wherein the relationship of x&plus;3&sgr;&lE;4 is satisfied, in which x represents the average grain size (&mgr;m) of a sintered compact thereof, and &sgr; represents the standard deviation of the grain size. When this material is used for a magnetic body of an inductor element, a high Q factor can be maintained in a high frequency range of not less than 200 MHZ.

Y-type hexagonal oxide magnetic material and inductor element

As a magnetic material for high frequencies provided in a high-frequency circuit component used as a high-frequency nonreciprocal circuit device, for example, a circulator and an isolator, a magnetic material which can be densely sintered at a relatively low temperature and has a reduced ferromagnetic resonance half width is provided. The magnetic material for high frequencies is primarily composed of yttrium iron-based garnet in which Ca substitutes for a part of Y site, and V substitutes for a part of Fe site, and does not substantially contain tetravalent nor pentavalent elements, other than V, or contains about 0.5% by weight or less of oxide of this element, and the ratio of Ca atoms to V atoms, Ca/V, falls within the range of 2.0<Ca&lE;2.4.

Magnetic material for high frequencies and high-frequency circuit component

A composite magnetic material comprises a ferrite powder and a resin, in which the ferrite powder comprises a cobalt substituted Y type hexagonal ferrite (2BaO.2CoO.6Fe O ) or cobalt substituted Z type hexagonal ferrite (3BaO.2CoO.12Fe O ), and the permeability at 2 GHz is 90% or more of that at 1 MHz.
